SunMi called to her. MiYoung sniffed and opened the
stall door. SunMi gasped. "MiYoung, why are you crying?"
SunMi asked her, worriedly. MiYoung got up from
the closed seat of the toilet, then walked out of the
stall to the sinks, and started washing her face.
"Minho likes someone else. He's going out with HyeRung
unni now." She said. SunMi sighed in sympathy for her
friend. "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that." SunMi said,
sad for her friend. "It's okay Unni. And I was even
the one who told him to confess! And he goes to HyeRung
unni! Aish." MiYoung said in frustration. After
she had dried her face, SunMi helped her apply some makeup
so she wouldn't look like she'd been crying.
"Well, now that you know he likes someone else, you're
going to have to hide the fact that you're upset." SunMi
told her. MiYoung nodded. They left the bathroom and
walked down the hallway to their classes, when they
spotted Minho at one corner of the hallway walking
HyeRung to her class. He gave her a quick kiss on the
lips, and MiYoung thought she would die any moment.
But she took in a deep breath, as SunMi looked at her
in worry. "Come on Unni." She said, and walked down
the opposite hallway to their class.
"Now the purpose of this form of exercise is
a way of venting your feelings. I want all of you to
write down exactly what you are feeling at this very
moment. No one will need to see it. When you are ready,
you can crumple it up and throw it in this metal
waste basket, and we will do a burning of these things."
Mr. Son, their psychology teacher instructed the class.
MiYoung sighed and started writing.
"At this very moment, in all honesty I feel, dejected,
dissapointed, sad, lonely, shocked, confused. I've never
experienced heartbreak before but I am very sure that
this is it. When I saw Minho oppa go over to HyeRung
unni, at the very moment, when she smiled and hugged him,
I thought that my whole world had ended. I was so
surprised. I felt stupid in telling him to confess.
Did I actually think that that there was a possibility
that it could've been me? Sure, I'm his best girl friend.
Girl friend, and not girlfriend. There's a difference.
But that's all I am to him. I think I must've fallen for
oppa the very first day, when he stood up for me. Up till
now, I still don't know what those guys meant. But that's
not the point that I am trying to make. I guess I just
had my hopes too high. I guess I read the wrong signals,
watched too many dramas, all those things. I really like
Minho oppa. But now I know he doesn't like me that way.
And my heart feels like it has been stomped on many times,
and just ripped into millions of pieces. Glass must be
what my heart is made of, because it seems like from that
very moment, that I knew they got together, my heart
shattered into millions of tiny little fragments. And
I honestly don't know if I can pick them back up, and
piece them back together. Maybe I'll just sweep them
all away, and never even bother trying to like someone
again. I was so foolish into thinking that there was
actually a chance that he liked me. Naega pabo yah."
She wrote quickly, her pen digging into the paper. Then
she was done. She quickly crumbled the paper, and then
she and her other classmates dumped it into the wastebasket
and the teacher lit it on fire, as they watched the
papers slowly starting to burn. But then he exclaimed.
"OMO. I did one too and I put it on an important paper on
accident!" He exclaimed, and stopped the burning of the
papers. He shuffled through the papers, careful not
to glance at any one too long, since he had promised
privacy until he had found his paper, and took it out,
then continued the burning, as everyone sighed in relief.

MiYoung left her class, and started walking down the
hallway when she saw Minho and HyeRung, by the lockers
at the opposite hallway, talking and laughing, as she
felt a pang of jealousy in her heart. She stood to one
side, frozen, and watched in horror, as he brushed
a strand a hair away from her face, and leaned in closer
to HyeRung, kissing her softly, as he leaned his arm on
the lockers. MiYoung then bit her lip, looking away
and quickly walked down the hallway, pushing through the
double doors of their high school, and running home.
She ran to try and get rid of those unsettling feelings
and thoughts, but they stuck to her like glue. She
finally made it home, and quickly went inside her house,
and ran up the stairs to her room. She closed her door,
and turned on her stereo, listening to "Don't Cry" by
ShinDong, loudly as she sat at the foot of her bed,
trying not to cry again. She sighed and laid back on her
bed, and rolled over on her side, as she let tears fall
down the side of her face. "I have to get over him."
She thought, and hugged her cinnamoroll pilow tightly.
Weeks passed by, and she was slowly getting better
at hiding her sadness about Minho and HyeRung. The two
seemed to be getting along well. She figured that she
would just have to move on.
One day, Minho, HyeRung, MiYoung, SunMi, SeungRi,
Key and SongYee were at their school's basketball game.
They all watched together, and cheered for their team as
they scored. After the game, they all started to
make their way down off of the bleachers, when Minho
was following behind the rest of the group, and
he tripped, and did a face plant. The whole group laughed,
but not MiYoung who daintily climbed up the bleachers
and helped him up. "Oppa kwenchana?" She asked him
as he slowly stood back up. Their eyes locking for a
moment. "Yeah. Thanks." He said. "Come on Minho. We're
gonna be late for my hair appointment." HyeRung called
up to him with a smile. MiYoung wanted to slap her
for laughing at him, and not even asking how he was,
but refrained. Minho quickly said goodbye to MiYoung
and followed HyeRung out of the gym. MiYoung sighed and
left with SeungRi and SunMi, saying goodbye to SongYee
and Key. SeungRi drove MiYoung home and she thanked him
for the ride and said goodbye to SunMi as well. She closed
the backdoor of the passenger side, and waved to the two
as he drove out of her neighborhood. She was about to
go into her house, but decided to take a walk. She walked
a few blocks to her local supermarket to buy some
chocolate. When she entered the cold air of the place
was sudden, but it was refreshing to her. She smiled
a little, and walked over to the candy aisle to buy
a few bars of chocolate. She wasn't going to eat it all
in one sitting of course. She sighed, remembering how
she used to share with Minho, but now lately he was
practically playing the peppero game with HyeRung everytime
she had pocky. She shook her head, wanting to get the image
out of her mind. She was just on her way to the cashier,
when she spotted HyeRung, with another guy. Her eyes
widened. "Maybe it's her brother?" She thought and waited
awhile, as she saw HyeRung and the guy talking and
laughing, and then they kissed passionately for a moment.
"Okay not her brother." She thought. "She's cheating
on Minho oppa?" She thought in disgust. She walked over
to where HyeRung and the guy were. "HyeRung unni?" She
said. HyeRung looked at her, giving her a smile.
"Oh dongseng. This is WooBin, he's.." She started to say,
but was interrupted. "Unni. How can you cheat on Minho
oppa?" MiYoung asked her. HyeRung's eyes widened.
"Mwoh?" She said. Then MiYoung turned to the guy.
"Do you know she's dating someone younger than her,
besides you?" She asked him. HyeRung turned to WooBin
quickly. "I have no idea what she's talking about."
She said to him. MiYoung sighed and turned back to HyeRung.
"Fine. Don't admit it. But unni, Minho oppa doesn't
deserve this. And you know that." She said firmly.
HyeRung scoffed. "I don't need to hear any of this.
Come on oppa." She told WooBin and the two turned away
from her, moving to a different part of the market.
MiYoung sighed and forgot about buying chocolate and
left the supermarket, going over to Minho's house.
She rang the doorbell and he opened the door, surprised
to see her. "MiYoung, hey come on in." He said.
She went inside the Choi residence, and they sat down
in the living room. "So, what's going on?" He asked
her. As he sat in a recliner chair next to her.
She sighed. "Oppa, I have something to tell you."
She said. He looked at her worriedly. "What?" He
said. "HyeRung unni, she, I was at the supermarket, and
I saw her with another guy." She told him. Minho smiled.
"It's probably her cousin or brother." He said.
"She was making out with him." MiYoung said.
Minho looked surprised now. "Are you sure?" He asked
her. "Oppa, I saw it with my own two eyes." She said.
He just looked at her blankly. She sighed, and without
any thought whatsoever, took his hand and dragged him
out of the house, to the supermarket. When they got there,
she let go of his hand. And looked around for HyeRung
and WooBin but there was no sign of them. "I don't see
them." He said. "Just wait." She said and went over to talk
to one of the managers. "Is it possible to see the
surveillance tape? It's really important." She explained.
The manager looked at her unsure, but finally relented.
She and Minho walked over to the side of the supermarket,
and watched on one of the t.v. monitors, the surveillance
tape, she asked the man there, to forward a little,
then said. "Stop, right there." She said and he pressed
play on that part. She and Minho watched as HyeRung
and another guy walked around getting groceries and
she saw the look of pain and horror on his face as the
guy and HyeRung started kissing. "stop it please." She
told the man in charge of the video, so Minho wouldn't
have to see anymore. "I, guess you're right." He said,
a look of disbelief on his face. She looked at him
in sympathy, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry
oppa. You deserve better." She told him. He nodded.
And then more of the video continued to play, and
he said. "hey, wait." As he saw MiYoung going to talk
with HyeRung. "Uh, we don't need to see this part."
She said, but Minho stopped her from trying to stop the
video. She watched in worry as he heard her little speech
to HyeRung. "Oppa deserves better and you know that."
She said. Then the tape ended. Minho looked at
Miyoung. "Thanks for that too." He said. She nodded.
"What are friends for?" She said, with a small smile.
He gave a small smile back, and her heart thumped a little
inside her chest, and she was surprised. They left the
supermarket, and walked down the streets for awhile.
"I'm really sorry about HyeRung unni, oppa." She told
him again. He nodded. "It's okay. I guess I should've
seen it coming." He said. "Aww, don't be like that oppa."
She said. He gave her a sad smile, similar to the one
she had before. "I guess I should get going now." She
told him, and started to turn around, to walk home, but
he grabbed her hand, surprising her. "Hey, wait.
Wanna get something to eat or something?" He asked
her. "Um okay." She said, and he let go of her hand,
much to her dissapointment, and they walked down the
sidewalk to the nearest ramen place. They sat down
and ate their ramen, talking for awhile, then he paid
the bill, much to her protest. They left the restaurant,
and he walked her home. She waved goodbye, thanking
him. He waved back and walked back to his house.
The following day, he broke up with HyeRung first
thing in the morning, when she had tried to deny it,
but at the mention of the surveillance tape, she glared
at MiYoung from afar, who just shrugged. HyeRung stomped
off, infuriated. He walked over to MiYoung smiling.
"I guess she didn't take that very well." He said.
MiYoung nodded, smiling as well.

Weeks passed by, and MiYoung was happy again,
even if it meant just being friends with Minho. They
spent alot more time together. She was in her room,
spending her time, listening to music, when she received
a call from Minho, asking to meet at the bridge
overlooking their city plaza. She shrugged and put on
a jacket and walked over there. When she got there,
she saw him standing there, waiting. He saw her and
smiled. She walked over to him. "Hey oppa what's going
on?" She asked him. He said nothing and suddenly embraced
her tightly, as she went completely immobile from shock.
"Oppa." She said. "I'm sorry for hurting you." He
said. "Mwoh?" She said, confused. He pulled back,
and looked down at her. "I'm sorry for going out with
HyeRung nuna, and not knowing that you liked me. After
hearing your speech, standing up for me, and then I
thought about all the times we had, talking, sharing
chocolate, and when you were the only one who didn't
laugh when I fell on the bleachers, I realized I picked
the wrong girl." He said. She looked at him, dumbfounded.
"How did you..?" She started to say, and he pulled out
a wrinkled paper from his back pocket. And her eyes
widened, realizing it was her psychology venting paper.
"OMO. How did you get that?" She asked him. Mr. Sohn
gave it to me recently, after hearing around that I
broke up with HyeRung nuna. He said he didn't really read
it, but knew it was for me. He accidentally didn't
burn yours because it became stuck to an important paper
of his." He explained with a small smile. "Aigoo."
MiYoung said, embarrassed. He gave her a small shy
smile. "So, will you, Kim Miyoung be my girlfriend?"
He asked her. She blinked up at him, still in shock.
"I, yes. Oppa." She said a smile forming on her face.
He smiled back, and picked her up, spinning her around,
as she laughed, then set her back down on the ground,
as he leaned closer to her, his face inching slowly
toward her own, and she closed her eyes, until his lips
met her own, softly, as she kissed him back.
