Chapter 35

spring-ChoonHee & JunSu

ChoonHee, walked along the sidewalk, a smile on

her face, there was a bounce in her step. She felt content

with the weather, she loved spring. The flowers were in

bloom, in different colors, there were tulips, and

poppies, and daisies, sunflowers, all around the

city. And the birds were chirping happily. It was a

fairly warm day, the sky was blue, with a few fluffy

white clouds in the sky, and the sun shone down, with

just the right amount of warmth, a slight freesh breeze

in the air. She walked over to her school's soccer field.

When she got there, a few people were sitting in the

bleachers, watching the practice. ChoonHee climbed up

the steps up the bleachers, and sat at the very top

row of the stands. She watched as JunSu, and his other

teammates, went through a few of their plays, kicking

the ball around, figuring out their strategy for their

next game. ChoonHee sighed to herself, seeing his

triumphant smile, as he kicked the ball into the goal.

Soon practice was over, and the players left the field,

going into the locker rooms to change, or to the benches

to get their water bottles first. ChoonHee left the

stands, climbing down the steps, when she saw HeeBon

clinging onto JunSu's arm. ChoonHee rolled her eyes

to herself. She knew JunSu was too polite to push

Heebon away. Or was it possible that he actually liked

her? This thought constantly rang through ChoonHee's mind.

JunSu turned, and saw ChoonHee, he smiled slightly and

waved. ChoonHee smiled back, hesitantly as HeeBon sent

her death glares, JunSu didn't notice. "Oh, hey ChoonHee."

Heebon said, sweetly, fakely. "Hi, Unni." ChoonHee said

softly. "Hey, you should come with us and the team we're

going out for drinks." HeeBon said. "Oh, it's okay.

I have an early class tomorrow. But thanks." ChoonHee

said quickly. "Aw, okay. If you're sure. See you later."

HeeBon said. ChoonHee nodded, she met JunSu's eyes and

it seemed he looked a little dissapointed. Or was that

just her imagination? She shrugged it off inside, and waved

goodbye to the two, and walked off to her car to go back

to her dorm for the day.

ChoonHee parked in the parking lot of her

dormitory. Then locked her car, climbing up the stairs

to her dorm room, which she shared with two other girls.

She opened the door, and it seemed like both her roommates

were still out for the day. She put her bag down in the

hallway, and walked into the little kitchen to have

a snack. She brought out some assortment of cut up fruit,

strawberries, pineapples, and pears. She was feeling a bit

down and dipped the fruit in some chocolate and it

together. "Everytime. Unni knows I can't drink yet. Eesh.

She's too old for JunSu though isn't she? Woah. Where

did that come from?" She thought to herself. She sighed

and finished her snack, drinking a glass of water, then

went to her room, and sat down at the desk, to start on

her work. She highlighted important parts in her book,

and reviewed for her exam. After about an hour, she fell

asleep at her desk. She woke up again, to a knocking

at the door. She got up slightly sleepy, and walked over

the door. She opened it, and was surprised to see JunSu,

standing there. "Oppa." ChooNhee said, surprised.

"Hey." He said, smiling slightly. "Weren't you supposed

to go with the team for drinks?" She asked him. "Yeah. I

went for a little bit. But it was boring. Can I come in?"

He asked her. "Oh, yeah. Sure." ChoonHee said, inviting him

inside. They sat down at the kitchen counter stools.

"What about Unni?" ChoonHee couldn't help but ask.

"Heebon nuna? She's still there, drinking with the

others." He explained. "Oh." ChoonHee said. "Yeah. I'm

not that much of a drinker." He explained. "I see.

ChoonHee said. "So, what have you been up to?" He asked

her. "Nothing much really. Just studying for my exam."

She explained. "Oh. That's good." He said. ChoonHee

nodded. "Do you need help? Studying?" He offered.

ChoonHee looked at him, surprised. "Hmm? It's okay.

You're probably busy right?" She asked. He shook his head.

"Well, okay. I'll get the cards." She said and went to her

room, bringing out the review cards. They went to the

living room. JunSu read the questions, while she

answered. "Uh, Eli Whitney?" She asked, unsure.

"Yeah. Good. Next question." He said, then asked the next

question. "Uh, the 18th amendment?" She asked. "Nope.

The 19th amendment. Hmm. Consequence you need

a consequence!" JunSu said, enthusiastically.

"What? Why? ChoonHee said, surprised. "So you can

learn from your mistakes. Uh, run around the coffee

table, while singing "The Three Bears song." He said.

"What? Oppa." ChoonHee, said whining slightly.

"Dongseng." JunSu whined back. "Aish. Fine but this

is not fair." ChoonHee said. She stood up from

the couch, and ran around the table singing.

"Gom se mari..." Until she was out of breath.

"Good. Next question..." He said, and it went on like

this, luckily she knew the the rest of the questions.

They fell asleep on the couch. ChoonHee woke up,

and her eyes widened, as she realized her position.

She and JunSu were seated upright on the couch, but

he was hugging her tightly, his face so close to hers.

She saw a small smile crept onto his face and it

saddened her. He was probably dreaming about Heebon.

She sighed softly, and carefully put a pillow in her place.

And left his embrace. She got up from the couch and walked

into the kitchen, where there was a small note on the

counter. She read the note.

Dongseng, Yuri and I went to stay at the dorm, a

few doors down for the night. We saw you and JunSu on

the couch, and didn't want to get in the way. *wink*

-Tiffany

ChoonHee groaned, in exasperation. "Aigoo. My unnies

are always getting the wrong idea. sheesh." She thought.

She tossed the note into the trashcan. She started to get

things out of the fridge for breakfast, when JunSu walked

in, sleepy eyed. "ChoonHee, sorry I fell asleep on your

couch." He said. "That's okay oppa. Maybe I should've

woken you? Don't you have an early game today?" She asked,

as she brought the bread, and spread, and started brewing

coffee. "Oh, it's okay. It's not till 1." He explained.

"Oh. Wanna help me make breakfast?" She asked. JunSu

looked doubtful. "I want to, but JaeJoong hyung is the

cook of my group, but I could try." He said. ChoonHee

smiled, nodding and handed him a few eggs for cracking

and stirring and pouring into the skillet for omelets.

She cooked some rice and bacon in the other skillet.

They ate breakfast, and said goodbye. He asked if

she would be at the game later. ChoonHee nodded.

"hwaiting oppa!" She said with a smile. "Hwaiting." He

said back, and smiled, then left the dorm. ChoonHee,

then changed her clothes, grabbed her bag, and went to

school for her exam. She felt confident and went

through answering her scantron smoothly. Then she

went to the university's soccer field, and went up the

stands, where many of the rows were filled, with people

cheering for her University's team and the opposite team.

She sat somewhere towards the middle of the rows, where

Yuri and Tiffany were already seated. They smirked at

her, when she sat down ."Unnies, it's not what you think.

Nothing happened." ChoonHee whispered to them. "Okay."

They said to her. They watched the game. JunSu and his

other teammates played very well. In the end, their

University's team won. 6-2. The crowd went wild for

their victory. People cheered, and the team cheered

in victory as well, they poured gatorade on their

coach. The losing team, shook hands with JunSu's

team, graciously and they left the field. Soon, everyone

else took leave from the stands. ChoonHee climbed down

the steps, on her own, her Unnies had gone off with

some other friends. She was walking to the parking lot,

when JunSu, came around the corner. She looked surprised.

"Hey oppa. Good job out there." She said with a smile.

He smiled back, and walked over to her, and that's when

she noticed he had something behind his back. He took

what he was holding behind his back, and presented it

to her. It was a small bouquet, of sunflowers, daisies,

and tulips. She took it from him, in shock. "Oppa, why

are you giving me these? Your the one who won your game."

She said. "Yeah. But I heard from Mr. Sohn, you aced

your history exam." He explained. "Huh? You did how?"

She asked. He chuckled his dolphin like laugh.

"I went over to school right before the game. But you

were already on your way here, I guess. But Mr. Sohn saw

me and he told me to tell you, that he already graded

your scantron, and you got everything right." JunSu

explained. "Oh. You went to see me before the game?"

She asked him. He nodded. "Oh, thanks oppa." ChoonHee

said, grateful. JunSu nodded, and smiled. ChoonHee

smiled back, unsure of what to say as the two of them,

stood in the middle of the parking lot. By this time

almost all the other cars, had cleared out. At the

next instant, they both spoke at the same time.

"ChoonHee.." "Oppa.." They both said, then stopped.

"You go first." She said. "No it's okay you can" He

offered. "No really oppa, its okay." She said. JunSu

nodded. "ChoonHee, I..I really like you. That's why I

left the bar early, so I could spend time with you, and

that's why I went to visit you right after your test."

He confessed, looking at her, then looked down.

ChoonHee looked surprised. "Really? I was going to say

that too. But I thought you liked Heebon unni." She

explained. Now it was his turn to look surprised.

"What? I don't like Heebon nuna, she's always clinging to

me." He said. "Oh. Well, I also have to tell you that

we fell asleep on the couch." She admitted shyly.

JunSu smiled. "I know. I woke up and you were cold, so I

held you for awhile." He admitted. ChoonHee was surprised.

"Oh. Well I woke up and you were still holding me." She

admitted. "Oh." He said. "So?" She said, unsure of what

to say next. "Do you like me too?" He asked, stepping

forward closer to her. ChoonHee looked up at him, and

nodded. JunSu smiled, and took the bouquet from her

hands, placing it down on the hood of her car gently.

Then he leaned down, until his lips met her own, kissing

her softly. After a few seconds, they broke apart. ChoonHee

blushed slightly. "So whatever happened to Heebon unni?"

She asked him. "I heard she was too hung over to come

to the game." He said with a shrug. "Oh." ChoonHee said

He smiled at her, and they walked across the parking lot,

hand in hand.
