of the Jeong family's servants called to her. HyeonMi
nodded with a sigh and told her she would be out in a
minute. She sat in front of her balcony on the third
floor, overlooking the premises, on her red velvet
chaise lounge chair. Her arms resting on the head of
the chair, as she looked out at the view. She could
see the large fountain below, that was on at the moment,
spurting clear water up into the air, and many rosebushes,
full in bloom, to her right, she could see the
badminton court, and the tennis court a few yards away.
To her left, she could see one of the workers skimming
the large outdoor swimming pool. They had an indoor
swimming pool as well when the weather was cold.
She loved to swim, and had the opportunity to do so
whenever she wished. Although she had all these things,
she still felt like she was missing something. She had
talked to her friends about it, and they all seemed to
tell her how lucky she was. She knew that. The one friend
who agreed with her, was JaeJin. He had said to her before,
"Whatever it is that you seem to be missing. I'm sure
you'll find it soon enough." He had told her encouragingly.
HyeonMi nodded. "Fighting!" She said to herself, and left
her balcony, going back into her room, passing her large
king size bed, with a million white fluffy pillows,
passing her bathroom, with a jacuzzi mode in her bathtub,
and left through her large doorway, closing the double
white tall double doors, and going down the long
staircase with iron railings, ornately designed, and
the steps that were covered in a nice red carpeting,
down the steps, across the foyer and another servant
opened the door for her, and she waited underneath
the large white columns of the house, and the small
posh, silver car pulled up to the front of the house,
and she went in and the driver drove her to school.
As HyeonMi entered her high school. Most people
did not glance her way, but her close friends came
running to greet her. "Unni!" Yuli squealed grabbing
onto her arm. HyeonMi smiled and started to talk with
her and JinMi. "I know! And it's just like what do
we do now? And all this flour just exploded in our
faces" JinMi told HyeonMi, recounting her story of
what happened in home ec class yesterday. HyeonMi
laughed at her friend's story. And they all walked into
their first period. HyeonMi sat there, trying to pay
attention to her French teacher, but still wondered
what was missing in her life. She then went to her
second period English class, then time passed by
and she went to her fifth and final period of art
class. She set up her easel, and paints, sitting down
in front of it, and started to paint the scenery outside.
She kept glancing back and forth from the open window
which she sat next to, to the easel, as the movements
from her hand that held her paintbrush to the strokes
on the paper came naturally. As she glanced back down
at the outside scene at the windwow she saw JaeJin
and a few of his friends milling around. He saw her
and waved. HyeonMi smiled and gave a small wave back and
went back to her painting. After class she cleaned up
her things, and left and went downstairs to wait for
her car to pick her up. She stood in front of the
school, looking at the long expanse of driveway,
but her car still did not appear. A long black limo
appeared in front of her. She knew it was JaeJin's
family's and wondered what it was doing there. The
backdoor of the limo opened, and JaeJin came out.
"Do you need a ride?" He asked her. "It's okay oppa.
I think my driver's just running a little late."
She told him. "Come on. I'll have my driver just phone
him in case." He told her. HyeonMi nodded and hopped into
the limo beside him, sliding on the leather seats. She
buckled her seatbelt and the driver took off to her house.
"How'd your art class go?" He asked her. "It was good."
She said. He nodded. The drive seemed to last more than
fifteen minutes, and she wondered if there was traffic or
something. She couldn't see the driver because
the tinted window was pulled up in front of them. She
looked out at the tinted windows and it seemed like
they were taking a different route. "Are you still
trying to figure out what's missing?" He asked her.
HyeonMi shook her head. "HyeonMi." He said seriously.
She turned to glance at him. "Deh?" She replied.
"I'm..in love with you." He said sincerely. She was taken
aback, her eyes widening slightly. "Hahaha. Oppa. That's
a good one!" She said, although she knew he was serious,
she tended to joke at the wrong time. "I'm serious."
He said. "Oh. Well, I'm in love with you too." She
admitted softly. They came to a stop and unbuckled
their seatbelts. "Do you want to know something else?"
He asked as he slid over the seats next to her, as her
heart started to pound. "W-what?" She said.
"I think I know what you're missing." He said and then
leaned in, as she reflexively closed her eyes, until
his lips met her own, kissing her softly. He pulled
back. "Sarang." He said. HyeonMi smiled and they left
the limo, and much to her surprise they were at Lotte
World. "Huh?" She said, confused. JaeJin smiled and
took her hand. "Come on." He said, as they walked into
the amusement park.
