Eric Moon that rascal was so fake earlier. But he is one lucky guy. He has a happy family and an adorable son. That little boy Timmy… so he was the cancer patient that almost died… He was Chae Yeon’s little friend.
Is this a sign? Did my meeting with Timmy mean something? Was it a signal for me to go look for Chae Yeon? As I though about what I should do, my hands automatically dialled Joseph’s number.
“I have a blank cheque assignment for you” I said to my trusted private investigator.
“Let me guess. You want me to hunt Yokozuma down so you can kill him?” Joseph asked excitedly.
“No” I said ridiculously, trying to hint to him that this is nothing of that sort.
“You want me to find Kim Jong Kook’s family and torture them?” Joseph asked again.
“No. Don’t be crazy. Since you mentioned, can you please make sure that Eun Hye is doing alright? After all she’s been under me for so many years now.” I said
“Don’t be fool Mr Boss, she was working for her husband. Not you. Being soft hearted was what got you into so much trouble” Joseph said daringly to me.
“Well.. whatever. Just don’t harm her, she is just a woman” I sighed.
“So what is my blank cheque job?” Joseph asked seriously this time.
“Find Lee Chae Yeon for me. I want to marry her again” I instructed him verbally as I did mentally to myself.
I love this woman and I want her back.
“Why Boss Why? You…” Joseph wanted to protest
“Just do it. This is an order” I snapped him off and hung up the phone.

After a few days, I have not heard from Joseph. I tossed and turned on the left side of the bed but I just cannot get to sleep. I looked at the right side of the bed. That was where Chae Yeon slept that night. I stupidly placed the teddy bear beside me and closed my eyes. Two minutes had passed and I am still wide awake.
“What is the progress?” I text messaged Joseph
“What progress?” He replied.
My blood pressure shot sky high as I pressed the reply button.
“Lee Chae Yeon. Where is she and why have you not reverted?” I sent the message.
“Oh her.. don’t worry, she is still alive.” Joseph replied.
I am going to kill him. I picked up the other phone and speed dialled him, at the same time messaging him.
“Pick up the damm phone” was my text message.
*Ring ring*
“Tell me where she is” I demanded as soon as he picked up the call.
“You do know its 3am?” Joseph asked with a yawn.
“I know you and the rest don’t like her but I love her and I will do anything to get her back. Please. Tell me where she is” I pleaded.
Lee Minwoo pleading .. this must be a joke to him. Wait till I get my woman back. Joseph is going to get a sever pay cut from me. But now, he is the only one capable for finding her.
“She’s in Jeju Island. I’ll meet you tomorrow to pass you the details. You don’t need to be in such a hurry. Your divorce agreement was rejected by the family court. So you are still married.” Joseph replied.
“Meet me at 6am.” I said and hung up the phone excitedly.
That should allow me to reach her by noon time wouldn’t it?
That next morning, I had her address in my hand and a large Mickey mouse in the other. This Mickey had a head bigger than mine and it looked really stupid to me. But since she likes the mouse, I really don’t mind carrying it up the plane all the way to Jeju.
What had become of me? I am a little worried but the excitement of seeing Chae Yeon again made all the worries go away.
The taxi stopped at a simple little terrace house in the suburban area of Jeju. It was close to noon now. Could she be in? I got off the taxi and took careful little steps towards the gate. As soon as I reached the gate, two little puppies came running out towards me, but they were blocked by the gate. Shortly after that, a bigger dog ran out.
It was strawberry. Or whatever name it had. I don’t remember anymore and it is no longer important. What is important now is that I have found my woman. I found Lee Chae Yeon.
“Strawberry!” I shouted as I bend down to stretch my hand through the gates to want to pat her. All of a sudden, strawberry came barking at me and bite my hand. I quickly retracted my hand and starred in shock. Why would a dog bite its own master? Did she not remember me anymore?
I stood back up and rang the bell, when I observed that the dog which bit me was a male dog. Strawberry was a female right? That was why she got pregnant.
Yes… I would think so. Now I am beginning to doubt my own memory.
I used my hankie to stop the blood that was oozing out from my hand as I walked up and down outside the small house, with the dog that looked like strawberry eyeing and growling at my every move.
After waiting for a good ten minutes, I decided to walk away. Maybe later in the evening would be a better time. As I turned around to flag a taxi, another dog came running towards me and playfully placed its claw on my pants. I bend down and saw that this is the real Strawberry. My heart suddenly started beating very fast as I guessed who was behind this dog.
I looked up and saw her.
Chae Yeon, my Chae Yeon.
I stood up and met face to face with her. She seemed shocked to see me, she looked at me with her head tilted to one side, as she slowly walked towards me.
“Chae Yeon ah….” I started speaking but was interrupted by a French baguette which came smacking down on my head and rested on my shoulders. She is using her groceries to hit me?
I hid away from her but she continued chasing after me, hitting me continuously with that bread as I shun and ran in circles around her.
“Hey hey hey” I used my hands to grab her both hands firmly to look her in the eye.
“Lee Minwoo! I hate you!” She said as she tried to struggle.
“You hate me? But I love you and the more you hit me, the more I know you actually love me” I pulled her in my arms and hugged her tightly, not allowing her to move one single bit.

“Cheesecake bit you so badly?” Chae Yeon carefully and gently wrapped Minwoo’s wound up for him with a long piece of gauze.
“So the male dog’s name is Cheesecake?” Minwoo looked at her with a sweet smile. His hand, was supposed to hurt, but he felt nothing. All he felt was a sweet sensation of sizzle in his heart.
“It’s a cute name right?” Chae Yeon smiled back at Minwoo as she placed a plaster to secure her bandage.
“Why are you here? Why don’t you continue living in Seoul?” Minwoo pushed the first aid kit away and pulled Chae Yeon into his arms, trapping her like he did the last time. Except that this time, she wasn’t struggling.
“I was trying to find a husband for Strawberry.. and Cheesecake’s owner needed a house and dog sitter while she goes away on a retreat. The timing and location fitted well too… the pet hospital here is the best in Asia Pacific!” Chae Yeon lifted her head up and told Minwoo.
“That’s why you came all the way here? For Strawberry to deliver her puppies?” Minwoo placed his face against her hair to smell her scent.
“I had nothing else to do” Chae Yeon said as she nodded her head.
“Well I can give you something to do” Minwoo whispered in her ears.
“You should put your shirt back on. The wound is on your arm” Chae Yeon pushed herself out of the arms of the half naked Minwoo.
“Marry me” Minwoo pulled her back to where she belonged.
“No” Chae Yeon said as she secretly smiled
“Date me then, let’s start from fresh.” Minwoo pulled the Mickey mouse he brought to entice her. He wasn’t planning to tell her about the validity of their marriage cert.
“No” Chae Yeon carried the mouse close to her, making it impossible for Minwoo to hug her anymore.
“Let’s be friends then.” Minwoo said sincerely
“I don’t befriend gangsters.” Chae Yeon said as she walked out of the room.
“I’ve stopped being one. As of yesterday I decided that. I gave up my title to Eric Moon” Minwoo explained as he followed her out the room.
“As my friend you are not allowed to have other women” Chae Yeon continued as she walked into the kitchen.
“Yes. No other women. Only Lee Chae Yeon.” Minwoo raised his hand to swear.
“As my friend you must also come home for dinner every night and think of me every hour of the day. You must…” Chae Yeon’s words were interrupted by Minwoo, who had pasted his lips on her.
“Yes my friend, I agree to all your requests. You can throw me out if I disappoint you in anyway.” Minwoo said and kissed her again, leaving her no chance to answer or respond.
“Okay” Chae Yeon said as she blushed uncontrollably.
Between them, it was no longer bittersweet happiness. They were blissfully happy and very much in love. Unpleasant circumstances had made them stronger and gave their paper marriage a chance to become one with real love and passion.
“Do you love me?” Chae Yeon asked Minwoo
“Very much” he replied
“Do you love me?” Minwoo asked Chae Yeon
“I do, since the day we got married” she replied
