The morning ray shone brightly on this Tuesday morning, Flora rubbed her eyes sleepily and gradually opens them. She turned to take a glance at the clock, it was 8.30 a.m. Greedily, she stole a few minutes of sleep before rolling off her bed in a slow motion. After washing up and taking her breakfast, she sits comfortably on her sofa, reading a book from her favorite author.
Little Valentine is enjoying his little moments in dream city, Flora smiled at it’s innocence. She thought of Gallen, and reminisce about yesterday’s scene. She chuckled at Gallen’s thoughtfulness, the thought of Gallen swept a sweet moment towards Flora’s heart. “Don’t tell me I’m falling for him! He’s just another co-star of mine, it’s just acting, but on second thoughts, he IS an eligible bachelor to consider…
Her attention soon diverted to the crystal teapot and crystal apple, respectively given by her 2nd uncle and Bowie, by their messengers Michelle and Raymond. Those around her would know how much Flora desires those crystal ornaments. She wanted to thank both of them for their gifts… Then she had an idea!

(Michelle’s residence, 6.30 p.m.)
MRS CHAN: (coming out from kitchen) Jess! Come in and give me a hand, your sis and Sammul Gor will be arriving soon. Quick! (walks hastily towards her) Stop your games or else! (she was already standing right in front of Jess, with her hands on her waist, eyes on Jess)
JESS: (definitely intimidated by her actions, and put down her controller immediately) Mum, don’t be angry la, I’ll get you some ice-cream to cool you down… (puts her hands on her Mum’s shoulders and shove her into the kitchen)(Mrs. Chan laughed at her silliness)

JESS: (exclaims) Wow, Mum… do you need to go to that expense! Although Sammul Gor is your future son-in-law, I don’t think he had such a huge appetite!
MRS CHAN: (chopping meat) What do you know?
JESS: (turns to look at her) What do I need to know?
MRS CHAN: Wash the vegetables first, and then peel the potatoes…
JESS: Huh?
MR. CHAN: (walking from behind) Did you want to give Jess a little surprise or what, dear?
JESS: (turns to look at her dad) What surprise?
MR. CHAN: Your Flora Ka Jai is coming over for dinner today.
JESS: (excitedly) Dai Ka Jai is coming? Why didn’t you tell me earlier, Mum? I could have pick her up!
MRS CHAN: Could you drive without a license, Jess? Furthermore, Flora is bringing two guests here too, I think they will come together…
JESS: Two guests? Who? (grins cheekily) Hehe… must be her boyfriend…
MRS CHAN: (protests) Stop your guessing game and speed up, they’ll be here in 20 minutes’ time…
JESS: (making a puppy face) YES MADAM!

(20 minutes later, the doorbell rings)(Jess opens the door)

JESS: (smilingly) You are so punctual! (to Sammul) Sammul Gor!
SAMMUL: (returns her smile) Hi, Jess… You’ve grown so tall! (walks in with Michelle)
JESS: Hey, I’m always been that tall! (closes the door)
MICHELLE: (rolls her eyes at Jess) Jess… (Jess makes another puppy face and walks away)
MR. CHAN: Hi, Sammul… (scans him from head to toe) Emmm… Handsome and suave, you sure have good taste, Michelle… (Sammul giggles at his comment while Michelle shakes her head slightly and smile)
SAMMUL: (stretches out his hands) Hello, uncle, this is a small gift for you…
MRS CHAN: (comes out from kitchen) That is nice of you, Sammul… Dinner will be ready in 10 minutes, meanwhile, take a seat and chat with Michelle first, ok? (walks back into kitchen)
SAMMUL: (nods his head smilingly)(sits down and whispers into Michelle’s ear) Looks like you gave me the wrong info about your dad, he seems nice, and not as stern as you've describe!
MICHELLE: Just because he praised you? See how vain and superficial you are!
SAMMUL: How dare you! (tickles her)
JESS: (walks towards them) I can’t stand you two! (the doorbell rings again) It must be Dai Ka Jai… (runs towards the door)
MICHELLE: Huh? Flora Jai is coming?
JESS: (opens the door) Dai Ka Jai! (gives her a tight hug) I haven’t seen you for months! Are you very busy recently? What are you busy with? (looks at Bowie and whispers to Flora) Is this your boyfriend? (looks at Raymond) And who is this blackie?
MICHELLE: Jess! Let them in first!
JESS: Ooops, I’m sorry.. (makes way for them, and closes the door after them)
SAMMUL: (surprised) Raymond? Why are you here?
RAYMOND: Well, I just tag along with my brother…
BOWIE: Hi…
SAMMUL: I never knew Mr. Bowie Lam was your brother…
FLORA: (walks towards Sammul and Michelle) I hope you two don’t mind we’re joining you…
Michelle and Sammul shakes their head in unison: You’re most welcomed!
MRS CHAN: (walks out) Flora, you’re a bit late…
FLORA: (passes something to her) Yee Sum (2nd Auntie), this is for you and… (to Mr. Chan) Yee Suk, this is for you… Thanks for your teapot… You must have a hard time looking for it.
MR. CHAN: That was sure, I spent almost 1/3 of my 5 days in Japan looking for it, anyway, what’s this?
FLORA: It’s a book from your favorite author…
JESS: (butts in, protesting and pouting) What about me, Dai Ka Jai?
FLORA: I didn’t prepare anything for you! (Jess kept a disappointed look) Just kidding, here’s a seashell for you, I’ve found it when I was filming in Australia last month…
JESS: (excitedly) Thanks… (scrutinizing the seashell) It’s so exquisite! Thanks!
MICHELLE: Where on earth would a seashell be ‘exquisite’, Jess?
JESS: So long as Dai Ka Jai understand it!
MRS CHAN: Hey, save your chats for later, dinner is ready… (Everyone proceeds to the dining table)
After dinner, Bowie and Raymond are on the balcony, Sammul and Michelle sits down on the sofa, watching TV, Mr. and Mrs. Chan are cutting fruits, and Jess hauls Flora into her room.

RAYMOND: Gor, looks like Flora-jie treats you like her own family, even this kind of family gathering can involves us… Or should I say… you…
BOWIE: (smiles) Of course, we’re the best of friends…
RAYMOND: (grins) Why didn’t she invite anyone else but you?
BOWIE: She just wanted to thank me for the gift, and she invited you too!
RAYMOND: (shakes his head cheekily) No no… that is just a smokescreen… Girls are shy by nature… Gor, you should take action…
BOWIE: (turning his head) Stop your nonsense!
RAYMOND: (seriously) Go by your heart, you knows best how much she means to you… You knew how much you did for her, but at least you should let her know about it…
BOWIE: What about you? You was practically staring at Michelle during the dinner…
RAYMOND: (blushes a bit) Speak for yourself!

MICHELLE: (interlocking arms with Sammul, smiling) How’s the dinner?
SAMMUL: (grinning) Great! But of course you’re better… (gives her a kiss on the face)
MICHELLE: (lowering her head) You’re so mushy…
SAMMUL: But you like that… (places his head near Michelle’s)(whispering sweet nothings)

JESS: (eagerly) Dai Ka Jai, I heard you are now filming “At The Threshold Of An Era”, so how was it? Anything interesting? Did you fall in love with Gallen Lo? He is so charming!
FLORA: (lets out a chuckle) Hey girl, that is just acting!
JESS: Fake scenes can invoke real feelings, and feelings can develop as time goes by…
FLORA: What do you know, little girl? Have you been in love before?
JESS: (stuttering) Hey, you… Don’t you… digress the topic, I heard that Gallen fell in love with you…
FLORA: Where did you hear it from? It’s nonsense!
JESS: Hehe, Moses Gor told me that, so how do you feel towards him? I want the truth!
FLORA: (pauses for a moment, grinning) Emmm, he’s an attentive and kind guy…
JESS: (giggling) That’s all? Do you feel a little thingy for him? A little bit? (gesturing and practically staring at her for the answer)
FLORA: (smiling) Perhaps, hey… don’t talk about me… How is your studies getting on?
JESS: Hey don’t digress the topic, that’s nothing interesting about me for you to know…You know I am entering U soon… What about your Moses and Roger Biu Gor?
FLORA: (looks at her astonishingly) Do you know ESP or what? Who told you all that?
JESS: Hehe… I’ve got a spy… just tell me!
FLORA: You are such a nosey parker! I won’t tell you!
JESS: (tickles her) How dare you! Quick, tell me… tell me…
FLORA: (defends herself) Ok… I’ll just reveal a little to satisfy your curiosity, our future psychologist! (takes a short breath) It’s impossible between us… I mean Moses and Roger…
JESS: (curiously) But why? Moses is so caring and Roger is so outspoken and hilarious… Or.. do you prefer Bowie Lam? I think he is frivolous…
FLORA: Don’t speak bad behind his back! Moses is my good friend-cum-colleague, I do admit he is caring (looking elsewhere and lets out a soft chuckle) but… As for Roger, he’s just my good brother, my buddy…
JESS: Oh… so you do prefer Bowie then? Wait a minute… then does my Gallen stands a chance? (makes a puppy face)

Sammul was called in by Michelle’s parents, while Raymond walked into the living room and approached Michelle. Bowie just stayed at the balcony…

RAYMOND: (puts on a broad smile) Hi, Michelle, we meet again…
MICHELLE: (smiles) Yes… Enjoyed the dinner?
RAYMOND: Certainly… (looks at Michelle without moving his eyes)
MICHELLE: (diverting her view a bit) Why are you looking at me like that?
RAYMOND: Because I think you’re pretty…
JESS: (walking out from room and overheard their conversation) Lecherous guy! (Raymond gave her a stare and she made a face at him in returns) (She pulls Michelle to one corner) Hey, do you like that blackie? You’ll better don’t! You’ve got Sammul Gor, and he is so good to you…
MICHELLE: Dear Jess, you have told me that umpteen times, and that had sunk into my head long ago… and don’t be bias against Ray. He’s quite a nice guy… (smiles to herself)
JESS: Hey Michelle, don’t tell me you’re falling for this blackie? What’s so good about him? And he stares at you like a lecher… (turns to make another face at Raymond)
Michelle chuckled at her sister’s childishness… but she was correct somehow, Sammul is so good to her, but somehow she felt something is really absent between them…
