We were greeted by the waiter and ushered us to our usual table.
“What will you have Shaoye?” the waiter asked him
“I’ll just have a steak and a garden salad” he told the guy and handed him the menu
“…and what’s for you shao jie?”
“She’ll have…..” he didn’t finish what he is about to say because I already told the waiter what I want.
“I’ll just have a tuna casserole”
He looked at me and then to the waiter. He told the waiter that he can go now. Ever since we became a couple Ximen would always be the one to decide for me. He’ll be the one to choose for my dress, what I would eat, what I would buy and so on and so forth. I don’t have the choice to decline on whatever he want me to do or to buy. I just want my freedom to decide on whatever I like to be back. I don’t want to be controlled by him.
After a few hours we finished eating our dinner and left the restaurant. He gave me a lift then without giving me a kiss or even saying goodbye he left me and went back to his house. I know that he really doesn’t like me but because of his situation he doesn’t have any choice but to be with me.
As the months pass by I didn’t realized that its just 3 days before our wedding. I came into a plan that before the wedding would begin I will leave Taipei and go back to Canada. All my things are now in my bag and the only thing that I have to do is leave. The day of the wedding arrived and I left my apartment with all my things and proceeded to the airport. I left Shan Cai a letter telling her that I’ll be leaving and I’ll be not attending my wedding and just tell Ximen that I am sorry.
I heard my flight was being called when suddenly my phone rang.
“Wei?”
“Xaio You where are you!!!?” I heard the person on the other line screamed
“Come back here right now!!”
“Shan Cai let me go” I beg at her. “Let me go. I don’t want to marry Ximen because he is forced to do it.”
“Auntie’s been looking for you. I don’t know what I am going to tell her if she found out that you’re gone”
“Tell her that I left….. just make an excuse Shan Cai or better yet tell her the truth that you guys just forced me to marry Ximen”
“No! we cant do that. Ximen’s mom will kill us if she found out that Ximen and his dad had a bet and knowing that we helped him, I’m sure that we’ll be in trouble ”
“Please Xiao You come back…. Don’t jilt Ximen on your wedding” Shan Cai begged at me.
“Ok. I’ll be there in a few minutes” I told her without even thinking for a few seconds.
I love Ximen but I don’t want to marry him if he doesn’t want me to. I hurriedly left the airport and went directly to my apartment. There I saw Shan Cai, Jing and Xiao Qiao already waiting for me. As soon as I went inside I received a lecture and a whack from Shan Cai. They hurriedly dressed me and as soon as I was fully prepared for the occasion we all went to the church were the beginning of my new life would start….. I just hope that I am making the right decision on marrying him…..
