A maid came to the room, about to do some cleaning but let out a scream when she saw a corpse on the couch. The two bodyguards switch their attention to her and pull her into the room, closing the door slightly with still a small gap left open. They instructed her to keep this matters a secret until further details could be obtain on their master’s death.
Meanwhile… a young man came out of a room just beside the murder scene, brushing his clothes slightly before walking along the corridor. He halted by the room and sneaked a quick peek to the small gap of the door, seeing the face of the maid looking pale and panic, nodding non-stop to the every mention of the two men before her. He turns his gaze slightly and saw a man by the couch pale-white affirming he is dead. The young man lowers his head slightly with a smirk on his face, scurrying past the other residents of the hotel and made his way to the elevator. Once he exited the elevator, he was already having a black coat with a hood attached to it, wrapped over him as he placed both his hand in his leather pants and walks out of the hotel.
Just as he exited the hotel, he glanced around and saw some people in black suits mumbling to each other, panic written all over their face. He let out a silent chuckle and walks calmly towards the building only few blocks away. A man wearing dark clothing was leaning against the wall under the neon signboard of the building, which his presence was only seen when the light of the neon sign blinks bright. When it dims down again it was like no one was even there as the place would look pitch black.
The young man slows down his speed when walking passed the man as the man swiftly tucks an envelope into the coat pocket of the young man. Another clean escape; he gets even better in his job with each new mission he accepts. You might be able to guess what is his job by now… He is a killer, receiving payment for such task assigned to him and each comes with different amount of payment depending on the level of difficulties. But his skills in his work makes him one of the most recognized for clean and slick job done.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The young man enters a nightclub; surging passed the crowd before sitting at his usual corner. The place was clouded with smoke from cigarettes but it doesn’t bother him at all since he was already used to an environment like this when meeting his clients. The smoky environment makes everywhere blurry and hard to see clearly the faces of the people around, perfect for hiding your identity from unwanted eyes.
He sat with his legs crossed together and placed firmly on the table; his head lowers slightly with his hands crossed together in front of his chest, trying to catch a few Zs while waiting for his next client which as usual, was not punctual.
Out of a sudden, there was a loud bang on the table that awoke him from his ‘nap’. He opens his eyes and lifts his head up to see a man standing before with many other huge men standing behind him.
“First thing’s first… You know the drill.” He said; remaining in the position he was at.
The man, who seemingly is the head, gestured to one of the men behind him and he threw a bulky envelope on the table.
The young man straightens himself and leans forward opening the envelope slightly to check the content. He let a smirk on his face with his eyebrow raised in approval and the big man himself sat on the seat opposite of him.
Another envelope was placed on the table, which distracts the young man from looking through the envelope he was holding. He placed the envelope into the pocket of his coat and picks up the envelope on the table, taking out a few photos and a data sheet.
“Her name is Aya Ueto, an artist. I want things to be done quick and slick. The full payment will be given to you when I am assured of her death.”
The young man glanced at the photos of a sweet-looking girl; her hair was long till slightly below her shoulder.
“Now why would you pay so much to kill such a sweet-looking girl like this? I think it would be cheaper for you to just instruct one of your men there to do it.”
“I assumed you are professional enough to know the first rule of a killer; that is to never question the task handed to you…” The man said with his teeth clenched, giving the young man a death glare but the young man kept his cool face and shows no fear at all.
The man stood up and turns away to leave. His men gave the young man glares before following their leader off. The young man uttered a silent chuckle, shaking his head from side to side.
“Here is your usual drink, good-looking.” A waitress came over and placed a drink on the table in front of the young man.
“Thanks pretty.” He took a sip of his drink and a grin made its way to his face as he stares up at the waitress.
“How much do I owe you this time?”
“Take me to dinner and we will call it even.” The waitress said in a somewhat flirty tone.
“Deal!” The waitress gave him a wink before going back to her duties. He had an amused look on his face as he took another sip of his drink, staring once again at the picture of his target this time.
{What did you do to offend a big guy like that? Must be something serious to have such a sweet face killed.}
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Hyung… What is it this time?” The young man raised his head to see both the people he was expecting, standing before him with suspicion looks on their face.
“Hey Changmin… Junsu… Can’t I just invite you guys over for a little get-together? It has been long since we gather for a meal.” The young man answered with an innocent look on his face.
The guy standing on the left took down the specs he had on and uttered a sigh before pulling a chair to sit in front of the young man.
“Jaejoong Hyung… Who is the target this time?”
The young man now identified as Jaejoong, threw the envelope he obtained from his client on the table as it slides towards his mate whom now has his laptop on. He glanced once at the photo and his eyebrow arched up in confusion.
“Are you sure you didn’t just took out a photo of one of your ex-mistress here? It doesn’t seem like someone who would offend a person till the extent to have her killed.”
“Changmin ah… You don’t understand my taste at all… Like I would fall for a face like that. Don’t you know looks can be deceiving?” Jaejoong let out a smirk before he leans back against the chair with his hands crossed together behind his head.
The guy now known as Changmin, starts typing on his laptop and different images of the girl in the photo start popping up, all looking as sweet and innocent as the next. His finger resting on the bottom of his chin as more details of the target pops up but nothing unusual that they should know or haven’t know from the data already provided to them.
“Hyung… When are you going to let go of your job and get a life for once? The other guy, whom sure enough was the one named Junsu, took a seat beside Changmin and snaps his finger to the nearby waitress. She nodded and goes off to take his usual order.
“My job is my life… That's all I need and it will be all I ever need.”
Just then, different plates of food were served and placed nicely in front of them. Junsu promptly took his fork and twist it on the spaghetti in front of it, putting it in his mouth as a delighted smile came on his face.
“Hyung… Don’t tempt me like that.” Changmin send glares to Junsu but he just ignores him and continues his meal.
“Our food monster is not eating today? What’s the occasion?” Jaejoong teased and smiles gleefully.
“Changmin is saving up for this new high-tech gadget coming into the market soon.” Junsu said with the food still lingering in his mouth.
“Hyung… mind your manners… Don’t you know you should swallow your food before you speak?” Changmin had a disgusted look on his face as he stares as Junsu.
“I thought we earned quite a bundle from the last task?” Jaejoong asked.
“YOU earned quick a bundle. Unlike you… Some of us actually have a LIFE. I still have to bear for my studies. Adding a little here and there and it turns out more then I anticipated.” Changmin emphasized on his words.
“Okay… How about my treat this time?” Jaejoong snaps his finger to get the attention of one of the waiters.
“If that’s the case… I will help myself to some food.” Changmin closes his laptop back down and whispers his order to the waiter standing beside him. Jaejoong just utters a chuckle and shook his head.
“Yah Junsu!! With that behavior of yours, I wonder how Ri In agreed to your proposal.” Jaejoong turns towards the voice and saw two familiar figures approaching. One of them had his hand gripping hold of a little girl.
“Jaejoong Ahjushi!” The girl calls out with her little high-pitched voice.
“Ahjushi? You can call me Jaejoong Oppa, Yuri.” Jaejoong squats down so he was staring straight at the little girl’s face, giving her a light pinch on the cheek and she giggled.
“Yah Jaejoong! You are not trying to flirt with my little girl here are you?” Jaejoong raises his sight up to the guy and had a gleeful smile on his face before he stood up.
“Why not? She is just too adorable to ignore. What do you say, Yuri? Wanna be my little wife?” Jaejoong had his upper body bends down to his knees and looks at little Yuri with his killer smile.
Yuri lowers her head shyly, blushing as she hid behind her father’s legs. Jaejoong took a quick glance on the guy’s left shoulder and the smile on his face disappears into a serious look.
“How’s your shoulder Yunho?” Jaejoong asked.
“Much better… but it might not be as good as it used to anymore.” Yunho placed his right hand on his left shoulder and swings his left arm a little.
“I see…” A slight gloom could be seen on Jaejoong’s face.
“That incident wasn’t all that bad. Now that Yunho had retired as a killer, he could fully focus on his family.” Junsu spoke up. Jaejoong sided an annoyed glance at Junsu.
“Speaking of which… Who’s this Ri In girl you mentioned Yoochun?” Jaejoong turns his attention to his childhood friend, Yoochun, whom was now standing beside Junsu.
“Ah~ Her name is Jang Ri In. She is this new violin teacher I hired not too long ago in my music academy and someone had his eyes set on her.” Yoochun nudged Junsu and Junsu had an innocent look on his face as the rest had their eyes glued on him.
“Hyung… You already reached the age of marriage?” Changmin teased and Junsu gave him a smack on the head. The rest burst into laughter but Jaejoong was the first to stop.
“Yah Junsu! Why do I only know about this after the proposal was already done? But I am sincerely happy for you.”
“How about you Hyung? I think it is about time you find the love of your life as well. You know… settle down with a child or two maybe…” Junsu said.
“Love? It doesn’t really matter to me now… I will survive even without it.” Jaejoong’s tone sounded sad as he glanced down at the necklace dangling around his neck, there was a ring attached to it and his fingers were twisting it a little.
The others remained silent and Jaejoong knew his past was being triggered into an awkward atmosphere again.
“I am living life to the fullest now anyway. Well I gotta go guys. You won’t find me around as I’m having a job at Japan. Don’t miss me too much.” The others chuckled in annoyance and Jaejoong just let a smirk on his face.
“Bye my little princess! How about one last kiss before we say goodbye?” Yuri stares up at her father and he gave her a nod of approval. She went over to Jaejoong’s side and laid a light kiss on his cheek before he hugs her in his embrace. After he released her, she went back to her father’s side.
Changmin flips his laptop back open and his eyes widened when he noticed an unusual detail about Jaejoong’s target this time. He stood up trying to catch sight of Jaejoong but he was already long gone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jaejoong just arrived at Osaka and took a step out of the airport, breathing into the air of the new town he was in. He stares at the paper on his hand, glancing around trying to find his way to the address stated on the paper.
{Since I am here… No harm doing a little sightseeing for the meantime.}
Jaejoong made his way around town, glancing around at the friendly people and the many stores. He halted at a store and stares at his own reflection on the glass window, his fingers brushing through his silky black hair.
{It’s been so long since I had my black hair. Wonder why the client made such a ‘unique’ request?}
He smirked before uttering a sigh. Just as he was about to lower his gaze from the window, he noticed the reflection of a person behind walking passed him. That person… looks awfully familiar. Jaejoong can’t help but follows her from behind, his eyebrow scrunched up together as his sight glued on her back. Then he realized something as he stretches his hand into his bag, taking out the photo of his target.
Out of a sudden, Jaejoong felt a pair of strong hands gripping on his shoulder and he raises his sight. Familiar masculine huge men with black suits were standing surrounding him.
“Hey guys! How’s it going?” One of the men laid a hard punch on Jaejoong’s chest and his face scrunched up in pain. Jaejoong had mixture of confusion and frustration lingering within him - confused of why these men suddenly appeared before him and giving him a beat-up, and frustrated he was caught off-guard of their little ‘greeting’.
Just then, another man was about to laid a punch to his face but this time Jaejoong wasn’t going to just stand around letting himself get beat up. He swiftly lifts his hand and grab hold of the guy’s hand before his fist could reach his face.
“I won’t resist if I were you. Boss’s order.” The man mumbled.
“What?”
Before Jaejoong knew it, another punch was laid onto his stomach before he crumbles to the ground. The men stomp him furiously but he didn’t do anything but curls up like a prawn with both his hands placed tightly on his chest; his surrounding turning blurry as he felt the strength within him draining slowly.
“YAMETE!!”(STOP IT!!)
Jaejoong heard the voice of a girl called out and surprisingly the men withdraw their attacks and scurried off.
The girl went to his side and looks at him worriedly.
“Kazuki!”
“Who?” Jaejoong answered almost inaudible. That was the last word he heard before his vision completely fades off and he passed out giving into his pain.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Urgh…” Jaejoong placed his hand on his forehead as he slowly lifts his eyes open. After getting his eyes adjusted to the bright light above, he moves his gaze around glancing at his surrounding. It didn’t took long for him to realize he was lying on a bed in the hospital. The side of his cheek twitched as he touches the aching spot and noticed then that the back of his palm was bandaged; not to mention several parts of his body as well.
Then, his sight drew to the door as it slowly swings open, revealing a girl. She was wearing a casual blue sleeveless dress with her fairly short hair spill down on her shoulder, two locks of hair dangling in front of her ears.
A bright smile came to her face when she noticed he had awakened as she rushed to his side.
“Kazuki! I am so glad you have awaken.”
Jaejoong was stunned at how casually she called him with that name, like they have known each other for a very long time. She helped him to sit up as she placed a pillow vertically behind him.
“You are…?” Jaejoong asked while staring at her with a puzzled look.
“Kazuki, have you forgotten me already?”
Jaejoong’s eyes widened when he recalled who this familiar girl was.
“You are… Aya-chan.”
