Chapter 17

- His motive known -

Yeon Hee has been staring blankly at her phone for quite a while now. Her thumb just trailing lightly over the numbers till it reached the ‘call’ button and it hesitated on that spot; the screen above highlighted Jaejoong’s number.

Yeon Hee bit her lower lips as she pushed herself to press the button again but it didn’t budge. For the past weeks she been together with Siwon, she couldn’t help thinking about Jaejoong’s action at the art exhibition and beginning to wonder Jaejoong’s REAL motive of being in Japan. Everything that happened were just too much of a coincidence, like a plan was being launched right before her nose, yet took her only till now to just have the guts to flip to Jaejoong’s contact on her phone.

‘Yeon Hee, since when you have been so hesitance to find out the truth. Get a hold of yourself.’ Yeon Hee thought to herself.

“Yeon Hee.”

Just as Yeon Hee finally going to press down the ‘call’ button, a familiar voice pulled her away from her decision as she turned towards him.

“Siwon.”

“What are you doing?” Siwon came to Yeon Hee’s side by the bed and looped an arm around her waist as he sat himself beside her.

“Nothing.” She answered as she flipped her phone shut. She uttered a soft sigh and Siwon leaned his face closer to her.

“Now what came to that?” Siwon asked gently.

“Just thinking about everything that happened recently.” Siwon knew that wasn’t the right answer he was suppose to hear but he let it off, not wanting to force her to tell further unless she really wants him to know.

“Siwon.”

“Hmm…?” Siwon said while resting his chin on Yeon Hee’s shoulder.

“You haven’t been finding Aya these days because you were always with me. But I know you never keep her away from your mind, right?”

Siwon’s head sprang up upon her words and a serious expression plastered his face.

“I will be lying if I say no.” Siwon admitted bluntly.

“I am sorry I am not treating you full-heartedly. I am with you now and my mind is still with another girl.”

Yeon Hee shook her head at that statement, showing that she was fine with it.

“I just don’t want you to feel obligated to be with me that you are not finding Aya. One way of seeing this is also as avoiding. If you really want to let go of one love, you just have to face it as it is and let time flow at its own pace.” Siwon chuckled and Yeon Hee looked questioningly at him.

“You are right, Yeon Hee. You always thought so much for me. I really want you to be happy and not worry about my troubles all the time.”

“That’s what being together is all about, to share not just all that are happy, but also those that are sad. I am happy right now. More than you really know.” Yeon Hee leaned her head to Siwon’s shoulder and intertwined her hand with his. As mature as Yeon Hee is, she is still so innocent when it comes to her love for Siwon.

“Let’s get ready for tonight.” Siwon said as he lifted Yeon Hee up straight by the arm.

“Tonight?”

Jaejoong sat by the counter slowly twirling the drink on his hand. After taking a sip from it, he shifted his eyes to the entrance of the nightclub before returning his view back to the front.

“Lonely?”

Jaejoong looked by the corner of his eyes at the girl now leaning against the counter beside him. She threw her gaze over to the nightclub entrance Jaejoong been eyeing on since just now before returning back to him.

“Or are you waiting for someone?” The girl asked again.

Jaejoong shifted his head towards her and started scanning her from head to toe. She was wearing a short white tube dress that tightly fitting her body, revealing enough to catch just about any perverted eyes here. Her long smooth hair was let down, flowing lightly on her back. Just a short observation of her was enough for Jaejoong to tell what kind of person she is.

“Waiting for someone as gorgeous as you to finally drop in the bait.” Jaejoong answered with a grin. The girl bit her lower lips seductively yet shows a shy smile as well. Then she naturally sat herself beside him and ordered the same drink.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jaejoong and the girl talked in whispering manner to each other’s ears as they smiled and grinned flirty at each other.

Just then, in came a group of menacing looking people with their leader stood forward of the group. The leader swiftly glanced around the place, spotting a table not far away and started making his way towards it with his men followed closely behind.

Reaching the table, the leader just stood there while his men started chasing the couple seated there away from the table. When the guy tried to stand up against them, he earned a few rough punches to his stomach, landing him to the ground with the men continuing to stomp down on him.

The girl promptly rushed to her boyfriend’s side, begging for the men to stop. The leader smirked and with a gesture of his hand, ordered his men to stop. A last hard stomp was laid to the guy before the men stopped and separated themselves from the guy. The girl helped her badly injured boyfriend up, apologizing constantly with bows as they headed out of the place.

“This is not your turf. Leave now!”

Jaejoong’s attention shoot up as his eyes landed on another group now arrived by the table as well. Jaejoong could tell this group is of Mr. Choi’s men.

“Find someone of higher authority before speaking to me.” The leader answered casually without looking up at the group.

“I say leave!” One of the men of the group roughly swiped the drinks on the table away. Sound of glasses shattering as they hit the ground drawn the attention of the surrounding people.

“Who are you to speak to our boss like that?!” The men by the table fiercely flipped the table over as both group marched closer to each other and glared fiercely at one another. Intense argument started to immerge from them and the place was filled with loud yelling and cursing.

Jaejoong returned to his partner and leaned to her ear to whisper to her.

“I need to make a short trip to the washroom. Wait for me outside. We will continue elsewhere.”

The girl nodded, winking flirty to Jaejoong before heading out of the place. Jaejoong eyed the girl vanished through the entrance of the nightclub before standing up himself and headed to the washroom.

The two groups were still in their intense fight and were gathered closely to each other, pointing fingers and cursing fiercely and loudly. Just then, a loud gunshot was heard and the men darted their eyes around to see where it came from.

A scream heard from a girl nearby drawn their attention to where her eyes landed and they stared in shock at the body lie on the ground with an accurate gunshot on his chest. It was the leader of the first group. He was lying dead on the floor with his eyes still wide open and the blood bleeding from the wound staining the clean dance floor. People around started panicking and running all over from the sight of a dead body. Under this havoc nobody noticed a person creeping out of the place with a smirk on his face.

Meanwhile, outside the nightclub, the girl whipped her head to the nightclub when the screams inside caught her attention. Furrowing her eyes at it, she wondered what was going on to cause such a ruckus. At that moment, Jaejoong came out and wrapped an arm around her shoulder as he led her away.

“What was going on inside there?” She asked.

“Oh, nothing. Just the dying laughter and ‘cheers’ of a performance.” Jaejoong answered with his grin. The girl didn’t questioned further and start smothering all over him again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the blanket held up to her chest, the girl crept to Jaejoong’s jacket hung on the chair beside the bed. Taking a quick glance at the bathroom door where Jaejoong was currently taking a shower, she slid her hand into the jacket pocket, attempting to take out his handphone. As she slid her hand in, her hand felt an object that doesn’t seem to be a phone. Tracing her hand around the outline of the object, her eyes widen when a possibility popped into her mind.

“Found something?”

The girl promptly reel her hand back and blinked frantically at Jaejoong standing by the bathroom door with just his pants on.

“N-nothing.” She stuttered, forcing a smile to her face as he came to her side. Jaejoong just swiftly wore his shirt and took his coat with his other hand as he turned towards the door.

“Wait!” The girl grabbed onto Jaejooong’s hand, stopping him from leaving.

“Where are you going? Don’t you like me?” Jaejoong jerked her hand away, looking away coldly. She promptly wrapped her arms around him.

“Please! Don’t go! I love you.” Her hand trailed seductively all over his body made Jaejoong turned to face her.

“I need you.” She muttered as her other hand traced his jawline, tempting him to a kiss as she pulled him closer. Her eyes slowly closed when Jaejoong’s lips moved closer to hers. Jaejoong chuckled when his lips were just inches away from hers and she instantly flashed her eyes open.

“You only love this face, and the pleasure I gave you.”

When Jaejoong pulled his gun out from his coat, the girl stumbled backward and stared at it in terror, gulping her saliva suddenly stuck in her throat.

“Don’t be too quick to judge.”

Jaejoong continued his way to the door and stopped just before exiting, facing his back at her.

“Don’t worry. This gun is only meant for killing my targets. Killing minors like you are just a waste of bullets.” With that, he left with the girl still stunned there by the bed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“The Boss asked me to send his praise on a job well done.”

Jaejoong smirked as he heard the unsatisfied praise coming from Ji Sung over the phone.

“Don’t get too proud just yet. How about the progress with Aya Ueto?” Jaejoong leaned back against the wall, crossing his legs upon his bed before he continued.

“I think you should know better, having your men observing my every motion.”

Ji Sung went silent upon hearing that, so Jaejoong have long known they had people observing him.

“Why so silent? Disappointed that I found out?” Ji Sung became infuriated.

“I don’t see you putting that much effort in the mission. Mind your own business and quicken the completion of the mission!”

“What about her mother?”

“What?” Ji Sung didn’t get what Jaejoong was intending.

“I say… what about Aya’s mother, Mrs. Ueto?” Jaejoong repeated in the same serious tone.

“Isn’t it obvious? The Boss doesn’t want any witnesses and any after-mess so just get rid of her. Besides… we are doing them a great favor, letting them unite even till death.” When Jaejoong just remained silent over the line, Ji Sung chuckled.

“Is the all-mighty killer going soft?” Ji Sung mocked. Jaejoong was slightly agitated by it, but he kept his cool before answering.

“Just get the cheque ready for me. Prepare to pay extra, killing Mrs. Ueto wasn’t part of the deal.”

“Value of money seems to take more than the value of life to you, isn’t it Mr. cold-hearted killer?”

“At least the money will be worth it considering I could do a way better job than you ever will.”

Hearing that really made Ji Sung mad as he straightaway hung the line. Jaejoong smirked before sliding his phone shut as well.

“Kazuki.”

Jaejoong threw his view to the door where Aya was standing.

“It’s dinner time.”

“Okay.” Jaejoong noticed the apron wore around her just before she turned away.

“Are you cooking tonight?” He asked with one eyebrow raised.

Aya turned back to face him before she answer.

“Kaa-san taught me how to make a few dishes today. I am not sure if it will taste well.”

“If it is made by Aya-chan, I will finish it all for sure, no matter how it taste.” Hearing that made Aya blushed as she quickly dashed off. Jaejoong can’t help the smile curving up his lips seeing her reaction. He placed his phone on the table before standing up and headed out of the door.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I finally live long enough for this day.”

“Uncle Choi, don’t say that. You just have diabetes and slight high blood pressure.” Yeon Hee wrapped her hands around Mr. Choi’s arm and pouted.

“I am just teasing. Don’t call me Uncle Choi anymore, call me Appa from now on.” Yeon Hee sneaked a glance at Siwon before lowering her head as she blushed.

“Okay, let’s not stand around here. Come on! Dinner is getting cold.” Mr. Choi patted Yeon Hee’s hands lightly before they all headed to the dining room.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After dinner, Yeon Hee helped the servants cleared up the dishes from the table to the kitchen.

“Yeon Hee will make an excellent wife and a wonderful daughter-in-law. My judgment is never wrong.” Mr. Choi praised, looking towards Yeon Hee in the kitchen.

“I wonder why you can’t see the same way with Aya.” Siwon muttered.

“I am warning you, Siwon. Don’t you dare mistreat Yeon Hee. I will not accept any other than Yeon Hee as my daughter-in-law.”

Before Siwon could say anything, Ji Sung came by and started whispering something to Mr. Choi’s ear. Siwon could see the change of expression on his father’s face after a few nods before Ji Sung pulled back up straight.

“Excuse us. We have something to discuss.” Mr. Choi then went up to the reading room with Ji Sung and shut the door on their way in.

Meanwhile, Yeon Hee came out of the kitchen with a plate of dessert on each of her hand.

“Where’s Uncle Choi?” She asked.

“He went up to have a meeting with Ji Sung. Probably nothing good.” Siwon answered with a grumpy face. Yeon Hee placed the two plates down on the table before taking her seat beside Siwon.

“Did you and Uncle Choi had an argument again?” She asked in concern.

“I didn’t want us to be like that every time we see each other. But somehow it always turned out that way.” Siwon brushed his hand through his hair in frustration.

“Let me go talk to him then.” Yeon Hee suggested. Siwon looked at Yeon Hee with a mild smile. She then took the plate of dessert and made her way upstairs to the reading room.

“I knew Jaejoong was the right candidate for the task.”

Just as Yeon Hee was about to knock on the door, she heard the mention of Jaejoong.

‘Jaejoong?’ She wondered. She carefully opened a small gap to the door, leaning her ear closer to have a better listen of the conversation.

“Boss, if you had given me the chance. I could do eq-” Ji Sung shut his words and lowered his head when Mr. Choi glared up at him.

“Equally as well? You screw up even the simplest task I gave you of observing him. How do you expect me to entrust something like this to you? I know you Ji Sung. You will end up making a big scene of it.”

“I will make up for it. I will not disappoint you in killing Aya Ueto, if only you will give me the chance.”

“Enough Ji Sung!” Once again, Ji Sung just lowered his head in silent.

“Don’t you dare doubt my judgment?! Kim Jaejoong had done excellent to my plan so far. A way better job than you will ever accomplish.”

Ji Sung restrain his anger as his head was still lowered, not daring to go against his boss.

“The cold-hearted killer Kim Jaejoong. Indeed as the rumors said he is. With his skills, making Aya Ueto disappear from the face of the earth is not more than a snap. And I even get an outstanding associate in the bargain. It’s like killing two birds with a stone.”

Yeon Hee turned away from the door and leaned against the wall beside as her hand naturally came upon her mouth in shock.

‘Jaejoong was assigned by Mr. Choi to kill Aya?!’

Author's Note:: Uh oh. I left a cliffhanger here. XD Let's play some guessing. What do you think Yeon Hee will do now? Will she just go barging into the room and confront Mr.Choi about it? Will she go confront this all with Jaejoong? Will she just tell it to Siwon so he will go save her? Or will she just keep it all to herself and unexpectedly found out by Siwon? There are many possibilities. XP

Some readers requested for Jaejoong with gun right? I hope this is enough to satisfy for now.

Hope you enjoyed the story so far. Comments and criticism are more than welcomed! You know I love all my readers right? XD
