“Ri In…”
Ri In halted when Junsu called after her.
“Do you know that guy?” He finally asked.
“Sorry… I need to be alone for awhile.” Ri In continues her way to her room and promptly closes the door behind her.
Junsu never seen Ri In like this; there must be some connection to that man just now.
{Who was that man just now?} Junsu wondered.

Ri In just threw herself on her bed, burying her face on her pillow. The tears she been restraining flows down uncontrollably.
“I thought I would never meet him again… Why now…” Ri In’s voice was shivering. She still remembers the day she last saw him.
[Ri In POV: Flashback]
“HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US!!!”
I could hear my mother shouting downstairs. I took quiet steps down the stairs and hid at a corner, peeking at my parents looking like they were fighting.
“I am sorry… there isn’t love between us in the first place. We were forced into this marriage. It is better for the both of us this way.”
“Best for both of us? Or best for you… so you can go with that… that witch!”
“I WON’T ALLOW YOU TO INSULT HER LIKE THAT!!”
“I WILL CALL HER WHATEVER I WANT!! THAT WIT…”
Before my mother could continue, my father already laid a hard slap on her face, pushing her down the ground.
“Mommy!”
I rushed downstairs to my mother’s side and my mother hugged me in her embrace. My hands touching the slap my dad gave my mother and I could feel it burning hot.
My father just turns towards the door about to leave but I marched forward holding him by his leg.
“Daddy… where are you going? Are you leaving Li Yin?” I asked, wrapping my arms around his leg.
“Li Yin… Let go of me!” My father tries to move but I held his leg tight, I shook my head from side to side, not willing to budge even a bit.
“LI YIN LET GO!! DON’T MAKE DADDY MAD!!” My father voice rose.
“NO!!” I yelled back.
But my father used his might and swings me off his leg, my arms released from his leg as I fell to the floor, minor scratches appeared on my elbow and hands.
My mother stood up and marched forward to my father, giving him a slap on his left cheek. They exchanged glares before my father rushed out the door, slamming the door on his way out.
Tears flow down my face, it wasn’t because of the wound on my elbow… but because of the wound in my heart, the wound caused by my dad roughly pushing me aside. The scratches on my elbow and hands are nothing compare to the pain in my heart. He doesn’t want me anymore. My father doesn’t love me anymore.
My mother bends down beside me and hugged me in her embrace as I buried my face in her chest.
“It’s okay Li Yin. Mommy is still here. We don’t need daddy anymore. Mommy will forever be by your side… Never leaving you.”
My cries got louder. I have never cried so much in my whole life. I will never forget that day till the day I die. I vow to never forgive my dad, never forgiving the damage he did to my mother and me.
[End Flashback]

Junsu heard a knock by the main door and went to opens it. He was surprised to see the man from just now standing by the door, his hand holding the boy just now.
“I am sorry but… is Ri In here?” The man asked.
“Yes she is. I will go call her.”
“Wait!”
Junsu was about to turn towards Ri In room when the man stopped him. He turns back to face the man.
“I don’t think she will want to see me… Not after what I done to her…”
Questions begin to fill Junsu’s head. Who is this man? What has he done to Ri In that she doesn’t want to see him?
“I only ask that you pass this to her…”
The man held Junsu’s hand and placed something in his palm.
“I know I would not be able to make up for the damage I did to her… You seem to care for her a lot. Please take good care of her from now on…”
With that, the man turns away and left with the boy. Junsu could see the sadness in that man’s eyes. There seems to be a very strong bond between Ri In and that man; at least enough for Ri In to have that expression on her face just now. Junsu sprint off to Ri In’s room; determine to find out what Ri In is hiding from him.

“Ri In!! Ri In are you there?”
Ri In heard Junsu calling her and knocking the door outside.
“Just go away! Leave me alone!”
“Ri In open up!”
Junsu kept knocking on the door. Ri In would never reject Junsu but this time she feels it is best if she was left alone.
{Please Junsu… please just let me be by myself for now.} Ri In thought to herself, covering her head with her pillow and lying facedown on the bed.
Then… everywhere suddenly became quiet… Junsu might have finally left her. Ri In loosens the grip on her pillow, lying there trying to get some sleep. Out of a sudden, she heard footsteps walking near her. She removes the pillow from her head only to see Junsu standing there beside her.
“How did you get in here?” Ri In asked.
“That is not important… What important is this…” Junsu stretched his palm to Ri In. Ri In saw a little doll in his palm.
“That man just now managed to find us… He asked me to hand this to you…”
Ri In recognized that doll. It was her father’s first gift to her, but she threw it away not long after he left her. He must have secretly picked it back again.
The more Ri In stares at the doll, the more the anger in her increases. She snatched the doll from Junsu and threw it on the floor, furiously stomping it non-stop.
“RI IN!”
Junsu rushed to her side, trying to drag her away but she doesn’t budge. The tears flow down her face again.
“RI IN! RI IN STOP IT!!” But Ri In was blinded by hatred; she didn’t hear Junsu at all.
Junsu bends down trying to grab the doll away but his hand was stomped by Ri In instead. He sat by the floor, holding onto his hand that was now bruising badly. Ri In regained herself and bends down to check the bruise on Junsu’s hand.
“Junsu are you okay? Does it hurt?” Ri In said, sounded panicky.
“I am fine…” Junsu said. Ri In reached her hand to gently touch the bruise, only to have Junsu flinch from it.
“THIS IS ALL HIS FAULT!! I HATE HIM… I HATE HIM!!” Ri In tried to snatch the doll again but Junsu grabs it and threw it a little far away. Ri In went forward to grab it but Junsu wraps his arms around her from behind, locking her hand by her chest and tightening his hold.
“Let go! Junsu let go of me!” Ri In struggled to break free.
“RI IN CALM DOWN!!”
Ri In’s body trembling as she slowly falls down. Junsu turns her so that her head was buried in his chest. As Ri In’s cries got louder, Junsu felt his heart aching badly. He couldn’t do anything but let her cry with all her might.

Ri In finally calm down but she still remains in Junsu’s embrace, staring blankly.
“That man…” Ri In spoke up and Junsu turns his attention to her.
“That bastard… is my father…” Ri In continued.
“Your father? I never heard you talking about your father before…”
“He left me and my mother for another woman… No matter how much I beg him not to leave, he pushes me aside and still left. He rather be with that woman than me. He doesn’t love me at all, he never does…” Ri In’s eyes begin to fill with tears again; she tightens her hold around Junsu.
“It hurts… I didn’t want my mother to worry but it really hurts… Every time I see a family happily together, the pain comes back…”
Ri In pulled back her hands and pressed them against her chest.
“Why did I have to see him again… my heart feels like it is about to explode…” Ri In lowers her head so Junsu can’t see her face.
Junsu lifted up her face and wipes off the tears on her face with his right hand, then he suddenly leans in and gave her a kiss on the lip. His lip never left hers as the kiss deepens and became more passionate; then he slowly went down kissing her along her neck.
“Junsu…” Ri In pushes Junsu away from her so that his eyes were staring straight into hers. Junsu realized what he was doing and stood up straight, not looking at her.
“Sorry… I guess I should go now.” Junsu sprint out of the room and halted outside by the wall. He slaps one hand on his forehead. He didn’t know what came over him. When he saw Ri In like that he couldn’t help but embraced her. He didn’t want things to end up like that. He felt like a jerk taking advantage of her at a time like this. Now he is worried what Ri In would think of him.
On the other hand, Ri In’s heart was beating fast from what Junsu did just now. Although some part of her kind of accepted that but she doesn’t want to make the same mistake her parents made. She doesn’t want Junsu to regret his decision. She will just patiently wait for the day she could be sure the love between them is true.
