day, and drove back to her apartment. She was in the
living room, cleaning her coffee table, when her
phone rang. She looked at the caller ID, not recognizing
it, but answered it anyway. "Hello?" She said as she
picked up old papers from her coffee table, walking over
to the trash and dumping them in. "SooIn?" A male
voice said. "Oh, JaeJoong right?" She said.
"Yeah. How'd you know?" He said. "Oh, I don't know,
there's just something in your voice I guess." She said.
He laughed lightly. "Really? Well, how would you like
to have dinner tonight?" He asked her. She smiled
lightly, though he couldn't see her. "I'd like that."
She said. "Really?" He said. "Yeah. But I'd have to
check my schedule though." She teased him lightly.
"You do that." He said. "Hold on, I'll go check my
planner." She said with a laugh. She waited a few seconds,
then said. "Hmm. Looks like I'm free. Sometimes I forget
if I have plans or not, being that I'm so busy." She
said again. "Really?" JaeJoong said, sounding
amused. "Yeah. So, how does 7 o' clock sound to you?"
She asked him. "Sounds perfect. I know this really
good club.." He started to say. "Oh, I'm not really
into clubs." SHe said. "Oh, well I know this great
winery.." He started to say again. "Oh, I'm not a fan
of alcohol. Even wine." She said. He seemed surprised.
"Oh, well, I think I know just the place then. Dinner
at a restaurant, movie at my place?" He suggested.
"Sounds perfect." She quoted his words from earlier.
"Alright. It's a date then." He said. "Maybe." She
said lightly, and they both laughed, then hung up.
SooIn got up from the couch, and walked over
to her bathroom, taking a shower, then slipping into a
simple black A-line dress. She curled her eyelashes,
and applied a single coat of mascara to her upper lashes,
and a slightly berry hued lipcolor, keeping her look
as natural as possible. She spritzed on a little bit
of Daisy Marc Jabos perfume, and slipped on low silver
peep toe heels. She pulled her hair back in a loose updo.
Then checked the time. She took the elevator down to the
first floor, and walked out to the front of the
apartment complex, where JaeJoong was waiting in his
silver sports car. He got out and opened the passenger door
for her. She thanked him and went inside. He came back
around to the driver's side. "You look really nice."
He told her. "Thanks. You don't look to bad yourself."
She said with a smile. He looked very sharp in a white
dress shirt, and black tie, and black dress pants.
He gave a small smile and started the car, and they
took off. They arrived a quaint little restaurant.
He paid the valet and handed him the keys, and he drove
off to park JaeJoong's car. JaeJoong and SooIn walked
into the restaurant, where a maitre'd seated them.
She looked around, at the Italian type of scenery
around the place. "Wah. This place is so nice." She
said. JaeJoong smiled. "May I take your order sir
and miss?" A waiter said, arriving at their table.
"I'll have the penne chicken rustica." JaeJoong ordered.
"And to drink?" The waiter asked him. "What do you have
on your wine specical today?" He started to ask, but
saw SooIn just glancing at him. "I mean, I'll have
a mango iced tea." He ordered. "Excellent choice sir.
And for you miss?" He asked SooIn. "I'll have the
four cheese tortelinni with marinara sauce, and rasberry
lemonade." She ordered. "Excellent. I'll take your
menus, and your orders should arrive shortly." The waiter
said, and then left. SooIn glanced back at JaeJoong.
"So, you're into wine?" She asked him. "Not really."
He said. She smiled, smirking a little. "I saw you
changed your mind about your drink order after I glanced
at you." She said, stirring the water with a lemon slice
that was already served to them. "My change of mind
had nothing to do with that." He said. "Really? Well
either way, I'm glad you chose not to drink. Even if it's
a little." She said. He nodded. "So what school do you
go to?" He asked her. He was wondering to himself, why
he was doing the polite conversation, usually by now,
he'd be seated next to the girl, telling her how amazing
she looked in her dress, and she'd usually be pretty
drunk by now. It was a puzzlement to himself. "I go
to KyungHee university." She told him. "Oh. That's a
good school. I go to DongGuk." He told her. She nodded.
"Oh, I hear they have very good extra curriculars
there." She told him. He nodded. "Yeah. There's a wide
range of classes to choose from." He said. "So, tell me.
Why did you ask me out?" She asked him very frankly.
He looked surprised. "Well, like you said there's
something in my voice, there's just something in your
eyes. It intrigues me." He said in a low voice.
SooIn blushed slightly. "With words like that, I'm
surprised you don't have girls all over you." She
said with a laugh. JaeJoong smiled. "I'm surprised
myself." He joked. And she laughed again. He had never
heard a laugh with such an airy, almost melodious sound
like her own. Soon their food came and they ate, talking
some more. They finished their food and shared a
tiramisu, then he paid for the bill. They walked out of
the restaurant driving back to his place. She was amazed
at his loft. "Your loft is amazing." She commented, looking
around at the modern but comfortable feel. On the
far left wall, was a large abstract painting, and to the
right, was the spiral staircase that led up to his room,
and two other guest rooms. And the large flat screen
tv on the right wall. She took of her shoes and left them
at the doorway, then they walked over to the couch, and
she sat down, while he looked for a good DVD to put in.
"How about 'Someone Behind You?'" He suggested a korean
thriller movie. She nodded. And he put that DVD in.
He excused himself for a moment, then went to the
kitchen, and filled up two champagne glasses. Then came
back to the living room, offering SooIn a glass.
She shook her head, with a small smile. "If I didn't
know any better, I'd think you were trying to get me
drunk." She said jokingly. He smiled. "Course not."
He said and left the champagne glasses on the coffee
table untouched. He picked up the remote and pressed
play. And gave SooIn a small quilt blanket to put over
herself. "Thanks." She said, placing it over her legs
and pulling it up to her lap. She leaned on his
shoulder, and he could smell the faint scent of
perfume on her skin. Here and there, a scary scene
would come on, and she would clutch onto his
shirt sleeve. JaeJoong would chuckle and say,
"It's just a movie." He said, trying to reassure her.
Soon the movie finished and SooIn had fallen asleep.
He gently got up off the couch, and looked down at her.
"This girl, has been the hardest challenge. But she's
different." He said to himself silently. He gently
scooped her up, and walked up the spiral staircase,
bringing her to one of the guest rooms. And tucking her
in. Then he scrawled a small note and placed it on
the nightstand, for her to see when she woke up.
He walked down the second floor hallway and went to
his own room, slipping out of his dress shirt, tie,
and dress pants, and changing into sleeping clothes
and went to his bathroom, brushing his teeth, and
then going to bed.
The following morning, SooIn woke up to the sun
shining down on her face, she stretched, yawning,
and sat up, then realized she wasn't at home.
"OMO. I fell asleep here?" She said, then glanced over
at the nighstand. A note was there, from JaeJoong, telling
her that she fell asleep and he didn't want to wake her
so he just brought her there. "Oh. Hmm." She said, and
could smell food cooking. She got up, went to the
guest bathroom, and washed her face, gargling, then
combed her hair a little, and went downstairs to the
kitchen, where JaeJoong was cooking. "Hey. You should've
woken me up." She said, still slightly tired.
He smiled. "It's okay. I'm used to my guy friends
falling asleep on that couch, but then I wake them
up and tell them to go home already." He said with
a smile. SooIn smiled back and sat down at one of
the kitchen stools. "Hungry?" He asked her. She nodded
and he gave her a plate of mushroom and cheese omelet,
toast, with a side of jam, a blueberry muffin, canadian
bacon and a cup of hot coffee. He sat down next to her
and they both ate. She glanced at the time on his
microwave. "OMO. I'm gonna be late for work!" She
exclaimed and quickly finished up her food, going over
to the sink, washing her plate. "Thanks JaeJoong
again, I'll see you!" She said quickly, and grabbed
her purse, slipping on her heels in the doorway, and
leavinghis apartment quickly. He was stunned and she
quickly came back in a few seconds later. "Uh, I forgot, I
didn't drive here." She told him, slightly embarrased.
He smiled and got up from the stool, getting his car keys.
"I'll give you a ride." He said and drove her to her
apartment, so she could go in and change first. She
thanked him and he drove off back to his place.
Later on that day, he was at Donguk University
as his friends were asking him questions. "Hey hyung,
where were you?" Junsu asked him. "He was probably
with Boa." ChangMin said. "Or Seulgi." Yunho added.
"Or Yeonhee." YooChun said. JaeJoong shook his head.
"I was with SooIn." He told them. The guys whistled low.
"Another one? Really hyung." Yunho said in disbelief
and admiration. "We are truly not worthy." YooChun
smirked. "So is she hot?" JunSu asked. "She's cute,
but I like her, cause it's a challenge to get to her."
JaeJoong said. The guys nodded and walked down the hallway.
"SooIn customer!" Her manager called to her,
from the back room of the coffee shop. "Neh." She
called back and adjusted her green apron, and walked over
to the cashier side of the coffee shop, and she was
surprised to see JaeJoong there. He smiled and she smiled
back. "Hey, what can I get you?" She asked him.
"Well, I'd like a second date, with this girl I went
out with last night." He said. SooIn smiled back.
"Really? Well, I think she'd like that too." She
said softly. "Really? How about a daytime date then?
Say at three?" He suggested. She nodded. "Sure. I get off
in a few minutes anway." She told him. He waited
at one of the tables and she soon came around
leaving the work station and took off her apron, leaving
for the day. He got up and they walked a few blocks
to Panera, a quaint bistro that served soup and
fresh sandwhiches. "Did you go to school yet?" He
asked her. "Yeah. You?" She asked him. He nodded.
They ate their fresh sandwhiches with salad that
had strawberries and rasberry vinagretee, and talked
some more.
Weeks passed by, and JaeJoong found himself canceling
out on Boa, Yeonhee and SeulGi to spend more time with
SooIn. The guys noticed this and called him out on it.
"Yah hyung, are your player days over? You've been
with SooIn and ignoring your other three girlfriends
how long now?" Yunho asked him. "Yeah hyung, usually
you'd hook up with a girl after a few days, then move
on, with Boa, SeulGi and Yeonhee being the regulars."
ChangMin added. They were all in another club, and
SooIn after spending more time with JaeJoong finally
relented into going to one. Unfortunately, she had
just come back from the ladies room when she heard
the guys say all this.

"Three girlfriends?!" She said in disbelief. Jaejoong
turned around from the bar, and looked at her wide eyed.
"SooIn. No. I.." He started to say, she slapped him
hard across the face. "I should've known." She said,
shaking her head, and turning around, to walk out of
the club, but he grabbed her wrist, turning her back
around to face him. "Let go." She said firmly.
"No. Listen to me." He said. "No. You listen to me.
Of all people. I really should've known. You fooled
me well, Kim JaeJoong. So I'm just girl number four
huh? Is that it? I was so stupid. Thinking "Oh, wow.
He cooks. He's so sweet, it was all part of your
game huh? Just another girl to check off of your list.
You've already been through the slutty one, the
easy one, the ditzy one, and what am I? The naive
and innocent one? I f$%(%* can't believe this! I
let myself fall into all of your games, and for what?
I gave my f%(*%% virginity to you! And this is how
I find out it was all a f$)C(#! mistake?!" She cursed
at him. The whole club went silent. "SooIn I.." He
tralled off. "Shikiro! (Shut up) I don't want to
hear it. I don't ever want to see you again!" She
shrieked at him, pulling her arm out of his grasp
and storming out of the club. "Wow." The guys
said, rubbing the back of their heads and turned back
around to continue drinking. "I gottta go." JaeJoong
said. "Hyung, you've really lost your touch." ChangMIn
said. "I don't f$(%)!@ care anymore!" He yelled back
and rushed out of the club. He drove over to SooIn's
banging on her apartment door. "Go away!" She called out
to him. "SooIn. Please just let me explain!" He
told her. "No. Go before I call the cops on you."
She said to him. A neighbor beside SooIn's apartment
opened the door. "Young man, listen to her, or I
am going to call the police myself if you don't
stop that racket!" A cranky old woman said.
JaeJoong bowed and left the apartment complex.
SooIn slid down onto the floor, her knees to her chest,
crying. "I gave him everything. Everything." She said,
softly.
The following day, JaeJoong went over to the coffee
shop, where SooIn worked. But he was told that she
took the day off. He drove over to her apartment again.
And knocked on the door. "Who is it?" She asked.
"Delivery." He said in a different voice. She
went over and opened her door, as he was not seen in
front of the peephole. He quickly appeared and pushed
himself into the apartment. "Get out. I'll call
the police I swear." She said to him. "SooIn, please.
All I'm asking for is for you to listen to me. I'm
not telling you that you have to believe me." He said.
She sighed and she sat down at the couch in her living
room, while he sat at the opposite recliner chair.
"Yes, I was seeing three other girls. And at first,
it was only a challenge to get to know you. But
I stopped seeing them soon after I continued seeing you.
I swear. And you're the only one I've ever slept with
I swear." He said.
"What about that girl Boa getting drunk? What happened
then?" She asked him, her eyes hard. He sighed and
explained.
[Flashback]
He helped Boa into the hotel room, and closed
the door behind him. He placed her on the bed gently,
and went to the bathroom, placing a cold washcloth
over her forehead. She knocked out almost instantly and
he slept on the reclining chair.
[End of flashback]
"But what about SeulGi?" She asked him.
[Flashback]
JaeJoong and SeulGi were in a taxi as she tried
to kiss him, but he pushed her away lightly. "Look
I'm just not in the mood." He told her. She looked
at him in disbelief. "Kim JaeJoong not in the mood?
The one time a girl's willing to give it without
being drunk and your passing?" She said. He nodded.
"Look. I'll take you back to your place." He said.
"So you're not really like everyone says you are?
Wait till I tell your friends." She said. "Fine. Like
they'll believe you, over me." He said. She scoffed
and he dropped her off at her place.
[End of flashback]
"And Yeonhee?" SooIn asked him finally. "She was
just a girl that I was seen with around campus.
I never did anything with her." He said. "But why
the lies then? You weren't man enough to tell your
friends you didn't want to be a player? So you lied"
She said, in disapproval. He sighed. "I know. I did.
SooIn, I'm not expecting you to accept me after
this. But ever since I met you, I've changed. I told
my friends I didn't give a sh%# anymore if they thought
I lost my touch. I've spent more time with you than
any other girl. You're the only one that I could truly
be myself with. To show you I cook, to joke with you.
If you ask the guys I almost never smile, but I found
myself smiling with you. You're the only girl I've ever
felt comfortable enough with, to give everything to.
And I swear to you, you are my first also. SooIn ah,
I know that I've hurt you, probably more than anyone
else has, and I've hurt myself too. But I have never
meant anything more, when I tell you, that I really love
you." He said. He had looked at her as if he was trying
to see right through her and she had to look away for
a moment. But then she burst out crying. He got up
from the recliner chair, walking over to her, and wrapping
his arms around her, hesitantly at first, but she didn't
push him away, and he tightened his grip around
her. "Babo." She sniffed. He smiled, and pulled back
a little, wiping away her tears, gently with his
thumb. She looked back up at him. "I love you too. But
I swear if anything like this ever happens again.
I'm dumping your ass." She said. He laughed. "I promise
it won't." He said. She gave him a small smile, and
he took her face in his hands, gently, kissing her
softly, and she kissed him back. It looks like it
wasn't all about the chase after all.
