The others kept their distance from MiYoung now that her sister was gone. We didn't want her sister asking questions.
I sat with MiYoung and ate with her. She ate slower than usual.
SeungRi: "Are you okay?"
MiYoung: "I'm fine."
Her voice was so low, I almost missed what she said.
(MiYoung's POV)
Why is SeungRi the only one brave enough to sit with me? Even YoungBae is staying away. What's wrong with them?
MiYoung: "Why are they staying away?"
SeungRi: "You said you wanted space. They're respecting you."
MiYoung: "Oh."
SeungRi: "Noona, you look thinner. Why?"
MiYoung: "I've noticed too. No matter how much I eat, I either stay the same or lose weight. I hate that."
SeungRi: "We'll figure out something."
SeungRi...He's too kind to me...Always cares...Never afraid to speak to me...That's SeungRi...
What am I thinking? I have YoungBae. But he won't come near me. I'm worried. He has his back to me.
JiYong caught me looking at YoungBae so he got up and sat with me.
JiYong: "You miss YoungBae?"
I was on the verge of tears when he mentioned his name but I held back.
YoungBae turned around at the mention of his name. I held a gaze with him until he broke it off and turned around.
MiYoung: "Did you see that? It's been like that for a while. I can't take it."
SeungRi: "Maybe he found someone new."
MiYoung: "Impossible. If he did, I would know."
JiYong: "We'll figure out in time. Now, you should sit with them. Maybe we could figure out what's wrong."
We all get up and join their circle. I sit between JiYong and SeungRi. The only one who wouldn't look at me was YoungBae. Maybe SeungRi was right. Maybe he's with my sister. It would be the first guy that liked her for her. Maybe I could be wrong, I really don't know.
DongWook broke the silence.
DongWook: "Should we go home after we eat?"
SeungHyun: "If MiYoung does, we'll leave."
MiYoung: "We'll stay a little longer. It's still nice out."
They all nod except for YoungBae. He won't even acknowledge me.
I got up to throw out my garbage. I think I should take a walk. As I pass the guys, I take off DaeSung's tee shirt and take YoungBae's wife beater. He didn't even bother getting it back. I put on his shirt as I walk across the beach.
(YoungBae's POV)
She just took my shirt. I don't care about anything anymore. She's left me so confused and annoyed. I should find someone new.
JiYong: "Follow your girl."
YoungBae: "No, I'm letting her have her space."
JiYong: "But she misses you. She almost cried when I said your name."
I get up and run after her. She was so far away but I could still recognize her. When I was a few feet away, I called her name.
YoungBae: "MiYoung?"
She didn't turn around. Stubborn.
I ran up to her back and hugged her around the waist. She still didn't speak or try to fight me off.
YoungBae: "What's wrong?"
MiYoung: "You still care? Or are you just bored of me?"
YoungBae: "MiYoung, I care. What's wrong?"
MiYoung: "Did you find someone new?"
Where did she get that from? JiYong? SeungRi?
YoungBae: "No!"
I raised my voice a little too loudly which caused her to break our embrace.
MiYoung: "Then why yell at me?"
YoungBae: "I'm sorry. Please don't be sad, it makes me sad too."
She turned around with tears running down her face. She hugs me tightly with her tears running down my chest. I pull her closer.
MiYoung: "I'm sorry for assuming. You've been different for a while. What happened?"
YoungBae: "I have? How?"
MiYoung: "Gazing at me but not speaking. I rather hear words than have weird looks thrown at me."
I hug her tighter and she coughs lightly on my chest.
We loosen our embrace and she walks away. Just like that. Same old MiYoung.
I catch up with her and put an arm around her waist.
YoungBae: "Better?"
MiYoung: "Yes. Thank you."
She starts walking toward the water and I follow. She stand by the shore, watching the sun set. She turns toward me and I peck her on the lips. I pulled her closer to add more passion to the kiss. The others are probably watching but I wanted this now. I saw a camera flash and we pulled away. It was only JiYong with MiYoung's camera.
JiYong: "Continue. You guys are so cute."
She starts chasing JiYong for her camera. When she catches up with him, she's standing behind him with her arms around him. She looks agrivated and puts him a head lock. He hands her the phone and she lets go of his neck.
(JiYong's POV)
MiYoung almost choked me. I would have given a headlock back but she was a girl and YoungBae was watching. She started looking at the picturs I took and the others gathered around her to take a look. The pictures would make a perfect wallpaper for any computer.
We walk back to our spot and gathered our belongings. SeungHyun called our manager to pick us and bring us home.
Our manager came with a black van. SeungHyun sat in the passenger's seat. MiYoung and YoungBae sat in the second row. SeungRi and DongWook sat in the third row. DaeSung and I sat in the back.
