“Appa.” Siwon greeted politely with a bow and his father nodded before Siwon sat himself on the seat beside his father by the large square table.
“Finally decided to drop your old man a visit.” Mr. Choi tone had a sense of displease. Siwon didn’t replied as that instant the servant came, asking him if he would want a drink or something. Siwon politely said no with a thank and the servant dismissed herself.
“Now that you are back, you can take over my place in the family business.”
“I thought we talk about this, Appa. I specifically told you I want nothing to do with what you deal.” Siwon spoke sternly, restraining his voice from rising.
“I already made the business as lawful as it can be. I even promised I wouldn’t interfere in any tactics you want to use to change the business to your liking. What more do you expect me to do?”
“It isn’t what I expect from you but what you expect from me… The main business might be lawful but what about those minor sub businesses? Don’t expect me to believe you completely stopped them and don’t count on me to continue them for you. You have plenty of talented men to help you carry over with the business anyway. All of them are so loyal to you, like Ji Sung for instance.”
“Ji Sung is too short-tempered, always acting recklessly. The business would be ruined and over with if I was to pass it to him.” Mrs. Choi voice shows temper.
“The business should have well ended anyway when Umma died…” Siwon mumbled.
“You are my son, Siwon. Who else would be a better candidate to take over my business than my own son?!” Mr. Choi’s voice rose; his face suddenly scrunched up in pain as his hand held onto his chest clutching tightly. His men beside promptly went to his side but Mr. Choi lifts his hand up to a stop sign, nodding his head that he was fine.
“I didn’t want to argue with you every time I got home…”Siwon murmured, looking away from his father. Then his gaze caught the sight of the plate of tiramisu cake placed before his father.
“You are eating tiramisu cake?” Siwon asked. Mr. Choi stares down at the tiramisu cake before him with a warm smile.
“It was your mother’s favorite.” Mr. Choi said.
“But he wasn’t suppose to be eating it.”
Siwon drew his sight to the voice and saw the familiar figure walking towards them. She had her long hair tied back to a braid and wore a long jacket overcoat reaching the length of her knees with a pair of long slightly-below-the-knee-length leather boots as footwear.
“Uncle Choi, I just went to the hospital to complete some documents for a short while and you already disobeying my instructions. You have diabetes problem. You need to control your blood sugar level. So that means no desserts.”
“Just this one piece…” Mr. Choi pleaded like a little kid.
“Appa, listen to Dr. Lee now. She knows what’s good for you.”
“Dr. Lee? Why so formal? Just call her Yeon Hee, like how you used to.”
Siwon and Yeon Hee exchanges greeting smiles before they both had their eyes downcast. Noticing the silent atmosphere, Yeon Hee switches her attention back to Mr. Choi, whom was trying to sneak a bite of the tiramisu cake.
“Uncle Choi!” Yeon Hee narrowed her eyes at Mr. Choi, her voice sends out warning.
“Just one bite…” He pleaded even more but Yeon Hee still shook her head and he sulked.
“Yeon Hee, just let him have this piece. Now that I'm back, I promise I will watch out for him.” Siwon lent a helping word.
“Fine, but just this piece. And you are banned from anymore dessert for the next month.”
“Yeon Hee will only listen to Siwon, won’t spare any mercy to this old man.” Mr. Choi sighed.
“Another word and I am taking the cake away.” Yeon Hee stares warningly at Mr. Choi with both hands angled on her hip. He did a zip gesture to his mouth and starts indulging his tiramisu cake.
Siwon uttered a muffled laugh before walking off and Yeon Hee follows behind him. They took a slow stroll together at the park outside.
“So… you are planning on staying long?” Yeon Hee asked.
“I haven’t plan what I am going to do from here yet, so yeah…”
Yeon Hee gave a nod as understood and stares at the front, letting the silence surround them again.
“So… how’s life for you?” Siwon asked this time.
“Good… Being a private doctor of your father does have its advantage. My working schedules are more flexible.”
“Besides working, how about your social life?”
Yeon Hee stopped her pace and looks up at Siwon with a grin.
“You seldom beat around the bushes like this.”
“Okay, then I will be straightforward. You are so pretty and even a very qualified doctor now. I remembered during those college times boys gathered around you like bees attracted to honey. Don’t tell me there’s no one going after you now?”
Yeon Hee giggled before looking down at the leaves scattered all over the ground.
“Not to say there isn’t any now but… maybe I am still waiting for the past to catch up to me… still waiting for that someone.” She raised her gaze to Siwon with a smile. When Siwon broke eye contact and clears his throat, Yeon Hee knew she said something awkward.
“Well, I better get back. Uncle Choi might be sneaking another piece on my absence.” Yeon Hee said without looking Siwon directly in the eyes, pushing her hair behind her ear.
“Sure, I… erm… I want to walk a little more by myself.” Siwon pointed to the front and Yeon Hee nodded. After bidding goodbye, they walk their separate directions. Yeon Hee sneaked a glance at Siwon over her shoulder and let a mild smile to her face.

Jaejoong stepped out of his room and his gaze naturally drawn to his right, where there was a room beside Aya’s room that was shut and seemingly unused.
Curiosity got the better of him as he walks towards the room. He felt whispers of piano melody playing in his ears as he headed to the room, getting louder as he approached closer; the playing of piano practically bursting in his ears when he reached before the door of the room.
Jaejoong wraps his hand over the doorknob, twisting it and pushing the door open hard. The instant the door swings open, the piano melody ringing in his head stopped. Jaejoong scanned the surrounding of the room, noticing it seeming dark and empty. He shook his head and lifts his hand to a fist, giving his head a few knocks.
He scrunched his eyebrows together as he slowly enters deeper into the room. As he was scanning his dark surrounding, he bumped into something solid and starts moving his hands all over the object, touching its surface.
It was a large object that’s for sure but Jaejoong couldn’t make out what it was exactly. He glanced again at his surrounding and spotted a window a short distance away with its curtains sealed together. He walks over to the window and pulls the curtains apart. The sunlight beaming through the window blinded Jaejoong’s eyes. He lifts his hand up to shelter his eyes and moves away from the window.
The sun extended its glow into the room and shines down on the large object in the middle of the room, revealing a grand piano. Jaejoong walks towards the grand piano and circled it, staring at its beauty as his fingers caressed the shiny black surface. He stopped by the seat before the piano, moving his hand to the hinged lid covering the keys of the piano and flips it open, revealing the set of keys of black and white colors.
Jaejoong leaned against the side edge of the piano and starts tapping his index finger on the keys of the piano according to the order they were arranged. A smile curved up his lips as the melody formed from each key whispers softly through his ears.

Aya was sleeping soundly when she heard music playing through her subconscious mind. She slowly lifts her eyes open, realizing she wasn’t dreaming of the melody but it was coming from a direction. She glanced at her surrounding and saw she was back in her room.
Aya swings her legs and settles them down to the floor as she sat up. She lifts both her hands up to a stretch and noticed something dangling down her left hand. She reels back her hand before her face and noticed it was the ‘J’ letter pendant necklace.
Aya smiles silly to herself, feeling the déjà vu of the first time she met Kazuki. She stares down at the pendant on her palm and caressed it with her other hand. The unique design of the pendant felt like a charm cast on her since the first time she seen it. The design was already permanently imprinted in her head, such as every second of the memories with Kazuki.
Aya snapped from her daze as her ears caught the flow of the melody played again. She held the necklace in her palm closed into a fist and stood up, heading to the direction of the music.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aya reached the room and halted behind the door, craning her head and peeping into the room. She saw Jaejoong inside with a smile that she never seen on his face since he got back. Indeed he looks the happiest being with his music.
Jaejoong stops playing out of a sudden and looks towards Aya peeping by the door. Of all his years as a killer, it was natural for him to know when he was being observed.
Aya smiles awkwardly before straightening herself before the door, gulping the lump in her throat before entering the room towards Jaejoong.
“Did I disturb your sleep?” Jaejoong asked. Aya just shook her head.
“Ah~ Here…. I should return this.” Aya extended the necklace to Jaejoong. Jaejoong gave her a smile before taking the necklace from her palm.
“Thanks for last night.” Aya looks down shyly with pink blushes tinted her cheeks.
“Oh, it was nothing.” Jaejoong replied casually, lifting the necklace to his neck and locking the seal on the nape of his neck.
“Kazuki…”
“Yes?” Jaejoong stares down at her shy face.
“Can you play me a song?”
Jaejoong’s eyes widened in startled. He never thought he would see this coming. Turning away, he rested his finger on his chin and bit his lower lips.
“You can play any song you want. I just wanna hear you play…”
Jaejoong twirls back to her and seeing the yearning in her eyes, he decided to give it a try, hoping the amateur skill he learned from Yoochun could save him in this. He sighed before nodded and Aya’s face brightens up to a wide smile.
Jaejoong turned towards the piano and sat down on the seat before the piano. He placed his fingers lightly on the keys and inhaled a deep breath before slowly pressing his fingers on the piano keys.
[Song played: Insa (Piano instrumental)]
He had his eyes downcast on the piano, feeling himself hypnotized by the music being played as his fingers gracefully flows between the keys; The music seems to already existed playing in his head, guiding him towards the right keys just as casually like he had already played it a million of times.
[Song End]
After Jaejoong finished the last note, he stares down at the piano keys, feeling a strange feeling congesting his chest again. He felt possessed just now, like he became a completely different person when he was playing the piano, and that sets him bewildered. Just then, applaud was heard loudly from Aya and Jaejoong snapped from his thoughts.
“That was wonderful! I am sure you will be a world class pianist one day.” Aya praised, smiling brightly at him.
“World class? I don’t know if I go that far.”
“I have faith in you.” Jaejoong nodded and Aya let out another giggle and smile.
“Aya-chan, there’s something I want to tell you.”
“What is it?”
Seeing Aya’s innocent and happy face, Jaejoong suddenly find it hard to break the news to her.
“Erm… tomorrow-”
“There you are Aya-chan.”
Aya swings her head towards the door, smiling at her mother entering.
“I have been looking all over for you. Have you forgotten that you were suppose to help me with something today?”
“Ah! I forgot.” Aya raised her hand to a salute sign by the edge of her forehead with her tongue stuck out. Aya’s mother just shook her head before looking at Jaejoong.
“Sorry to interrupt your moment alone together. Aya have to help me with something.” Jaejoong nodded and Aya’s mother starts dragging her away.
After Aya and her mother vanished from his sight, Jaejoong glanced down once at the piano keys before flipping the hinged lid back shut. He stuffed both hands into his jean pocket, twirling once staring at the surrounding before he left the room as well.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That late night, Jaejoong headed to the kitchen and made himself some late night supper. He placed the plate of Tteokbokki on the dining table and sat down with his elbows rested on the table beside the plate. Then he took a bottle of spicy sauce and starts shaking it down on the Tteokbokki with his eyes staring blankly to the front.
His mind starts flashing all those information he obtained from Changmin about Uemura Kazuki – the pictures of Uemura Kazuki with Aya, the pictures of Uemura Kazuki with his parents, the details of Kazuki’s birth date and his record in the orphanage… and then suddenly the same whisper of a child voice with a quick flash of a child’s face.
Jaejoong snapped from his thoughts and pulls back the bottle of spicy sauce, placing it with its cap closed on the table. He slides one hand on the side of his face, covering partial of his eye, feeling his breathing breaking for some reason.
He closes his eyes for a short while to calm himself and soothe his breathing before lifting them open again, staring down at his meal.
“Kazuki…” Just as Jaejoong lifts his fork to the dish, he turned towards the voice and saw Aya looking at him. She walks towards him and sat at the seat beside him by the table.
“I couldn’t sleep so I got up and made myself some supper.”
Aya stares curiously at the plate of Tteokbokki and lifts a fork to poke it lightly.
“What is this?” She asked.
“This is a Korean dish called Tteokbokki. It is fried rice cakes.” Jaejoong explained before popping a bite casually into his mouth.
“It looks so red. Must be very spicy.” Aya wrinkled her nose slightly looking at the dish.
“Not really.” Jaejoong said before taking another bite. Seeing Jaejoong eating it so deliciously, Aya poke her fork to dish and took one bite as well.
“No!” Jaejoong was too late to stop her as Aya was already chewing the rice cake. Almost instantly Aya felt her face steamed up from the spiciness and her mouth spreads open with her hand lifts up, fanning her mouth rapidly. Jaejoong promptly got a glass of warm water for her and she gulped half the glass in one go. Tears already brimming down the edges of her eyes.
“I… I never knew you… could eat something… this spicy. Those years in Korea… indeed changed you…” Aya spoke breathlessly, letting out a cough or two between breaths.
“Aya…”
Aya gulped down the remaining water in the glass before turning towards Jaejoong, seeing him looking down with a troubled face. He raised his head and stares straight at her.
“I am going back to Korea tomorrow.”
