STORYLINE: Jonghyun likes Hyo Soo since pre school. Jonghyun were best friends when they were in pre school. But years came and now they're in high school. They drew apart since, Hyo Soo is now a popular and Jonghyun is a nobody. Then in Science, Hyo Soo got patnered with Jonghyun. After that project they got re-united. Jonghyun started showing his true feelings for Hyo Soo. [Playing with her hair, hugging her & etc.] That's where you start.

Hyosun....here's a necklace i made for you..." jonghyun handed her a flower necklace.
"thank you...and my name's not hyosun...its hyosoo...." she took it and smiled with a cute pout.
"ohhh...I’m sorry...i keep saying it wrong...will you forgive me?" he asked with his cute puppy eyes.
"yes i forgive you....after all you are my only best friend..." she hugged him
"you are the best!...one day I’m going to marry you!" jonghyun hug her back.
"we should go tell our parents!" they both ran off but sadly came back a few minutes later with bad news.
"I’m sorry...my mommy says i have to wait until i get older..." jonghyun said sadly sitting beside her under a tree.
"yea...my mommy said if i keep saying that I’m going to marry you...she'll have to punish me...." she pouted.
"it's ok...we can always stay friends..." he smiled.
"promise?" she bit her lip turning to face him.
"promise!" he stuck out his pinky and they both did a pinky swear.
[YEARS LATER]
"hyesoo-ah....lets go shopping later!" begged one of her friend.
"no!...i have a lot of other things to do..." she crossed her arms.
"aish..." her friend made a frowning face
"class....settle down!...." the teacher walked into class and began to take row.
class went on for hours and finally when the bell rang, every student rushed out of the class as if the ground would open up and swallow each and everyone of them in, except one person, jonghyun. he was the nerdy kid of the school, always scoring high on tests and he was practically the teacher's favorite. he slowly packed his books and then headed down to the library before class started again.
"hyesoo what are you looking at?" poke one of her friends.
"oh...nothing...." she smiled and took one last look at jonghyun before turning back to her friends.
"so....are you really gonna get with that guy who's been so into you lately?" ask her friend.
"who?" hyesoo raised an eyebrow.
"well...of course you should know who....the kingka Kim heechul duh!" her friend laughed.
"oh him...no...not my type!" she walked away.
"what do you mean?...you're the most popular girl on campus and he's the hottest....what's not hotter than that?"
"no matter what I’m not going out with him ok....could we not talk about him!" hyesoo rolled her eyes turning to look for jonghyun again but this time he was gone. she sighs sadly. she had missed hanging around with him, although they have spilt up a long time ago, he was still always consider her best friend. he was always goofy and fun to be around. someone who will always make her laughs and smiles
"lets go back to class!" her friend dragged her by the arm out of the library.
when they got back to class, jonghyun was already in there. he sat the opposite corner of her. his desk was by the door and hers was by the window.
"class...listen up!....LISTEN UP!" the teacher yelled from frustration while the students scramble up in the classroom trying to get to their seat.
"i am going to pair you all up with a partner and have you work on a project together....NUMBER 1 RULE: do not complain about who you get or else you're going to work by yourself in the teacher's lounge with all the teachers watching you!" she slam her hands on the desk, making a few students in the front row jump back a little.
"ok...ok.." all the students nodded while some groaned.
"now I’m going to start naming your partners....lets start with jonghyun..." she smiled sweetly to jonghyun. "jonghyun...your partner will be....hyosoo!"
hyosoo and jonghyun immediately look at each other and then turn away quick as they caught each other’s gazes.
'gosh....why her of all people?....she probably don't want to work with a loser like me...' jonghyun banged his head lightly on the desk
'Omg...what am i going to do?...we haven't even talk for ages...how is this going to work out?...does he hate me?' she frown.
"ok you may get started!" the teacher finished up the partnering and then everyone gather their stuff and started to move around except for jonghyun and hyosoo. they were the last to move.
"ummm...soo how do you want to start...." jonghyun said awkwardly, taking a seat in front of her.
"oh...uhh....I’m not sure....maybe you should start it...." she looked away fiddling with her fingers.
"no...you can..." he bit his bottom lip.
"no you can..." she pushed the papers towards him.
"GOD!...JUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND!...IT'S SO ANNOYING HEARING YOU TWO YAP ABOUT WHO'S GOING TO START!" yelled a boy, sitting next to them getting annoyed.
"mind your own business!" his partner hit him on the chest.
"it's not my fault they're so loud!" he angrily slumps down on his chair.
"oook....I’ll start then..." jonghyun and hyosoo both said at the same time.
"oh ok you can start then..." they both said again. 'shoot!...who's going to start then...." jonghyun thought.
"I’ll start it..." jonghyun grabbed the papers quickly and started to read while hyosoo manage to get the supplies together.
after an hour passed by, the groups were almost done. jonghyun and hyosoo had so much fun doing the project that they totally forgot which social group they were from. jonghyun was from the nerdy group and hyosoo, well of course she was from the popular group. everyone watched them in awe and confusion.
"how could a nerd and a popular get along so well?" one of the boys stared at them.
"it's almost as if they were a couple..." another girl blinked her eyes endlessly.
"they look so cute...." squeaked a girl.
"if a nerd can get close to a popular girl like that then maybe i have a chance too..." exclaimed a boy, who looked beyond his age.
"uhh...don't!" his friends nodded.
"OK class!...how's the project coming along?" the teacher walked up to jonghyun and hyosoo. she paused to look at their project and then at them.
"impressive jonghyun and hyosoo...you must have good chemistry in order to build that together in an hour...." the teacher complimented and then trailed off to the other projects.
"i guess we're done...." jonghyun smiled.
"yea...so...uh...is this it?" hyosoo bit her bottom lip, wishing it wouldn't be although she knew it would probably be.
"yup....i think so...after this everything will go back to normal...." jonghyun said sadly walking back to his seat.
and that was it. they never talked again nor even looked at each other for the past few weeks. not because they didn't want too, truth was, if they had the guts too they wouldn't mind staring at each other even if that was all they did in a day. jonghyun understood that since she was popular he couldn't be with her anymore like how he used to or look at her like how he used too when they were still younger because her extremely obsessed fan-boys would burry him alive if they found out he was anywhere close to her. she on the other hand knew that he wouldn't like her because she wasn't as smart as the other girls around him and she had this slight feeling of guilt inside of her for convincing herself to leave jonghyun. she thought she wasn't good enough for him so she wanted to prove to him that she can be good for him and that they can be together but then she failed to and now she didn't know how to return to him. she missed him so much sometimes she feels like the world will come tumbling down before her eyes.
hyosoo thought sadly to herself, walking into the music room until she heard someone singing from the piano. she entered the room slowly and snuck behind a large bookcase looking at that person, who turned out to be jonghyun. he sung so beautifully, every word melted her heart away as she listen closely until she heard her name in the song.
"could the song be about me?" she whispers to herself.
"who’s there?" jonghyun stopped singing, turning his gaze towards the door when she accidentally hit her foot on the door.
"its...me..." hyosoo finally stood up shyly.
"oh...it's you..uhh...how much of the song did you hear?"
"i only heard the middle to the end....but don't worry it's good..." she smiled. "mind if i play with you?" she bit her bottom lip hoping he wouldn't mind.
"yea sure.....just don't be too surprise if you hear rumors going around that the nerd of the school and the most popular girl are dating..." jonghyun joked.
"its ok....rumors mean nothing to me..." she smiled and then began playing a tune which sounded familiar to him. it was a tune that they both used to play when they were younger. jonghyun smiled and began to play along with her.
although the song was short, their time together in the music room lasted for hours and before they knew it, the sun was setting already and the room was beginning to darken up. that was when they both decided to go home.
"thank you for walking me home..." she stood by the gate entrance into her house.
"just doing me duty!" he flashed her a smile before walking away.
"umm...hey jonghyun!" she screamed out his name.
"yeah?" he turns to look at her.
"wanna hang out tomorrow?...it's Saturday" she bit her lips.
"why would you want to hang out with me?" he asks her confusedly.
"because.....i need some help on math...." she lied.
"well in that case...sure...." he smiled.
"by the tree tomorrow at 12pm..." she yelled from afar.
"do you even remember where it is?" he laughed.
"of course i do!" she pouted.
"alright....see you tomorrow....." he walked off waving.
"bye...walk safely...."
"oh...hyosoo...." he turned back to look at her
"yeah?" she turns to look at him confused.
"goodnight!" he smiled before walking off.
"goodnight!" she bit her lip happily, while her cheeks started to burn up.
"i missed you is what i really wanted to say..." jonghyun whispered to himself walking down the lonely road.
that night, it was hard for both jonghyun and hyosoo to sleep. they kept thinking about each other and couldn't hide the fact that they were really excited about tomorrow until they were sound asleep.
"i guess I’m early..." jonghyun laid down underneath the shady tree that they used to always sit under when they were little.
"jonghyun!" hyosoo shook jonghyun.
"you're finally here?..." jonghyun sat up with a crooked smile on his face.
"was i late?...did you wait long?....if so I’m sorry..." she frowned.
"babo....I’m just kidding!...i barely got here..." he muffled her hair with his hand.
"oh ok...in that case...are you hungry?" she asked excitedly.
"yeah...dying...." he joked.
"ok...i brought us food....your favorite...my mom's dumplings..." she made the lunch box visible and began opening it up. jonghyun's eyes widen from the sudden shock that she still remembered things about him.
"here....don't you want one?..mmmm.." she picked one up and shoved it into jonghyun's mouth while she stuff hers up as well.
"it's still as delicious as before...yumm...." jonghyun smiled with his mouth full.
they spent the rest of the day doing nothing but catching up to things they both missed out on each other. jonghyun told her about his journey of getting into SM entertainment, one of the biggest labels in Korea and she told him about her passion in becoming a fashion designer. they talked and talked for hours and this basically became their daily routine for the past few weeks. they would meet up everyday after school under the same tree and talk about many different things.
"hyosoo....can i ask you something?" jonghyun suddenly broke the silence as they both lay underneath the tree staring up to the stars that sparkled like diamonds in the sky.
"go for it..."
"why did you suddenly stop hanging out with me once we both entered high school?"
"do you really want to know?"
"yes but it's ok if you don't want to tell me....i understand....but don't you think it's strange how we always hang out like this now?..."
"no...why would i?"
"because....now that you're popular....and I’m just a nerd...aren't you afraid people will start rumors because you're hanging around with a loser like me?"
"you're not a loser!"
"well isn't that why you left me?....because now I’m just a total loser..." jonghyun smiled.
"stop saying that you're a loser....or else i won't talk to you anymore..." she pouted.
"great....then maybe you shouldn't talk to me anymore....I’m just a loser right?...." jonghyun painfully let out the words.
"i mean it...stop...." his words struck her heart so much that she felt like tearing it apart.
"i can't stop being a loser can i?"
"i said stop it!" she yelled as a few tears fell from her eyes.
"what if i don't?"
"......do you really want me out of your life that bad?" she stood up.
"it's for your own good....besides a loser don't go with a popular....and it never will...you should know that already...." he stood up as well.
"well....in that case.....I’ll be going home now..." she walked away.
"I’ll walk you home...." jonghyun traced behind her all the way to her house in silence until she went inside. although she didn't say a word to him, he was satisfy with what he got. he didn't expect to talk to her or walk with her again because of the harsh words that he had said to her. but all he wanted was what’s best for her. he didn't want rumors going around about them two, he didn't want people to mistreat her or say bad things about her because she was hanging around with him. he wanted to protect her and that was his only solution. to let her go and if god really didn't forbid them to be together, they would reunite again and keep their childhood promise alive and running once more.
for the past months, things did go according to what jonghyun had planned for. she went back to her group, and he went back to his. they stood separated for the rest of the school years. they never once spoke to each other as if a wall had bounded them from each other. they would try to catch a glimpse of each other at times but then never would let others see it. although they were separated, their love for each other ever died. it went on for as long as even when they entered college and that was when the sparks began to glow again.
one night, jonghyun decided to take a stroll around the park but ended up under their tree, like all the other walks that he had taken for the past years. and every time that he would go sit under the tree, memories of hyosoo would come rushing to him making him tear up but then he would hide it away from everyone else, the burden in his heart. he laid down beneath the tree like the night that he had pushed her away and stared up to the stars.
"hey...mind if i sit here?" a voice suddenly spoke up from beside him. he opened his eyes and the most beautiful girl that had haunted him every single night for the past years, stood before him. he was love struck all over again just staring at her beautifulness and all he could do was shook his head.
"so....how've you been?" hyosoo let out a sigh.
"good..and bad...you?"
"same...."
they sat in silence for long enough until she stood up to leave.
"well I’ll be going now...sorry for interrupting your thoughts..." she smiled to him.
"no problem..." he smiles back at her.
"bye..." she waved and then walked on.
"HYOSOO!....wait..." jonghyun suddenly shouted out her name after a few seconds of thinking.
"yeah?"
"would it be weird to say that.....i miss you...."
"...a little but....i...miss you too....." she let a tear dropped happy that she heard those words coming from his mouth.
"and would it be strange to say that....i love you....so much that it hurts..." jonghyun walked closer to her.
"a little but...why did you pushed me away?" she cried as he hugged her tightly
"because....i was an idiot....i didn't know a thing about love....i kept my silence and my fear from loving you....and that's why I’m hurting so bad.....can you stop the pain because i can't take it any longer..."
"only if you learn how to keep your promises...."
"I’ll keep my promises from now on....starting with this first one....I’ll promise not to let you go anymore...."
"pinky swear?" she stuck out her pinky.
"i swear...." he smiled before crossing his finger with hers and then sealed it with a sweet kiss.
