I can’t express how happy I was that that day had happened. Corny shit, I know that what you get for hanging out with SeungHyun so much. So it’s been a week and I’ve got two more weeks to spend with him
“Where are we going exactly?” I asked when he pulled me to the basement parking lot one evening.
He didn’t say anything but just pulled me to a garage. He took out his keys and pressed a button so the garage doors would open up.
“Oh no,” I pulled my hand away from his and he turned to me with this look.
“Pouts only work on me when SeungRi’s doing it ok? Your eyes are too scary,” I was going to break into a run but he caught me by the wrist.
“Please, come on, it’ll be fun!” he smiled, stupid pretty smile.
“But it’s a motorbike! I’ve got two-wheel-a-phobia!” I tried turning on MY super puppy pout.
“Hah! Nice try,” he pulled me closer to him, “you’re overreacting just like you aerophobia, hydrophobia and dark-a-phobia.”
“I am NOT overreacting!” I yanked my hand away, “trust me if we’re not gonna crash for your carelessness it’s gonna be my freaking out that’s gonna kills us on that thing!” he covered my mouth as soon as I finished my sentence as if I said some forbidden ancient cuss.
“She’s not a thing.” He looked serious and I was thinking he’s got to be kidding me, “She’s a beautiful machine.”
“Then what am I?” she frowned, “an emotionless duck?”
He face suddenly revealed a sheepish smile. “I'm sorry.” He took my hand again with both of his, “SungMin, I won’t let anything happen to you I promise.”
“Fine, if I die I’m not leaving you anything in my will.”
He smiled and handed me a helmet and i regretfully got on the bike. I was already trembling when he fired the beast up. I held on to him for dear life. I was too busy squeezing my eyes shut blind to realize we were already on the road heading out of the city. I shut my eyes tighter when he sped down the road.
After about 20 minutes of motor biking, he pulled over the side of a quiet road when i opened my eyes. We were on a hill overlooking Seoul and the sun was setting. He got off and then helped me off. We sat at the railing and watched the sun set.
“What’s going to happen when I leave for home?” I didn’t dare to ask him at first but he bringing me here made me feel scared of what I’m going to leave behind.
“I never really thought about it.” He pulled me so I leaned on his shoulder.
“I could stay.” That came out of nowhere. But it could work. “I could live here.” I turned to look at him but he wasn’t looking back at me.
“Seriously?” he faced me with this weird look.
“Why not?” I demanded.
“I don’t know, I just don’t think it’s necessary.” He turned to face the now lit city, “I mean I could still call and email and stuff.”
“But it’s not the same,” I tugged on his jacket. He looked like he was deep in thought.
“Let’s go, I’m hungry.” He got up and got on his bike again.
“God, why does he have to be so difficult.” I muttered under my breath.
SeungHyun was pretty weird on the way home. His phone kept ringing and so did mine but obviously we couldn’t pick it up. We got home safe and quiet and tensed but as soon as we got off his bike there was a swarm of people with flashing cameras and they were shouting at us. I didn’t understand a word they said for one thing they were talking all at once. I was about to pull off my helmet but SeungHyun pulled me and we ran into the elevator.
“Were they chasing us?” i asked SeungHyun as soon as i got my helmet off.
“Yup,” he answered as he got his off.
“Who are those people SeungHyun?” he avoided my eyes when i asked this.
“They’re why it’s unnecessary for you to stay.” The doors slid open and he walked out before me and went straight into his apartment.
