while listening to her ipod. She walked across the campus,
admiring the scenery. Spring had started. THe grass
was bright green, the birds chirped, and the many different
flowers were in bloom. She took a few photographs of
the scenery with her camera. Then she sat down on
one of the stone-like benches of the campus, underneath
the shade of a tree. Other students walked by, going to
lunch, or heading off to their next classes. She pressed
a button on the camera, to look through her photos, she
smiled as she saw a picture of her and her best guy friend
Ryeowook. They were both grinning widely, as SoRi made
a peace sign with her hand. She was in love with him.
if someone who didn't know them had seen that picture,
they would have thought that the two were a couple.
SoRi sighed. "If only." She thought. Then she turned off
her camera, putting it into her messenger bag, and
walked across the campus to her next class.
Later on that day, since it was a Friday, SoRi went
around the mall with some friends to go shopping. "Unnie,
you should wear this." Yuri said, holding up a gold, A-line
dress, that hit a few inches above the knees. "For?" SoRi
asked her, as Yuri handed her the hanger. "Uh, I don't know.
Some special occasion?" She said. SoRi took the dress and
went into the dressing room. After a minute, she came out,
examining herself in one of the full length mirrors of
the shop. "Wahh. Unnie. you should get it." Yuri said.
"Hmm. I don't know." SoRi said hesitantly, but she did
like the way it looked. "Okay." She said, and bought it.
After browsing through a few more stores, she and Yuri
ate lunch and then left to go back to their houses.
A week later, it was SoRi's birthday. Her friends wanted
to make it very special for her. They had booked the
ballroom of the Plaza Hotel. SoRi got ready a few hours
earlier. She took a shower, and blow dried her hair, letting
it hang in a loose updo. She then slipped on the gold dress
she had bought the week before. She curled her eyelashes,
applied mascara, and just a touch of a pinkish blush.
Then she slipped on silver open toed shoes with a slight
heel. Then she went around her house for a few hours,
waiting, then headed over to the hotel. She mingled with
her friends and family, they all complimented her on her
dress, and she thanked them. "Isn't Ryeowook oppa supposed
to be here?" She asked Yuri. "He should be here soon." Yuri
said, hours passed and he didn't show up. SoRi was
dissapointed. Everyone cleaned up and said their goodbyes
wishing her a happy birthday. When SoRi left, it was pretty
dark outside, a few lights lighting the walkway. She
was walking to her car, when suddenly the fountain lit up.
She looked surprised and became even more so, as Ryeowook
appeared around it. He was dressed in a dress shirt, and
tie. He smiled as he walked to her and said. "Sorry I'm
late. You look really pretty." He said. SoRi blushed
slightly as they stood in front of the lit up fountain.
"Oppa. The party's over already. How come you couldn't
come sooner?" She asked him. "I couldn't come sooner,
because I wanted it to just be the two of us, the last
hour before your birthday officially ends." He explained.
SoRi was surprised. "What do you mean?" She asked.
He smiled and went around the fountain again, and
came back with a small teddy bear with a lollipop, along
with a red rose. SoRi gasped. "SoRi. I've known you for
five years now, and we've become really good friends. And
along the way, I realized that, I started to have feelings
for you as more than a friend. I'm in love with you. And
I also want to say, sorry if you don't feel the same way,
and then you might feel bad for rejecting me on your
birthday, but I understand." He finished speaking. SoRi
looked up at him, surprised, happy and somewhat speechless.
"I'm not going to reject you oppa. I'm in love with you
too." She admitted softly. He smiled at her, and handed
her the bear, holding the rose and lollipop. She smiled
back and hugged it for a moment, then placed it down
next to the fountain. He then started singing "Happy
Birthday" "Happy Birthday dear SoRi, yeongwonhi saranghae."
He sang, changing the last words of the song. She
smiled. "Komawo oppa. Nado saranghae." She said.
He smiled and they both sat down at the edge of the
fountain. Then he gently took her face in his hands.
She closed her eyes as his lips met hers softly, her
heart pounding, as they kissed.
