(YoungBae's POV)
I feel too lousy to get out of my bedroom. JiYong had to bring me food. He gave me a knowing look before leaving.
MiYoung only came in the room twice. Once to get her iPod and phone. Another was to change into different clothing. She's acting like I'm not even there because she changed in front of me. Gosh, she is really killing me.
Someone pushes the door open and walks in with a bowl of strawberries. It was MiYoung. She sat down next to me and sighed.
MiYoung: "How good of a kisser is my sister?"
YoungBae: "How am I supposed to know?"
MiYoung: "You tried kissing her!"
YoungBae: "There's a difference between tried and did."
MiYoung: "Why did you even try?"
YoungBae: "I don't know."
MiYoung: "How do you not know? My sister was pushing you away. She would never take anything of mine and I don't take anything of hers."
YoungBae: "Yeah, I noticed she respected you a lot."
MiYoung: "Quit trying to change the subject and answer me."
Her voice was calm even though she was angry. I regret what I did.
MiYoung: "Even though I accepted your apology, you try to get it on with my little sister? I'm going to call her later and see what she says."
YoungBae: "I'm sorry. You could even move out of this room if it makes you happy."
MiYoung: "JiYong told me that you had trouble sleeping without me next to you. Is that true?"
I ignore her question so she gets up. Before she walks away, she fed me a strawberry and walked out of the room. What the hell?
She was just interrogating me in a calm matter and now she gives me food.
At the doorway, she turns around.
MiYoung: "I'll get an answer to my question in time. Whether you tell me or not."
Her voice was so cold and low. As she closes the door, I give her an answer.
YoungBae: "Yes."
(MiYoung's POV)
Did YoungBae just say yes? It must have been my mind playing tricks on me.
(YoungBae's POV)
I don't think she heard me. I should go tell her. I get up and open the door.
MiYoung was sitting by the wall to the right of the door. She was still eating strawberries. I stand in front of her with my arms crossed across my chest.
MiYoung: "Have an answer for me or you just want to rub something in my face?"
YoungBae: "I...Yes. Yes is my answer. I had very little sleep last night because I knew you wouldn't be there. Your presence makes me feel safe."
MiYoung: "Me? Safe? Ha!~ I feel safe when you're around, not the other way around."
YoungBae: "You just don't realize it."
MiYoung: "I expected a more perverted answer but I like the one I got."
YoungBae: "About EunHye...."
MiYoung: "I don't want to know. Now you have somewhere to be."
How did she know? I'm not going to answer. I get ready and leave the apartment in under 10 minutes. I took a strawberry as I passed MiYoung.
(MiYoung's POV)
When I told him he had to go to the jewelry store, he had on what of his cute surprised looks that I smiled for th first time in the day.
YoungBae shouldn't me out for too long. He said he would be back in an hour. He thinks I have no idea where he is going. He is wrong.
(YoungBae's POV)
I called our manager to go pick up EunHye and head to the mall.
EunHye: "Does she know?"
YoungBae: "I don't think so. About last night..."
EunHye: "Don't bother telling me. Go back with my sister. That never happened."
YoungBae: "She's ignoring me."
EunHye: "My sister never loved anyone more than she loved you. Our parents weren't really there for us so we relied on each other. Now she has you."
I stay silent for the rest of the ride, thinking about what EunHye said.
(AT THE MALL)
I walk to the jewelry store. There was a small distance between EunHye and I.
We sit each sit on a stool by the counter and wait for the woman that helped us yesterday to bring out the finished product.
She put the watch in between us.
EunHye: "Just like I pictured it. Your workers have a lot of talent."
She gave her a nod and talked to me.
Woman: "Glad with what you see?"
YoungBae: "Yes. Wrap it up please."
I've been working on this for a while with EunHye. She was the only one person who knew MiYoung better than MiYoung knew herself.
