Chapter 8

Fresh Blood.

Yoona signaled Donghae to her hiding spot. As he approached the tree, he stumbled across one of it's thick roots and fell. His carelessness caused Yoona's belongings from her school bag to scatter across the dirt.
“Thank goodness you're all right. I was really worried when I saw your school bag on the ground” he whispered.
“Shhhh”, asking him to be quiet, she pointed towards the group of people.
Donghae and Yoona tried to gather up her belonging as quickly as possible. He notices the Poise book and what seems to be the uniform of the Poise Agency and began questioning.
“Those kids must be near” the leader said. “Let's split up to find them.”
The group of people scattered throughout the park.
“We must think of a plan.” Donghae suggested.
“Quick, turn around” she commanded.
Without hesitating, he faced the other way. Yoona quickly put on the uniform.
“You can look now.” she said.
“You're planning to scare then away?” he questioned.

Donghae stepped out from behind the tree and grabbed one of the men's attention.
“I found them” he hollered to his group of people.
“You better run before it's too late.” Donghae stated.
The group of men who managed to gather together simply laughed at Donghae's silliness. Yoona stepped out from behind the tree. The men gasped.
“A member of the Poise Agency?” one stuttered. “No way.”
“We better leave,” the leader commented.
The men left the area.
“You’re?” Donghae said, while pointed up to her.
“Please, you can’t tell anyone, or I’ll be in big trouble,” she begged him.
“Only if you agree to tell me the whole story first, then I’ll promise, I will never tell anyone your secret,” he said.

Yoona and Donghae headed back to her home.
“Why did you go looking for me? You promised to escort us home.” Yoona said.
“I promised you, not her,” he said angrily.
Yoona stopped walking for a second, but then moved again as she answered back, “Let’s go, Jessica’s waiting.”

After they returned home, they completely stopped talking to one another throughout the entire party. Jessica noticed their actions, until Donghae came up to her.
“Happy Birthday, my friend,” he said.
“Thanks,” she replied. “Although am I just a friend to you?” Jessica asked while she softly smiled at him.
Although he seems to know what she had implied, he simply replied. “Aren't we good friends?.”
“I mean a boy-“she said, but quickly got cut off by him.
“I have to go home now, here’s your present,” he said, and handed her a small pink box wrapped with hot pink ribbons. After saying goodbye to Jessica’s parents, he left.

***Donghae’s Flashbacks***
“Here, give this to her, you can’t just give her candy as a birthday gift.” Yoona said, while handing a small pink box.
“Why go through all the trouble?” He said after taking the box.
Donghae’s POV: Oh I get it; she must want me to be with Jessica.
***End of Flashbacks***

Later that night, neither Yoona nor Jessica could go to sleep. Yoona wasn’t able to sleep because she was thinking of Donghae. Jessica on the other hand wasn’t able to notice anything because her hunger distracted her.
She headed to the bathroom, this time she was brave enough to look at her right shoulder.
Unfortunately, the wound was still there.
Suddenly someone with a mask appeared right next to her. She was about to scream, but then didn’t because he gave her a pouch of blood. Shockingly, Jessica drinks all the blood, to the very last drop.
“Let me tell you, you are a vampire now.” He said. “From now on you must work for us By working for us, you’ll be able to have a full stomach.”
“Vampire?” she said, while blood was dripping down from her chin.
“It’s a good thing he didn’t drink all your blood last time. So, thank him by getting us blood from your family members.” He said.
“My family?” she asked.
“That’s right, I want you to go and kill them so I can get some fresh blood for once.” He commanded.
