the hallways of their highschool. He smiled and walked
up to her, and they walked down the hallways together.
That smile melted her heart, every single time, but
she hoped it wasn't obvious. She was known to
be an ice queen, very withdrawn and quiet about her
feelings. But she had met Key a few years ago, and he
was the one person, that took the time, to break
down her emotional wall, and care for her.
"Hey dongseng." He said. "Did Mr. Baek say we have
double fourth assembly?" Yunni asked. "Yeah. We're going
to the second assembly. We have AP Bio first." He
said. Yunni nodded. They reached the end of the hallway,
and said their goodbyes, going their separate ways
to their first period classes. Then they met up later
on for their fourth period. They spend one hour,
having to dissect frogs, which she really didn't
like. "Miss Kim why are you not dissecting the frog?"
Mr. Yoon asked her, holding his clipboard. "I.."
Yunni said, slightly frightened. "She can't handle
dissecting it, so I'm doing the dissection while she
watches and takes down the information." Key explained.
"Well, alright." Mr. Yoon said and went to inspect
the next lab group's progress. "Thanks oppa." Yunni
said grateful. Key winked at her, with a smile
and Yunni shook her head, but couldn't help but smile
as well.
"What is she doing with Key oppa?" One girl
whispered to a friend, as Yunni walked down the hallway
alone at the moment. "I have no idea. That tramp better
watch her step." Another girl said. "I know." Another
girl replied. Yunni was usually good at hiding her
emotions, but the remarks were getting to her.
"Yunni!" A familiar male voice called to her.
She knew it was Key. She slowly turned around, fearful
of the people around her. He smiled at her, and the
other girls gave her death glares. Yunni bolted out
the entrance door of the building, walking through
the thick snow, and wind. She pulled her hat closer
to her head, and tightened her scarf, and held onto
her jacket tightly, she could feel a few tears, falling
down her face. "Yunni!" She heard Key called after
her. He caught up to her and turned her around.
"What's wrong?" He asked, and was surprised to
notice the few tears that had fallen. "It's nothing
really. I'm fine." Yunni said quickly. "Yunni, you
don't have to put up a brave front with me." He said.
She sighed and said the truth. "It's just some girls
just said some things, and it kind of got to me." She
said. "What about us?" He asked. Yunni nodded slowly.
"They should know nothing is going on with us. I have
no idea where they would get such an idea." Yunni said
in exasperation ."So there isn't anything going on with
us?" He asked her, a slight offense was heard in his
voice. "Huh?" Yunni said, surprised at his reaction.
"You don't think there's anything between us? You only
see us as being friends?" Key asked her. "I..thought so.
Or I thought you thought so. wait. I'm confusing myself.
Oppa, I like you. but I thought you thought that I, that
y--.." She stammered, unable to finish because he
crushed his lips on her own, much to her surprise.
When they broke apart he said with a smile. "That's
all I needed to hear." He said. "What?" Yunni said,
still in shock. "I like you dongseng." he said.
"Oh." She said. Key hugged her warmly, and they walked
back to school, hand in hand.
