HyeSun got off the counter to get some food for herself when the guys were finished. There was still a lot left for HyeSun's growing appetite. She ate by the counter while the others went into the living room. She didn't want to disturb them even if she heard them talking about her. She heard footsteps from behind her. She assumed it was just YoungBae but it wasn't. It was one of his friends. He introduced himself.
"Kwon JiYong. What's your name?" He looked friendly even with his crazy hairstyle. (The mohican hairstyle he has now! I think it's cute ^^)
"Kim HyeSun. Nice to meet you," She placed her fork on her plate and shook his extended hand in front of her. They smiled at each other as he got himself some more food and ate next to her. "Why are you eating with me? What about your friends?"
"They can wait. I see them everyday. It's nice to see YoungBae with a new woman," HyeSun broke out laughing. Luckily she didn't have any food in her mouth.
"You think I'm his girlfriend?" JiYong nodded. "I just met him. He's my next door neighbor."
"I know. I saw you a few times," HyeSun didn't think they saw her before. HyeSun simply nodded.
"Well I'm not his girlfriend. Just a friend."
"Why not? He needs someone to keep him company."
"I can do just that even as a friend. I'm not interested in dating now."
"But you were drooling over SeungHyun," HyeSun tried to hide her pink face. JiYong smiled. He moved closer and whispered into her ear. "You like SeungHyun. Don't you?" Before she can answer, he walked away with more food. She sighed and continued eating by herself. Another of YoungBae's friends came into the room. She ignored him since she just assumed they all acted the same. He kept on poking her shoulder until she finally gave in. She saw the biggest smile in the world. She never smiled as wide as he did.
"I'm Kang DaeSung. Your YoungBae's new girlfriend?" HyeSun shook her head. "Just a friend?" She nodded. "At least he's interacting with women again. How did you meet?"
"He saved me when I tried to commit suicide," She immediately stopped talking when she realized what she said.
"Oh. Why would you do that?" DaeSung's smile faultered slightly.
"I just lost my family. What do you think I would do? Smile like nothing happened?" HyeSun was sad all over again. A few tears slid down her cheeks as she ate. DaeSung didn't know what to say.
"I'm sorry," He patted her shoulder as she furiously ate. He continued to eat in peace.

YoungBae heard HyeSun yelling but she soon calmed down. He just couldn't get her out of his thoughts no matter how hard he tried. The others thought HyeSun was his girlfriend. They didn't know how much he wanted that to be true. He thought HyeSun would never want to see him after hearing about his past. She just wanted to get to know him better. He was smiling to himself as he ate and thought more deeply about HyeSun. When he saw DaeSung come out of the kitchen, he got up and went into the kitchen. DaeSung gave him a look that said, 'Go make a move on her.' He saw HyeSun serving herself some more food. He stood by the doorway and watched every graceful move she made. YoungBae thought of her as the unlikely hot girl. She wasn't perfect but she was very attractive to his eyes. He even liked her attitude.
He stood next to her and watched as she ate without acknowledging him. She finished chewing what was in her mouth until speaking.
"Need something?" YoungBae shook his head.
"Just came to talk."
"Okay," She started eating as she waited for him to speak.
"I know this is asking a lot but," She cut him off.
"You want to go out tonight. With me. Right?" She just read his mind. YoungBae nodded. "How about at the club across the street?"
"Sounds good," YoungBae wanted to start jumping around in joy. He didn't think it would be this easy. He checked his watch. It was almost 3PM. "At about 8PM. Are you busy then?"
"Nope. I'll be ready by then. Just knock on my door when you're ready," She finished her plate of food. YoungBae handed her a napkin to wipe her mouth. She tossed it into the garbage and gave YoungBae a quick hug before leaving his apartment. When he heard his front door close, he started cheering and pumping his fists into the air like crazy. He never felt this happy in months. His friend were standing by the doorway as they watched with smiles on their faces. They were glad to see their friend have some life to his actions for a really long time. YoungBae immediately stopped his little parading when he saw his friends by the door.
"Good luck!" They all shouted before running away. YoungBae went back to going crazy. When he was finished, he got himself some more food.

HyeSun thought of this as a night out with a friend. YoungBae thought of it as a date. She wasn't interested in dating with the tragedy in her family. She had to admit one thing though: YoungBae brightened up her life. He was like her sunshine in her dark mind.
(7:58)
HyeSun kept on glancing at her watch as she rested on the couch. Two more minutes until YoungBae arrived. She decided to keep her outfit simple and casual.

Just when she closed her eyes, she heard a knock at the door. She jumped onto her feet and ran to the door. So many thoughts were running through her head that she had some trouble unlocking her door. She swung the door open and there stood YoungBae. They smiled at each other.
"Ready?" HyeSun nodded as she went back to turn everything off. YoungBae stuck his head in and watched her every move with the biggest smile on his face. They walked out of the apartment. She quickly locked the door as they linked arms and walked to the club together.
(AT THE CLUB)
They both promised to each other and themselves that they wouldn't drink any alcohol. Besides, they didn't even like alcohol so it didn't really matter. They sat by the bar as they watched the crowd. Only HyeSun was looking at the crowd. YoungBae was staring at her with hope that she felt the same as he did. He didn't notice her turn toward him.
"Want to dance?" YoungBae was too focused to hear her request. She started waving her hand in front of YoungBae's face. He finally snapped out of it.
"What?"
"Want to dance? It's better than just sitting here. Right?" She got off her seat and grabbed YoungBae's hand. He got off his seat as he followed her through the crowd. She stopped and turned toward YoungBae. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she moved her body to the beat of the music. Since they were 'friends', there was a certain distance between their bodies. Soon, that distance decreased as YoungBae wrapped his arms around her waist. He pulled her closer so their bodies were pressed against each other as they danced. HyeSun didn't mind. The distance between their faces also decreased. He had the urge to kiss her at the moment but held back. After a while, he couldn't hold back. He started moving closer in hope that she would return the kiss. Instead, something in the club caught her eye so she turned her head away for a moment. His lips landed on her cheek. She turned her head back with an eyebrow raised.
"Were you trying to kiss me?"
"Uhh...I," HyeSun cut him off.
"Watch where you put your lips. They might not be welcomed at their destination," HyeSun smirked as the song ended. "How about we have a contest to see who dances with the most people?" YoungBae wasn't really into the idea. He only wanted to dance with HyeSun. He wasn't going to yes just to make her happy. He was going to be honest and if she didn't like it, it's not his problem.
"I don't want to. Sorry," YoungBae looked deep into her eyes. She nodded. She understood. It made YoungBae like her even more. He was used to seeing women nag their boyfriends to do something they didn't want to do. He was never in the situation so he wouldn't know how to deal with it.
"It's okay," She smiled. "Still. Why did you try kissing me?"
"I didn't try kissing you. Someone pushed me," HyeSun shrugged as they continued to dance. He almost took her first kiss. That was all she thought about the whole night.
(10PM)
HyeSun started getting bored of the club but she didn't want to tell YoungBae.
"I'm bored. Want to go get some food?" HyeSun was relieved to hear this. She eagerly nodded. He loosened his grip on her waist and grabbed her hand to lead her out of the club. When they were outside, they realized it got a little colder. They both were wearing sweaters so the weather didn't bother them. YoungBae pretended to be cold so he could link her arm close to his body as they walked. HyeSun didn't mind as usual. She doesn't seem to notice YoungBae's strange behavior since she hasn't known him for too long.
They entered a restaurant a few blocks away. It wasn't very busy at this time. As it gets later, more people might come. They took a seat across each other at the booth by the corner. A waitress handed them menus. YoungBae was glad that HyeSun didn't hold up the menu or he wouldn't be able to see her beautiful face. He would always divert his eyes to HyeSun as he tried to choose something to eat.
"Pick something yet?" YoungBae snapped out of his little world.
"I'm not hungry," HyeSun nodded and ordered her food. When the waitress walked away, HyeSun started to speak.
"Are you sure?" YoungBae nodded. "Your loss. There's a lot of good food to choose from."
"I'll be fine. Don't worry about me," The food came in 5 minutes. YoungBae's stomach growled a little. HyeSun pushed her plate to the center of the table and held a forkful of food in front of YoungBae. He ate the food on the fork and leaned back.
"See? You were hungry. Don't think I wouldn't notice," She ate a few bites while YoungBae leaned forward again. HyeSun grabbed another fork and handed it to him. "Eat as much as you like. I don't think I can finish this by myself."

YoungBae couldn't help but smile as he ate. He had more fun when she fed him but eating off the same plate was good enough for now. When he fed her once, he got some sauce on the tip of her nose. She didn't notice it so YoungBae wiped it off with his finger for her. She smiled at the moment without looking up at YoungBae.
"I have an idea. I pay for this and you buy some dessert. Sounds good?" YoungBae shook his head.
"I don't mind paying for everything," HyeSun shook her head.
"Then it wouldn't be fair. Let's just split it. Please," She started pouting. Usually, YoungBae wouldn't give in to it but he did this time. He simply nodded. They finished the dish quickly. HyeSun decided to get a large slice of chocolate cake. She stretched her arms out and rested them on the table. YoungBae wanted to hold her hand so badly. There were so many things he wanted to do so badly but he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. She placed her hands back in her lap when the cake arrived. They held their forks as they hesitated to take a piece.
"You go first," HyeSun insisted.
"No. You go first," HyeSun realized that he wasn't going to give up so she stuck her fork into the side of the cake and held in front of YoungBae's mouth.
"You never said who was going to get a taste first," HyeSun's smiled widened slightly as YoungBae took a taste. He gave her a thumbs up and fed her some cake. They took turns feeding each other until there was nothing left. They split the bill and left with their arms linked. Not a single word was spoken until they reached their apartment. They leaned against their doors.
"I guess it's goodbye for now. Come by if you need anything or want to hang out," YoungBae wished it wasn't farewell for now. He couldn't get enough of HyeSun. She turned around and unlocked her door. He was trying to think of a strategy to stay at her place quickly. He thought of one. He wasn't sure it would work but it was worth a try.
"You know what my apartment looks like. Can I see yours?" Her door was unlocked and she took a step in. She reached back and grabbed his hand. She led him inside. She let go of his hand and let him explore. She didn't realize how happy he felt to be in her apartment. If he could think of a strategy to have a place in her heart forever. He just hopes that she would be with him forever.
