sat outside of the ice creamery at the round tables.
Inhwan had chocolate, while Siwon had sweet cream and
Hana had the cookies and cream. Siwon then got a bit of
his ice cream, and dabbed onto Hana's nose, much to
her surprise. "Yah oppa." Hana said, wiping the icecream
off of her nose, with a napkin. Siwon laughed his dimples
showing. Inhwan just continued to eat his own icecream.
Hana pouted and got some of her ice cream and smeared it
on his cheek. "Hey." He said. Now she laughed. He wiped
it off with a napkin. "Okay enough." Siwon said with a
laugh. Hana nodded, smiling. "hey, you guys are wasting
your icecream. Not me. I'm eating mine." Inhwan said
Hana and Siwon looked at him in surprise. They laughed
again at his words. After they finished their ice cream,
they walked Inhwan to his house, dropping him off. He
thanked them and waved goodbye. Siwon and Hana waved back,
and then he walked her to her house. "I'll see you at
school?" He said. Hana nodded and waved goodbye, thanking
him.
That following Monday morning, Hana was making the
usual daily announcements over the school's PA system,
like she always did. Siwon was in one of the classroom,
as he was the student council president. He was talking to
the rest of the members about fundraisers and upcoming
school events. Other students were in their classroms,
doing their work as they listened to the announcements.
"JV Football beat Mayfair last night at our away game.
Go Dons! And lastly, we have senior birthdays. With Lina
Bae, Jonathon Yoon, Cyndi Wang, and Ashley Pei." Hana
announced over the PA system. She finished the
announcements, and turned off the PA's mic. She stood up
from her seat, when someone suddenly came into the room.
It was Jessica Jung. "What do you want Unni?" Hana said
exasperatingly. "Oh nothing. Just wanted to see how you
were doing. I hear Siwon's taking pity on you again."
Jessica said coldly. "Maybe. Maybe not. What's it to you?"
Hana snapped back. Jessica smirked. "Nothing" She
said, and moved around, sitting down at the table where
Hana was, and inconspicuously turned on the PA mic again.
"You like him don't you?" Jessica said. "What are you
talking about?" Hana said. "Oh please. Everyone can tell.
Do you really think you have a shot with him? Everyone
worships the ground he walks on. And what are you? You're
no one." Jessica said cruelly. Hana couldn't take it
anymore and she snapped. "Fine. I like him. Is that what
you want to hear? You want me to tell the whole world?
I know that I am no one compared to him. He's class
president, valedictorian, but I like him. I, HANA KEIKO
AM IN LOVE WITH CHOI SIWON! ARE YOU HAPPY?!!" Hana
shrieked. Jessica smirked and Hana finally realized her
voice echoed throughout the school. Jessica then
turned the PA mic off. "Oops." She said, and left the
room. Hana stood there, a numbness come over her as she
realized that everyone had heard her confession. Siwon
was in the middle of his explanation of their next
fundraiser, when he overhear Hana's outburst. He had
stopped his explanation and he and the four hundred other
students listend as well. He was shocked. "I'll be right
back." he said and left the room, going down the hallway.
Hana left the announcement room, in shame and fear as
she knew people would be whispering about her.
She turned the corner, walking with her head down, and
looked up and her eyes widened when she saw Siwon come
around the opposite corner, walking her way down the
hallway. She somewhat froze. He stopped and stood in front
of her. "O-oppa I.." She said her voice cracking. Siwon
pulled her to him, before she could explain, kissing her
deeply. She was very surprised, and soon found herself
kissing him back. The bell for snack rang, and people were
filing out of the classrooms, and looked at the pair in
shock, then went on their way, uncomfortable at the display
of PDA. They finally broke apart for air. Hana looked
up at him surprised. "Oppa." She said. "Hana. Don't
let Jeessica think any of that is true. You're not
a nobody. I like you too. You're everything to me."
Siwon confessed sincerely. She listened to his words
in surprise. "Really?" She said. He nodded and she smiled.
He placed his arm around her shoulder and they walked
out to snack, and went around campus, with people cheering,
much to Jessica's dismay. He walked her home, and asked her
if she wanted to go out the following night. She nodded
kissing him quickly, and he left.
Hana was happily watching "Boys Over Flowers"
in her living room on her own, when the drama was
interrupted by an important news break. She sighed.
"Gah. Right when it was getting to the good part." She
mumbled. But she became numb when she watched the
news report. "A young man has died in Seoul Hospital
after a drive by bullet shot him, while he was walking
home. Where he lives is a fairly safe neighborhood, so this
all came as a shock to many neighbors. He was rushed
to the hospital but died, minutes after. The young man's
name has been released as Choi Siwon, a senior at
Danguk University. His parents are mourning for his loss,
there will be a funeral service tomorrow morning, at
Sarang Church. He was a well known and loved young man,
he was the senior student president, supposed to be
upcoming valedictorian, and a devote Christian,
participating in his church's youth group. It is
truly a tragic loss for a young man to die at
his prime in life. Now we will return to the
recent show broadcasting." The anchor woman said.
Hana started to cry, and grabbed the keys to her
car, rushing over to Seoul Hospital. She saw Mr
and Mrs. Choi, seated outside of the the hospital room.
Mrs. Choi was crying and Mr. Choi had a grave expression
on his face, and she saw that his eyes were watery.
She ran over to them, as they were very close with her
along with her parents. She hugged Mrs. Choi as they
both sobbed. Then Hana went numb again, as the doctors
pulled out the hospital bed with Siwon's body, and a white
sheet over it. "Oppa!1" Hana shrieked clutching onto
the hospital bed. The doctor's were surprised and
let her see Siwon's face hesitantly. He looked very
pale. Apparently he had been shot in the chest, and
he hemmoragged so much and died. Hans sobbed as she
looked down at his still figure. Mrs. Choi hugged her
again as they both cried. Then a young man in a white
coat, handed her a slip of paper. "Are you Hana?" He
asked her. She nodded and handed her a slip of paper. Hana
excused herself from the Choi's and walked down the
hospital hallway, and sat down in the empty lobby, on
one of the chairs. She opened the paper.
It was a memo. Of Siwon's plans for her and him,
the following night.
Reminder:
7PM Take Hana to Riordian's Restaurant, first get
her favorite flowers. Dancing, dinner, then take
a walk by the lake, fireworks show, is sure to be
that night. Gah. I'm so pappy she likes me too. I
sound like a girl. Aigoo. Hopefully no one will see
this.
Hana laughed a little, at his remark about himself,
and cried as well. She was touched at his plans for
their date, but grieved over losing him after they had
just found out about their feelings for each other.
"Rest in Peace oppa. I will miss you. You didn't deserve
this." She thought sadly, as the tears continued to
flow down her cheeks.
