Junsu leans by the edge of the entrance of the kitchen, staring at Ri In as she prepares the dinner for tonight. His stare was as cold as ever.
As Ri In turns to take the last dish out, Junsu stood back up straight and walks to the dinner table. Ri In noticed that expression on Junsu’s face and felt sad inside. She shakes off the feeling and put a smile on her face before she leaves the kitchen with the dish.
“Ri In… you are quite a good cook… just like your mother.” Mrs. Kim said as she taste the dishes made by Ri In. Junsu just took small bites and was playing around with the food.
“Thanks Auntie… But these are just some simple dishes; I am still not as good as my mother. This is all I could do before I have to leave for China soon.”
Out of the sudden, Junsu placed his chopstick back on the table and stood up.
“I am full now. If you need me, I will be in my room…” Junsu said coldly and walks back to his room.
Ri In frown at Junsu being like this even before she told him she was going back to China since her mother’s sickness has gone better now and was discharged from the hospital. She really missed her mother but on one hand, she doesn’t want to leave all the friends she has here… and especially Junsu.

[Junsu POV: Flashback]
“Hello... Wo shi Li Yin… Ni shuo wo ma ma zen me le?!” (Hello… I am Ri In… What did you say happened to my mother?!”)
I was standing behind the door, watching as the expression on Ri In’s face changed. It seems to be an important call. After a while Ri In finally hung up. I was about to walk to her when I saw tears flowing down her face. She wipes off the tears on her face and a smile came on. Seeing that, I made my way quietly towards her, hoping to give her a surprise.
“Thank goodness… she has finally gotten better. I can’t wait to go back to see her.” Ri In said to herself while smiling. She didn’t realize I was just behind her so I heard the whole thing. She is going back to China… she is leaving… I feel the pain in my heart and the expression on my face unexpectedly changed to a cold one.
Ri In turns and was shocked to see me behind her.
“Junsu… when did you get here? I guess I will tell this sooner or later. My mother was discharged from the hospital; I am going back to China soon.”
My heart aches more hearing it personally from her while she still has that smile on her face.
“Good for you…” I said coldly and just turns away and left. I regret opening my heart, only to suffer the pain of having another loved one leave me again. I am better off being by myself; being the way I was after Hee Bon’s death and before Ri In came to my life…
[End Flashback]
Junsu was lying on his bed, crossing his legs together as he reads a book. Ri In gave a few knocks on the door before she goes in. She saw the expression on Junsu’s face was colder than the first time they met, that made her a little scared inside.
“What do you want?” Junsu asked coldly without looking at Ri In.
“Erm… Auntie asked me to bring this up to you. It is supposed to be good for your throat.” Ri In placed the drink on Junsu’s study desk. Seeing Junsu not responding to her, Ri In felt her heart aching.
“I guess I should be leaving now. Sorry to bother you.” Ri In turns and walks towards the door. As she opens the door about to leave, she saw a hand a little higher than hers slamming the door shut. She turned and was faced with the coldness in Junsu’s eyes.
Junsu corned her by the wall, placing both his hands by the wall just beside her head and stares at her. Ri In turns her head a little, trying not to face with those cold eyes of his.
“Do you really have to go?” Junsu asked coldly. Ri In just remained silent, still not daring to look him straight in the eyes.
“Would you stay if I ask you to?” Junsu said softly, slowing turning down into a whisper.
Ri In turns and gaze into Junsu’s eyes. She could have sworn she saw it getting teary but Junsu turns away quick, pulling back his hands and walks towards his bed, halting just beside it.
“Leave before I change my mind…” Junsu said with his back facing her.
Ri In lowers her head, restraining her tears as she leaves Junsu’s room and headed back to her room.
As the door closed, Junsu placed his hand on his bed to steady himself before he sits down with his head lowered. He presses his hand on his chest, feeling the pain inside of having to let her go.
Meanwhile, Ri In reached back to her room and leans her back on the door. Then she slowly slides down to the floor, pulling her knees together and hugs them, burying her face on her knees. What is she to do… although her mother is already discharged from the hospital, but she is still weak. She doesn’t want to leave Junsu but her mother needs her care now, she can’t abandon her mother…

It was finally the day of the school festival. Ri In waited at the backstage, preparing for her performance; her hand crunching on the lyrics as she was nervous, she doesn’t know if she could handle the crowd outside and what would they think of her.
“Ri In!”
Ri In turns to see Yoona and Yeon Hee coming her way. She let out a smile when they reached her side.
“Good luck on your performance! We will be by the crowd, rooting for you!” Yoona said.
“Thanks…”
“Don’t be so nervous! Junsu will be there to lead you… You will be fine.”
Ri In’s face changed with the mention of Junsu. She could still feel the chill remembering the coldness in Junsu’s eyes yesterday.
“What’s wrong Ri In?” Yoona asked, putting her hand on Ri In’s shoulder.
“Nothing…” Ri In answered and gave Yoona a weak smile.
“Jaejoong!” Ri In turns to the back when she heard Yeon Hee calling Jaejoong. The gang was coming towards them and Yeon Hee went over to Jaejoong and wraps her hands on his arm even before he reached them.
“Good luck for your performance later!” Yoona said.
“Hearing that from you Yoona gave me more spirit to perform later.” Yoochun said and Yoona gave him a hit on the chest.
“Ri In… you will be performing after our song. Be prepared by then.” Yunho said.
“Okay…” Ri In took a glance at Junsu but he doesn’t even make any eye contact with her and just stares to the ground.
“We will be going then. Good luck!” Yoona and Yeon Hee wave goodbye before going off.

As Junsu, Jaejoong, Changmin, Yoochun and Yunho went up the stage, the crowd was cheering wildly. Ri In just peek from the curtain backstage, this is the first time she sees them performing live with such a huge crowd. She really anticipates how it will be like.
[Song played: Tonight by DBSK]
Ri In was totally mesmerized by their performance; their vocals were incredible. It felt different from the first time she saw them sing in the music room. When it was Junsu’s turn to sing, her heart skips a beat as she watches how focus he is in his singing. It is like he changed into another person. She could even see angel glows all around the boys. They really are talented.

After their performance, the boys gave a bow and the crowd applauds for the wonderful performance. Then Jaejoong, Changmin, Yunho and Yoochun left the stage one-by-one, heading back to the backstage and leaving Junsu alone there.
“That was awesome!” Ri In said to the boys.
“Thanks…” Yunho answered, feeling a little shy.
“Ri In… you are next. Wait for the cue.” One of the staff said and Ri In nodded. She held in a deep breath hoping to calm her nervous heart.
“Relax! Just do like what you practiced.” Yoochun said, giving Ri In a smile.
[Song played: Timeless by Jang Ri In ft. Kim Junsu]
When the music was played, Ri In peek from the backstage again. She watches how well the melody flows around Junsu, really indulge into the lyrics. When it was Ri In’s turn, she slowly walks out from the backstage, singing with as much emotion in her and gazing straight into Junsu’s eyes.
[Song end]
The crowd cheers as the duet performance has finished. Now it was time for Ri In’s solo performance. Junsu walks passed her, giving a quick pat on her shoulder before he walks to the backstage.
[Song played: Y(Why) by Jang Ri In)
As Ri In indulges herself into the performance, her nervousness disappeared instantly. The crowd listens with much concentration till the end. Before she knew it, it was already the end of the song. There was a moment of silent before everyone stands up and applauds. Ri In was touched; she never knew the response would be so great. Ri In gave a bow of appreciation before she dismissed herself.

“Ri In your performance was incredible!” Yoona and Yeon Hee said excitedly.
“The school festival is finally over!” Jaejoong stretches his hand up high before landing it on Yeon Hee’s shoulder.
“I was glad to be able to get some nice food from the stalls opened.” Changmin said.
“Is it just the food? I think I saw someone flirting with the girl in the stall?” Yoochun teased.
“I… I was just asking her opinion on which she thinks is the best” Changmin explained. Everyone laughed when they saw a little blush on Changmin’s face.
“Junsu… you are being awfully quiet.” Yunho said softly to Junsu.
“I am fine…” Junsu answered coldly.
Everyone was walking happily together when Ri In halted, which cause everyone to stop too and switch their attention to her.
“There is something I have to tell you guys…”
All of them gave Ri In a questioning look, except Junsu since he already knew what she was about to say.
“I am leaving for China tomorrow…”
Their eyes widened from the sudden farewell they are hearing from Ri In.
