center, and went inside the building, walking over to the
large auditorium where she and the rest of the orchestra
practiced. She walked down the long stretch of stairs and
walked up the stage, taking her seat, and took out her
cello and got ready. Soon, the rest of the members
arrived and their conductor began their rehearsal.
"Mrs. Park, I'm back." Molly called as she returned
from her rehearsal practice, into the orphanage building.
She saw some of the little kids running around, and she
was surprised to see Leeteuk come through one of the
doors. He seemed surprised to see her as well.
"Leeteuk oppa?" She said. "Molly? It's been so long.
You've grown up." He said, with a smile. Molly smiled
back, giving him a quick hug. She'd met him, when she
was very little when she first came to the orphanage.
He was Mrs. Park's nephew and he'd visit from time to
time.
[Flashback]
"But I don't want to stay here. I want to go home."
The four year old Molly said, crying as she was brought
to one of the rooms of the orphanage. She saw a boy of
about eight years old, come into the room, trying to
help with the situation. "Annyeong. I'm Leeteuk." He
said to her gently in broken english. "I'm Molly."
She said, sniffing now. "What's wrong?" He asked her.
"I want to go home. I want to see my mommy." She said.
"Oh. Well, I can show you where your mommy is." He
told her. "Really?" Molly said, looking at him, wide eyed.
Leeteuk nodded. He extended his hand out to her, and
she took it, as he helped her up from the floor.
"Auntie, can I show her something outside?" Leeteuk
asked Mrs. Park. SHe nodded. Leeteuk brought Molly
outside into the backyard of the orphanage. He pointed up
at the sky. "See all those stars?" He asked her. Molly
nodded. "Your mom is up there with the stars. She's
smiling down at you, though you can't see her." He
explained. "Really?" Molly said. "Yeah. Want to talk
to her?" Leeteuk said. Molly nodded. "Go ahead." He
told her. "Mommy?! Can you hear me?! I miss you!" Molly
said, a little relieved to know her mother was at peace,
but still sad. "It's okay." Leeteuk said. Molly nodded.
They went back inside the orphanage.
[end of flashback]
"Molly?" Leeteuk said, waving his hand in front of
her face. "Huh? Oh sorry oppa. I was just remembering
something." She said. Leeteuk smiled. "When you first came
here right?" He said. She nodded. "So, you're visiting
again?" She asked him. He nodded. "Is your Aunt around?"
Molly asked him. "She went to the grocery to get dinner.
So she asked me to take care of Shin Ae, Minki, Yuli,
Jaebum, Minhwan, and Minhee." He explaioned. Molly nodded.
"Well, I'm back from my practice so I can help now." SHe
said. "Okay. You play with the philharmonic now huh?"
He said. She nodded. "Impressive. Wanna hear me play
guitar later?" He asked. She nodded and they both went
through the building, rounding up the kids to see what
they needed to do. They found Shin Ae in the backyard
and she'd tripped and scraped her knee. Leeteuk picked
her up, and took her to the bathroom, cleaning the
scrape and putting on a band-aid. "Thanks oppa." Shin
Ae said then went off on her way around the orphanage.
Molly couldn't help but admire his tenderness. They
found Yuli and MinHee in their room, playing with their
dolls and told them to wash up before dinner. When
they continued to play dolls, Leeteuk and Molly went over
to them and started to tickle them. Yuli and Minhee
laughed and begged them to stop, then they went to
the bathrooms to wash up. They found MinKi playing
with his trucks in the living room. Leeteuk picked him
up and told him to go wash up for dinner. "But I wanna
play with my trucks." He said, pouting. "You can play
with them later." Leeteuk said. "Aw, do I hafta?" Minki
said. Leeteuk nodded. MinKi sighed and Leeteuk placed him
down on the ground and he scurried off to go wash up for
dinner. Then they found Jaebum, in his room, laying down
on the bed. "Dongseng, what's wrong?" Molly asked him,
as she and Leeteuk went over to him. "I don't feel good."
JaeBum said. Molly placed her hand on his forehead gently,
checking his temperature. "OMO. You're warm." She said,
with concern. Leeteuk still couldn't believe how much
she had grown, he'd see her at least twice a year when
he visited, but now he was so surprised at how much of
a young woman, she had become. Her expressive green eyes
showed concern for the young boy. Leeteuk couldn't help
but admire that. "I'll get you some medicine okay?" Molly
said. Jaebum nodded. She left the room. "Dongseng. How
you feeling?" Leeteuk asked him. "Like I got run over
hyung." Jaebum said. As he said this, Molly was walking
back into the room. Leeteuk notice her grave expression
and her hands shaking as she held the medicine bottle.
Jaebum of course, didn't know what she went through.
"Are you okay dongseng?" Leeteuk asked her. Molly nodded.
She knew it was just an expression, but it reminded her of
that thunderous night. She poured some medicine into the
cup and gave it to JaeBum who drank it, along with a glass
of water. "Just rest dongseng, we'll tell Mrs. Park you're
not feeling well and we can bring you your dinner." Molly
said. Jaebum nodded. She and Leeteuk left the room.
They went downstairs to help Mrs. Park who came back,
with the groceris fix dinner. They ate dinner with the kids
and Molly brought Jaebum his dinner. Then they put the
kids to bed. Molly walked over to her own room, since she
was the eldest of the kids, and Leeteuk went into the
guest room across from hers. "Goodnight oppa." She
said, slowly closing the door behind her. "Goodnight."
Leeteuk said with a smile as he closed his door as well.
The day of the concert was here. Molly
sat behind the closed curtains of the stage, in her
knee length black dress, her reddish gold hair pulled back
in a loose ponytail with a bow, and her cello in front of
her, she took in a breath, then exhaled just as the
curtains rose and she saw the glare of the lights and
hundreds of people in the auditorium who clapped at the
starting of the performance. The conductor raised his wand,
and on his cue, the orchestra, along with Molly began
to play their concerto. After the show, the crowd
clapped wildly. Molly and the rest of the orchestra
stood up and bowed, then left the stage. Molly was
packing up her things, and left the building, when
she was surprised to see Leeteuk, waiting at the
backdoor as she left. He was holding a bouquet of an
arrangement of flowers of carnations and baby's breath.
Molly was very surprised. "Oppa. What are you doing here?"
She asked him. Leeteuk smiled and handed her the bouquet.
"I came to see your show I was there, all the way in
the back." he said. "You did? Oh. Thanks oppa." She
said, touched by his support for her. "So, should we head
back to the orphanage?" She asked him. "Sure. But first,
I need to tell you something." He said. She was confused.
"Oh, okay." She said. He took her free hand that wasn't
holding the bouquet. Much to her surprise and she could
feel her face heating up. "Molly, I like you. We've grown
up together. You're kind and compassionate, and you
have such a passion for music and spending time with kids.
Can you accept me?" He asked her. Molly looked at him
wide eyed, not really sure if this was really happening.
"Oppa, I like you too." She admitted. Leeteuk smiled back
he leaned in towards her, and she closed her eyes, and
soon felt his lips, press onto her own softly. She
had lost her mother years before and had felt out of
place, but she felt a sense of security now that she
had Leeteuk with her.
