“Hey Xiao You! You look great. I mean perfect!” Mei Zhuo commented, giving her a warm hug.
“Yes, Canada has been good for you. How are you?” Lei said agreeing with what Mei Zhuo said earlier.
“I’m doing great. Actually I’m now living in Chicago.” She informed them.
“Really?” Lei asked.
“Yes.” She said in reply.
“What do you do for a living back there?” Mei Zhuo inquired.
“Well I have a business.” She proudly said to them.
“Oh I see, so what business are you in?” Dao Ming Si asked her.
“Umm..I’m into technology and stuff like that.”
“So what brings you here?” It was Lei’s turn to ask.
“I had a meeting and I wanted to visit Shan Cai since I rarely got to see her since I moved.”
Just then 2 limousines arrived in front of the Dao Ming Mansion. The butler immediately went out to see who just came. After a while, the butler came back and spoke.
“Miss Chien, your chauffeur is here.”
“Thank you.” She replied to the butler.
“Young Master, Young Master Ximen has arrived.” He informed Dao Ming Si but it fell on deaf ears, as Dao Ming Si was busy biding goodbye to Xiao You.
Xiao You bade goodbye to all of them and again apologized for her short visit and promised them that she’ll visit soon. As Shan Cai and Xiao You bid goodbye to each other, they were beginning to get teary-eyed for they really missed each other. Xiao You then reluctantly walked towards her limousine while Ximen on the other hand was heading inside the Dao Ming Mansion as Xiao You walked outside. They met halfway along the way and just merely nodded to acknowledge each other’s presence without uttering a single word.
All of them stared at Xiao You’s retreating form as Ximen walked inside without anyone recognizing his presence.
“When will she be back, Shan Cai?” Lei asked still staring at the limousine moving away from the mansion.
“Tuesday.” Ximen dryly said in reply making his existence known to them.
All of them turned to Ximen in shock for he knew when she would be back. For all they know they haven’t met yet.
“Ximen, why did you call?” Lei uttered snapping out from his shock.
“Well you just saw the reason why.” Ximen the moved towards the sofa and sat. All of them remained stationary to their position just staring at Ximen in awe.
“You knew?” Dao Ming Si asked Ximen incredulity.
“Yeah, just awhile ago.”
“Man, Xiao You does seem rich, don’t you think?” Mei Zhuo suddenly blurted out.
“I was just wondering about the same thing.” Dao Ming Si agreed with him.
“Yes, she did told us earlier that she had a business.” Lei answered him.
“But she missed a tiny detail.” Ximen said to them resting his back on the sofa emphasizing the word “tiny”.
“What?” Dao Ming Si asked again.
“She owns a multi-million company in Chicago.” Ximen informed them.
All of them now moved from their position quietly waiting for Ximen to fill them up with the details and sat together with him on the sofa.
“Really?” Shan Cai exclaimed in shock as she went closer to Ximen. “A multi-million company? Xiao You?”
“Yup.” Ximen responded to her.
“How did you know?” She asked as she settled beside him, eagerly waiting for his answer.
“I’m doing business with her.”
“So you met with her earlier.” Shan Cai stated.
“Yes, she owns Chien Group of Companies.” Ximen added.
“Wow, Xiao You has really been successful.” Mei Zhuo
commented.
“I heard a lot about that company, it seems that it has been really big in the United States.” Dao Ming Si added.
“And now they’re expanding in Asia as well.” Lei informed them.
“I’m so proud of her!” Shan Cai said as she clapped her hands together while the others were looking intently at Ximen who was very calm and composed as usual.
“What?” Ximen had the urge to ask after noticing their stares at him.
Dao Ming Si and Mei Zhuo looked at each other grinning mischievously while Lei was still sitting silently opposite Ximen. They felt that it was time for him to start working on his happiness. Fate has arranged everything for them to meet once again and it was now up to them to make it work. They were just praying that their friend was not too dumb to miss the chance again. They knew that Xiao You has changed a lot and that they could only hope that she loves him still.
“Pigheads!” Ximen uttered under his breath that made Lei, Mei Zhuo and Dao Ming Si laugh.
“Ei, Ximen. What do you think of Xiao You?” Mei Zhuo teased his brother. He knew that deep down his brother liked her but was way too afraid to admit it. They knew what he felt towards her even though he hadn’t spoke about it to them yet.
“She surely has changed.” Dao Ming Si continued.
“What do I think of her? Well, She’s great and smart not to mention successful.”
“Not that, you know what we mean, Ximen. Don’t play with us ” Dao Ming Si said to him irritably. His brother was more stubborn than he is when it comes to love, he would love punch him just to make him realize that he couldn’t live that way for the rest of his life anymore.
“She could surely pass as your meimei now, Don’t you think?” Mei Zhuo commented again, raising one of his eyebrows.
“What has gotten into you? You’re all crazy.” Ximen answered them looking innocently. “She’s XIAO YOU!”
“Crazy or not. It’s true.” Lei said trying to fish out something from Ximen.
“So what happened on the night that Xiao You came looking for you? Care to fill us with the details?” Mei Zhuo asked Ximen.
“Hey, you shut up! What happened that night is beyond us now and besides, Shan Cai will kill me if I do anything to Xiao You.” Ximen replied, reminding his brothers.
“Yeah!” Shan Cai said giving Dao Ming Si a deadly glare.
“Ahh... So you like her?” Dao Ming Si teased him again, not minding the deadly glare that his wife is giving him.
“No.” Ximen immediately rebutted. He didn’t like to be confronted by his brothers like this. Although he likes Xiao You, it’s just wasn’t his style to let his brothers know that fact for he knew that they would just tease him about it. And at this time, he felt that Xiao You had already moved on and had lost her feelings for him. The Xiao You that was now before him was different from the Xiao You he knew back then. He was certain that Xiao You was not here to ask him again to love her or to be his meimei for she was acting purely on business. He saw no hope for her to love him again.
“Yes you do, you’re just threatened by Shan Cai.” Lei directly said.
“No, besides we’re business partners.” Ximen said, saving himself from their awkward questions. It was better to divert their attention to the merger than spend his time being teased.
“Business partners?” Mei Zhuo asked in disbelief.
“Yes, She has been buying several of my companies and at that time, I didn’t know that she was Adriana Chien so I made an appointment with her since she was again buying a company of mine and I got suspicious. We were supposed to meet yesterday but she didn’t attend, so I pushed her to by telling her that I wont make any negotiations until she meets me personally. So now, here she is.” Ximen narrated to his friends.
“So what happened?” Shan Cai inquired.
“I proposed a merger.” He told them calmly.
“Huh?” Mei Zhuo wondered.
“She has been eager to buy my companies and I also have been thinking of expanding my business more so I suggested it.”
“So you’re doing a merger with her?” Dao Ming Si asked.
“Hopefully, we will discuss the contract on Tuesday.” He replied.
Everyone in the room fell silent, digesting everything that Ximen said. Everything came as a shock to them and that they couldn’t say anything after everything that Ximen had revealed to them. After a few minutes, Ximen excused himself for he had left some things hanging in his office leaving everyone pondering about him and Xiao You.
