(Gallen’s convertible…)
Roger stares at his friend curiously. Gallen has not spoken a word since Roger entered the car…
ROGER: (demanding) Say something!
Gallen sighs and averts his eyes.
ROGER: Is it Flora? I told you to strike first, didn’t I?
Roger’s comment is the only thing needed to ignite Gallen.
GALLEN: (blurts out) Tell me how Roger? I’ve only known her for less than a year. Bowie has known her all her life!
ROGER: (taken aback) Well, uh... But does it matter? I know Flora! She won’t just simply fall for someone based on the time she knows that person.
GALLEN: (sulkily) How can you be sure?
ROGER: (snickers) How can I be sure? Look here, Gallen! If she bases her rationale on the time, then should I be the one she chooses?
GALLEN: (mumbles) But you’re not Bowie!
ROGER: (slightly irritated) What about Bowie? Did Flora tell you she loves Bowie? No, right?
Gallen bites his lips and looks squarely into Roger’s eyes
GALLEN: You should see how happy she is when she gets Bowie’s bracelet back. It must be awfully important to her.
ROGER: So? (squints his eyes teasingly) I’ve heard from Jess you earned a hug…
GALLEN: (lowers his head) It just showed how much she values that gift. Bowie must be a million times that important to her, Roger!
Roger screws his eyes and scrutinizes his friend.
ROGER: (waves his forefinger warningly) No! Gallen! No, I don’t need anyone to follow my footstep! You get up and go to her! Tell her you love her! Now!
GALLEN (exasperated) Too late! You know what I saw when she sat up and hugged me?

*FLASHBACK*
(Flora’s ward, a few hours earlier)
Flora looked at the bracelet again. Her lips curved into a beautiful smile. She sprang up and, taking Gallen by surprise, hugged him tightly…
Gallen thought even Jess would hear the wild drumming of his heart beat. His arms lingered for a moment in shock before embracing around Flora’s delicate figure. He would feel the softness of her breath brushing by his neck. Gallen wanted so much to tighten his embrace, but dares not to. Flora was like a butterfly in his dream. Gallen closed his eyes and sank his head a tiny bit lower on Flora’s shoulder.
When he finally opened his eyes, Gallen spotted a little crystal ornament protruded out from under Flora’s pillow.
Gallen felt as if someone slashes his heart with a sword. It bled!
*End of Flashback*

ROGER: (thoughtfully) So you think that crystal heart is from Bowie?
Gallen says nothing. Absent-mindedly, he picks up a record and inserts it… The music streams out, soothingly…

Gallen presses his lips firmly together…His jaw sets into an obstinate line: Don’t surrender because you can win! Yes, Gallen nods to himself. He must not give up!

(ATE outdoor setting, Gold Coast, 02/13/1998)
LOUIS (grins broadly as he spots Flora) Welcome back, Flora (to the whole team) Cheer to Flora every one!
To Flora’s surprise, a shower of confetti catches her. Tiny colorful flakes swirl in the breeze like in a Disney cartoon. Flora feels slightly overwhelmed. Such wonderful friends and colleagues she has.
Through the magical screen of confetti, Flora spots Roger’s cheerful face and Moses’ warm smile. Her manager has insisted on staying with her throughout the shooting today to “make sure Coolman won’t hurt you.” Flora turns around. Now she finds both Louis and Bowie grinning and beaming at her. Flora waves back.
From quite a distance away, Gallen watches Flora as the confetti showers on her. He sees Flora spinning around on her heels, waving at her friends, offering them her angelic smile… She is so lovely!

(Break between takes… Flora is still waiting for her next scene)(Louis approaches Flora)
LOUIS: Flora… (smiles and looks straight into her eyes)
FLORA: (looks away) Hi Louis!
LOUIS: Have you… Have you opened my gift?
FLORA: (to herself) So this is it! (takes a deep breath and looks into Louis eyes) I… I’m sorry Louis. It’s so lovely, but...
Hurriedly, Flora takes Louis’ hand and presses the gift box into it. For a moment, Louis doesn’t know what to say. The silence is quite awkward.
Finally Louis speaks. Flora swears she hears a hint of disappointment…
LOUIS: Flora! Why don’t you just keep it as a souvenir? (shrugs) To remind you of a friend…
FLORA: (suspiciously) Are you… sure?
LOUIS: (coolly) Why not? This is not the first time I got rejected to the face!
FLORA: (exclaims softly) Louis!
Louis laughs. He presses the little box back into Flora’s palm…
LOUIS: Still friends, are we?
FLORA: (clutching the box happily) Sure, Louis. Friends!
Louis stars walking away as Roger, from nowhere, stumbles onto them.
ROGER: Hi, Coolman, I’m looking for you!
LOUIS: What’s the matter?
ROGER: Oh, no, no matter. Just a favor… Would you let everyone know they’re all invited to my party tomorrow?
LOUIS and FLORA: For what? (look at each other) V-day?
ROGER (snaps his fingers before disappearing into the crowd again) You got it!
LOUIS: (calls after Roger) Hey, but where?
ROGER: (shouts back) Gallen’s place!

Roger and Louis are discussing and checking for the props for the next scene, while Gallen and Flora are half-chatting and half-rehearsing for their scene… Moses passes her a bottle of water, and wipes her perspiration under the hot sun… Bowie walks towards her and takes a look at her script, smiling happily. Gallen takes a step backward…
LOUIS: (shouting) Hey! Are all of you ready? (walks towards Gallen and Flora) You two ready? (they nods their heads smilingly in unison) Ok, the whole world gets ready! In your positions, (to lighting man) Hey, shift this 15 degree to your left, (helping with the adjustment) a bit more… and a bit higher... Ok, good… (to cameraman) Ok, get ready man… Camera rolling… ACTION!
Tim and Helen are holding ice-cream in their hands happily when they approach the florist.
FLORIST: Hey Miss, these tulips just arrive, take a look…
HELEN/FLORA: (to Tim) Hold this for me! (turns to the florist, sniffing the sweet smell of the flowers… (seeing that Tim has no reaction)(To florist) No thanks! (she turns around and Tim’s ice-cream smashes on her right cheek)(she knits her brown and lets out a helpless smile) Hey you…
TIM/GALLEN: (grinning) I’m sorry, I’m sorry… (pulls her to one corner)
(Louis shoves the cameraman to the corner anxiously)
Helen is amused by Tim’s action, at the same time feels uneasy with the ice-cream on her cheek, smiling helplessly while Tim took out a tissue from her handbag… He raises his right hand, trying to wipe off the ice-cream left on Helen’s cheek, while staring at her smilingly… Her skin is just as creamy. Tim pauses for a moment, then lowers his head and brushes his lips ever so slightly over her cheek, removing the ice-cream. Then swiftly, Tim moves his lips to her lips and gives Helen a tight embrace by surprise…
LOUIS: (scrutinizing them) (after 5 seconds of their kiss) (shouts) Ok… CUT!!!
For a moment, Louis thinks something is wrong with the actors' ears, because they just passionately continue their kiss, seemingly ignoring everything around them…
Moses and Bowie almost drop their jaws. Oh my god! What are they doing? The director has shouted cut!
LOUIS: (shouts again, raising his voice by 20 decibels) CUT!!!
Flora and Gallen are startled! They break free in a split second, both blushing a little…
Gallen hastily mumbles an excuse to walk away from the darting eyes of Moses and Bowie… They fix their gaze after Gallen, disappointment show in their eyes
BOWIE: (squints his eyes and brings his face closer to Flora's) Look who’s blushing to the ear!
FLORA: Hey!
MOSES: (bluntly) You like him, don’t you Flora?
FLORA: (stomps her feet) No I’m not!
BOWIE: (sneers half-teasingly) Stop denying, girl.
FLORA: (stammering, looking from Bowie to Moses) I … I… You two!
BOWIE: (sighs) I don’t know about Moses, but I’m happy for you, Flora. Gallen is a good one.
MOSES: (nods, forcing a smile) Yes, me too, Flora mui. If he treats you badly, he will have to look out for me!
FLORA:(waves her hand exasperatedly) I don’t know what you two are talking about…

At the other corner:
ROGER: (grunts) How dare you! Taking advantage of my Biu Mui like that!
GALLEN: (protests weakly) We’re only acting!
ROGER: Yeah, right! (rolls his eyes) Who would buy that?
Gallen finds himself dumbstruck. Hesitating, he shifts his eyes 40 degree to his right and steals a glance at Flora. When realizing she is doing the same thing, he hurriedly turns away, only to bump his head against Roger's, who has just turned around after chatting with the camera man… Gallen rubs the pains off and winks apologetically to Roger. His grin is so sheepish. Flora couldn't help but giggles.
