Chapter 1

Staring outside the window I recall the times that I have spent with Ximen. Its been two months since he accepted F3 and Shan Cai’s offer to accept me as his fiancé. He had a bet with his father that he would get married within the end of the year and if he doesn’t he’ll leave the company or let his father find a wife for him. He doesn’t have any choice but to agree with f3 and Shan Cai’s plan because he doesn’t want to leave nor to let his father choose for his bride. We acted as a couple but I know that he’s just forced to do it. Come to think of it I was also to be blamed for what I am feeling right now. If I too didn’t accept Shan Cai’s offer to be Ximen’s fiancé I wouldn’t experience the feeling of being ignored and left behind.

It’s been two months since we started this masquerade and it’s been two months since I started to doubt my decision of accepting Shan Cai’s offer to be his fiancé. I didn’t notice that it’s already 5 in the afternoon. By this time Ximen would be driving back here. After a few minutes I heard him call me.

I hurriedly went to open the door and gave him a peck. I know he got surprised because every time that we’ll meet or he’ll visit me, I’ll give him a kiss on the lips. I was always the one who initiates the kiss and the hug.

“How’s work?” I asked him forcing my self to smile.

“Nothing new” he said as he released him self from our hug and went directly to the sofa.

Every day after he came from work he’ll visit me here in my apartment and we’ll eat dinner together. This was our friends entire plan. I know that they want us to be together and they want to help Ximen to win on the bet but you cannot force a person to be in a relationship if he doesn’t want to be involved in it…right?. Especially if the girl that you are forced to be with is me.

“What’s for dinner?” He asked me as he removed his suit and slumped down from the sofa.

“I forgot to make one” I simply said to him

“Lets go” he said as he stood up and then again put his coat.

“Where to?”

“We’ll just eat dinner outside”
