as he watched his friend scarf down her bowl of ramen
quickly. She chewed her noodles carefully, then glanced
up at him. "Yah. You know I like to eat." She said.
"I know. You're still skinny though." He said.
SHe shrugged. He glanced at the time on his cellphone,
"Hey second half of school is going to start soon."
He said, placing a twenty dollar bill on the table, and
grabbed her hand, as he dragged her out of the
ramenhouse restaurant. She glanced at their linked
hands, and looked at his face, it was expressionless,
as he hurried over back to their University.
He finally let go when they got there. "Bye oppa."
RaeYoung said to Ryeowook, as they went to their next
classes. "Bye Rae." He said, smiling. She smiled
back and went to her next class.
"Yah! RaeYoung ah, where've you been?" Her friend JaeMin
asked her. She shrugged as she sat down in her seat.
"I was eating ramen with Ryeowook oppa." She said
nonchalantly. "Wah? He so likes you!" JaeMin said.
RaeYoung smiled, shaking her head. "We're just
friends." She said. JaeMin scoffed. "Whatever" She
said. The bell rang, and their professor came in to
start their lecture. RaeYoung listened intently.
After classes, she was walking home, when she
saw a little boy crying at the end of the street. She
went on her knees and talked to the boy gently.
"Annyeong. Joneun Raeyeong imnida. What's your name?"
She asked the boy with a smile. The little boy
sniffed. "I-Inhwan imnida." He said. "Nice to meet you
Inhwan. Now what's wrong?" She asked him. "I got lost
from my omma!" He said and started wailing again.
"OMO. I'll help you find your mom." RaeYoung said.
The boy stopped bawling and just sniffed. "Really?"
He said. RaeYoung smiled warmly, nodding and took
the little boy's hand. SHe went around the
nearby places, looking for Inhwan's mom, until they
saw her, calling for him. "Inhwan! Inhwan my baby!"
His mom called out. "Omma!" Inhwan said. She turned
and saw her son, relieved, and outstretched her arm
to him. She smiled gratefully at RaeYoung. "Thank you
so much." She said. RaeYoung bowed. "Your welcome."
She said, then left to go home.
The following morning, RaeYoung met up with
Ryeowook as usual, but he seemed a little quiet.
"What's wrong oppa?" RaeYoung asked, as they walked over
to their University. "Uh, nothing well." He
started to say. "Yeh?" She said, glancing at him.
"What would you say, if I told you that I liked you?"
He asked. Her eyes widened, but then she smiled, laughing
lightly. "That's funny oppa. I'll see you later okay?"
She said, and went inside the University ahead of him.
She sat in her first period, thinking about what he
said, and not listening to the morning announcements.
"And tomorrow there will be an Antidote Internationl
meeting in room 303. And on Friday we have our annual
twin dress up day..And then..." The announcer trailed
off as a loud clicking noise was heard.
"RaeYoung ah." Ryeowook's voice echoed throughout the
whole campus, and her eyes widened. JaeMin sat next
to her, surprised as well. "OMONA." She said in
disbelief. "I really meant it when It told you I liked
you this morning. Please believe me. You're the
only girl I know that thinks of everyone else before
herself, and always has a bright smile on her face.
I want to be one of the reasons you smile. Will
you be my girlfriend? I'll be waiting for your answer
outside the announcement room." He said, then the
PA system clicked off. Everyone started chattering and
RaeYoung hurriedly left the room. She scrambled down
the hallway, making a left, and stopped just in time
before colliding with RyeoWook. She stood in front of
him, slightly shy. He smiled at her. "Oppa, I..
I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings earlier, I was just
scared and unsure. But I.. I also want you to be one
of the reasons why I smile. I like you too." She
said, looking up at him. He smiled happily, and pulled
her to him, pressings his lips softly onto her own,
as she wrapped her arms around his neck, and the whole
student body, had ran over to see the outcome and
clapped for tne new couple.
