"Yah Eunhee, give me some of your candy." A eight year
old boy said to a eight year old EunHee, as she
sat at the swings eating her goody bag of candy.
"Shiro." She said, refusing to give him any. The
little boy snatched the bag from her hand, running off
with it. "Yah!" She called, going after him. He ran
off down the street. She followed after him, but ended
up losing him and ended up in an alley, and started
to get scared. She saw a few thugs appear.
They glanced at her, and her eyes widened. "Hey, little
girl, what are you doing out here?" One of the men said.
She froze, silent. They started to approach her and she
quickly ran away from them, but really had nowhere to
go, and she was close to being cornered at the end
of the alley. "HELP!!!!!!!" She screamed as loud
as possible. The men started to advance toward
her. "YAH!" A young male's voice said. The four
thugs looked behind them. And Eunhee, and them,
saw a young boy of about 10, who was somewhat tall
and lanky for his age. The guys smirked.
"Go away kid." One of them said. "Let her go." The
young boy said firmly. "Aish." Another one said,
and was just about to swing a bat at the young boy,
and Eunhee screamed, but he ducked and punched
him square in the gut, and he brought down the other
three men as well. Eunhee still looked scared.
But the young boy spoke to her gently. "Come on."
He said, taking her hand and leading her out of
the abandoned alley way and they ran down the
street together, until they came around the corner
back to the park. They stopped running, panting.
"Komawo." EunHee said to her anonymous hero.
The young boy nodded, patting her on the head
lightly. "Stay out of trouble kid." He said, and
then left. EunHee stood there, staring after the
boy, not even knowing his name. She really wanted
to know who he was. She sighed and walked home.
[Present day]
"Eunhee ah, just give up on him. He could be
anywhere. You don't even know his name." Her friend,
Yuli said. EunMi sighed as they sat the lunch table
of their highschool, eating lunch. "Yeah, but..I just
wish I could've at least known his name." EunMi said
wistfully. Her friend nodded. A group of guys were
passing their table, and one of them stopped at
her table. "EunMi ah, are you going to dance
practice later?" Junho asked her. "Yeh oppa." She
said nodding. Junho smiled and walked down the cafeteria
to the senior table with his friends. "You really should
forget that guy from six years ago, when Junho shi,
seems to like you." Yuli said in a sing song voice.
"Junho oppa? We're just friends. And how can I forget
the guy who saved me?" EunHee said. Yuli shook her
head. "Chingu, you're wasting your time." She told
her bluntly. Eunhee shook her head. "I know I'll find
a way to see him again." She said determinedly.
"Ah rah suh." Yuli said and the bell rang and they
went to their next classes.
"Alright. Starting today, you will all be
learning the tango. This is part of our spring
showcase for our school. I'll let you choose your
own partners. Go." Their dance instructor Miss Moon
said. "Eunhee ah." Junho said, walking up to her.
"Oppa, wanna be partners?" She said. He smiled.
"That's what I was going to ask you." He said.
She smiled back nodding and they stood next to each
other, as everyone else found their partners, and
Miss Moon started directing them in their dance.
"This tango, you have to feel it. The passion. The
heat. The sensuality of this type of dance, has to
be shown through your movements, making sure they
are very smooth and fluid movements." Miss Moon
said. EunHee and Junho tried to do this, but she
burst out laughing the first time. "I'm sorry oppa.
It's just a little weird for me." She said, apologizing.
"That's okay." He said. They tried to go through the
steps again, with passion, as Miss Moon called it.
They looked at each other intently, as they did their
spin, and he lifted her, then she did a half split on
the ground. "Very Good. Miss Park and Mr. Lee.
This is how it is done." Miss Moon said. Eunhee
and Junho smiled, slightly embarrased, bowing and
thanking her and they went on again with their
practice.
