Xiao Qing became extremely enthusiastic to give Shan Cai some piano lessons, claiming that a soon-to-be Mrs Dao Ming must at least know how to play one instrument. However, that was only an excuse, and Xiao Qing’s real motive was to spend more time with Shan Cai, even if it meant stealing Dao Ming Si’s time with his girlfriend. Xiao Qing really liked Shan Cai.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“OH MY GOODNESS!” Xiao Qing’s eyes were ready to fall out of their sockets when she saw Shan Cai’s piano. “SHAN CAI, YOU HAVE A CRYSTAL GRAND PIANO?!”
Shan Cai smiled pleasantly. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Lei gave it to me as a birthday present.”
Xiao Qing looked at her giddily. “Have I just entered a fairytale?”
“Meeting F4 and becoming their friend...or girlfriend...is a fairytale itself.”
Xiao Qing sat down extra carefully on the clear crystal seat and shifted to one side as Shan Cai sat next to her. “Do you remember any pieces?” she asked, scanning through a music book.
“Yeah, only one,” replied Shan Cai, “Marriage D’Amour.” She brought her hands up to open the lid of the piano and rested her fingers gently over the keys. Hesitating briefly, she began the soft introduction with her left hand, then added the melody gracefully with her right hand. An amused grin crept to her face as she remembered herself playing for Dao Ming Feng at Dao Ming Si’s twenty-first. They were a priceless few moments; the first time Dao Ming Feng was openly challenged and insulted to her face.
Xiao Qing watched Shan Cai with admiration; not because she played particularly well, but because she played it in such a heartfelt way. “How come you only remember this piece?” she asked curiously, “When did you learn the piano?”
“I’ve actually played the piano for ten years,” Shan Cai explained, “But I was never good at it because I didn’t get regular lessons. I only had lessons when my parents saved enough money. This is my favourite piece and I used to play it everyday. That’s why it’s the only one I remember.”
Xiao Qing listened to Shan Cai end off the piece with a lovely broken chord. “It’s quite ironic,” she commented, “The name of the piece ‘Marriage D’Amour’ means ‘marriage of love’ in French. If there’s anything that F4 struggles with, then it’s being able to marry someone they love.”
Shan Cai sighed and closed the lid of the piano. “I think it’s pathetic. Before I met F4, I thought arranged marriages were cultural. I thought they were either the ones which happened many years ago, or the ones which still happen in those more conservative cultures today. But Taiwan is a very civilised nation, and the places where F4’s parents work, New York, Los Angeles, England and Japan, are some of the most highly civilised areas on Earth.”
Xiao Qing nodded in agreement. “In the media, these wealthy families would be promoting peace, freedom and liberality. Meanwhile, it’s these same families who are forcing their own children into political marriages for the prosperity of their businesses. They think marriages are the only way two companies would trust each other enough to cooperate. Have they ever thought that their children would have to spend their whole life with someone they don’t love?”
“But you don’t need to worry about that,” Shan Cai said with a teasing smile, “If Dao Ming Si’s dad can be refused by you, then I don’t see any reason why Lei’s parents would refuse you!”
“Shan Cai! Lei and his parents would definitely choose Jing over me. Besides, Lei and I are only friends.”
“But you like him! There...there...you’re blushing! Qing Qing, it’s only a matter of time that he gets over Jing and falls for a little angel like you.”
“Whatever. What about Ah Si?” Xiao Qing nudged Shan Cai playfully. “I always catch him staring at you with a dreamy smile.”
Shan Cai shrugged. “So what? He’s my boyfriend. He’s allowed to stare at me whenever he wants.”
“Do you ever wonder what’s in his mind?” Xiao Qing asked with a cheeky grin. “Since you live with him, there must be some stuff that goes on at night time.”
Shan Cai’s face grew bright red. “We sleep in separate rooms, Qing Qing.”
“Ooooh, does he sneak into your room sometimes?”
“You’re getting influenced by Mei Zuo and Xi Men.”
“You have to remember that Ah Si’s a GUY too.”
“Oh, really?” Shan Cai answered sarcastically, “I’m not very sure about that!”
“Maybe you should check!”
WHACK!

Jing wandered around her bedroom aimlessly as a million thoughts raced through her mind. She was the CEO of the Teng Tang Corporation. She was the beloved daughter of one of the richest families in Taiwan. She was childhood friends with the rich, famous and handsome F4. She was the woman Hua Ze Lei has loved since kindergarten. She was possibly the most beautiful woman on Earth. She had everything any girl could wish for. She was the cynosure of all eyes. Why was she so unhappy?
Jing sat down on the side of her bed with a small ring box in her hands. It was a pretty heart-shaped box covered in light pink velvet, with a small white bow at the top. Her fingers trembled slightly as she opened the box, revealing the beautiful diamond ring perched inside. It was her engagement ring. She stared at it for several prolonged moments, her face reflecting the pain and anguish in her heart. “I miss you so much, Pierre,” she whispered longingly, her eyes stinging with unshed tears. “I know you must hate me now.” She closed her eyes and tears began trickling down her face; she was not always the calm and composed Teng Tang Jing everyone knew.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. She quickly wiped the tears from her face and hid the ring box inside the cupboard. “Just a minute. I’m getting changed.” She waited until she fully recovered before opening the door. “Mum? What are you doing up so late?”
Mrs Teng Tang entered the room and closed the door behind her, looking carefully at her daughter. “Jing, I need to talk to you,” she said slowly. She sat down on Jing’s bed, and after a few moments of hesitation, she continued, “Your father wanted me to ask you when you’re planning to...”
“I know.” Jing looked away sadly, her eyes brimming with tears again. “I just needed some time.”
Mrs Teng Tang looked at her worriedly. “It could be time that we don’t have.”
“I’m sorry, mum. I’ll do it soon...very soon.”
“Have you talked to him yet?”
Jing shook her head. “I never had the chance. Even if I did, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.”
Mrs Teng Tang sighed and nodded with understanding. “Your father was very anxious when he saw him dancing with another girl at the ball. And you didn’t dance with him at all that night. We’re hoping that this girl does not try to compete with you. Firstly, we don’t want to upset her. Secondly, we can’t waste anymore time.”
“That’s the problem,” Jing said softly, “She is a nice girl and she seems to love him a lot. I don’t want to hurt either of them. In fact, F4 will be very disappointed and upset with me. Shan Cai and Xiao You will probably never talk to me again. Besides, they all know that I don’t love him.”
“Look at it differently, Jing,” Mrs Teng Tang said encouragingly, “You and F4 are childhood friends. You all grew up together and share many happy memories. Maybe he even secretly admires you, as all boys do. I’m sure F4 will support you marrying one of them.”
“He’s three years younger than me!” cried Jing, “I’ve always been just an older sister to him. How can I see him as my husband?”
“But...Jing, your father is already organising the engagement.”
“Mum, please tell dad not to worry. I know what to do.” Then she turned around and murmured quietly to herself, “I wish I really knew what to do."

“Bikini.”
“No.”
“Bikini!”
“No!”
“BIKINI!”
“FINE!” Shan Cai surrendered with a piercing scream.
Dao Ming Si gave her a triumphant smile. “Then hurry up!”
Shan Cai had just finished another one of her ‘piano lessons’ and was very pleased that Hua Ze Lei came to pick Xiao Qing up from the Dao Ming mansion. Then Shan Cai found her gorgeous Dao Ming Si lazy around in his Jacuzzi. He requested her to join him, and after she willingly agreed, he demanded that she must wear her little pink bikini. Shan Cai, being Shan Cai, would probably require a miracle to fulfil her role as an obedient personal maid. Thus, ten minutes of heated protests took place before she finally gave in and Dao Ming Si became the happiest man in the world. To be honest, he was not a pervert at all and nor was he trying to be one. His greatest joy simply came from teasing his little princess and making her surrender to his naughty orders. The rest was just a bonus.
Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours before Shan Cai appeared again in no time at all. She stood at the edge of the Jacuzzi in a white bathrobe, smiling shyly at an annoyed Dao Ming Si.
“That took –” He glanced at his watch. “A total of twelve minutes and thirty-nine seconds!”
“I’m an Olympic world record holder, you know? For the fastest girl to change into a bikini and find her way around the Dao Ming mansion to join her boyfriend in his bubblebath!”
Dao Ming Si gave her a cheeky grin. “You really want a bubblebath with me?”
“In your dreams!” Shan Cai rolled her eyes. Then without warning, she unwrapped her bathrobe and revealed the eagerly anticipated little pink bikini. After a short hesitation, she gave him a nervous smile and slid her body into the warm, soothing water. Dao Ming Si clasped her hand and pulled her onto his lap, sliding his arms around her waist. The immediate skin-to-skin communication was enough to render two hearts to throb simultaneously. Then the mere thought that they were alone in a relatively confined area caused them both to blush at this first hint of intimacy.
“Shan Cai, you should relax,” he said calmly, although his face was equally as red.
“Speak for yourself, you pervert.” Slowly, she began to relax and rested her back against his chest. The water surrounding them was being pumped wildly like a boiling cauldron. Dao Ming Si reached an arm over the side of the Jacuzzi and picked up a small white bottle.
“What are you doing?” Shan Cai asked curiously.
“Giving us a bubblebath,” he replied in a naughty voice.
“What?! Are you serious?!”
“Serious?! Shan Cai, are you crazy?!” He held the bottle up in the air. “I’ve been dying to give you a nice little scrub!”
“NO WAY!” she screamed, trying to move off his lap. But Dao Ming Si had trapped her with his other arm which was wrapped firmly around her waist, not letting her go.
“You’re not going anywhere,” he said with an evil smile. He flicked off the lid of the bottle and began pouring the pearly white substance into the water. Instantly, the whole Jacuzzi frothed up with lavender-scented bubbles, surrounding them in a fluffy white dreamland. He quickly deactivated the massaging jets and the frothing ceased, leaving a quiet, calm bubblebath for their enjoyment. Dao Ming Si looked at Shan Cai and roared into laughter, smearing the foam all over her hair dabbing some on her nose.
“Dao Ming Si, you pighead!” She scooped up a ball of foam and threw it onto his face, smearing it everywhere except over his mouth.
“Shan Cai, I can’t see!”
“I don’t want you to!” Then with an adoring smile, she slid her arms around his neck and claimed his irresistibly sexy lips for long, sweet kiss.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
After dinner, Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai decided to play the piano together. They sat down side by side on the crystal seat and he began teaching her a duet piece. First, he performed his part for her. Then he demonstrated her part a few times until she remembered it.
“I didn’t know you play the piano,” Shan Cai said in a tone of admiration, “And you play so well!”
“I haven’t played for a long time.” He watched with a smile as Shan Cai practised her part, falling in love with her pretty little fingers as they danced gracefully over the keys. He was amazed, and almost felt ridiculous, at how ardently he adored her. When he felt she was becoming confident, he asked, “Are you ready to try it together?”
Shan Cai nodded, and together, they began playing a slow, melodious duet. Occasionally, Dao Ming Si stopped to wait for her or correct her, but after a few repetitions, they mastered it perfectly.
Meanwhile, a mature woman was standing by the doorway, listening to the couple create their lovely music. Her expression began as one of shock, but softened considerably as she watched her son lower his head to give a kiss to his girlfriend. The togetherness of their music was as perfect as the couple themselves. As Dao Ming Feng thought back to her treacherous actions to separate this girl from his son, she felt a strong sense of guilt and foolishness. How could she have been so blind? She continued watching them with increasing interest, realising how much his son has changed after meeting Shan Cai. They looked so incredibly in love and so happy that Dao Ming Feng could not help but reveal a smile of approval. However, her smile quickly disappeared and her face paled as a devastating thought came to mind. Moments later, two drops of tears rolled down her face. Regret. Fear.
Dao Ming Feng turned around and left before her presence was noticed. But before she walked far enough, a maid addressed her with some welcoming greetings. Hearing the conversation, Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai came out of the room immediately, shocked by her sudden and unexpected return to Taiwan.
“Mum,” Dao Ming Si said with a polite smile, “It’s great to see you back.”
“Auntie, did you just arrive?” Shan Cai asked with her most pleasant smile, “Are you feeling tired from the plane trip?”
Dao Ming Feng nodded and returned their smiles, surprised by their warmth and concern for her despite the way she had treated them before her last departure. After some hesitation, she replied gently, “Shan Cai, don’t worry. I travel on planes as much as I travel in cars.”
“Will you be staying for long?” asked Dao Ming Si, “Do you have many meetings?”
She hesitated again before telling him awkwardly, “Ah Si, your father and I have come back to...to deal with some...important issues.”
Dao Ming Si’s eyes widened, partly delighted to hear of his father, yet partly dreading their ‘important issues’. He composed himself before asking, “Is dad back as well? Where is he?”
“He is still in New York,” she explained in a voice of very strong displeasure, “He will be back soon.”

“Lei!”
Hua Ze Lei spun around to find Jing pushing through the crowded corridor and running frantically towards him. He frowned. Jing seldom lost her elegant composure. “Jing, what are you doing at Ying De?”
“I...I need to...talk to you,” she replied while catching her breath, “I have...some important –”
“Let’s join the others for lunch,” he interrupted, feeling uncomfortable to talk to her alone.
“No!” Jing protested desperately, “I need to talk to you, Lei, YOU! This is very serious and important!”
Hua Ze Lei ignored her and headed off towards the Ying De cafeteria, leaving Jing no choice but to follow him.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
F3 and the four girls were sitting in the cafeteria already and had been listening to Dao Ming Si talk about his mother’s return and the news that his father would soon be back as well. While Mei Zuo explained the meaning of Dao Ming Si’s problem to Aisha, Xiao Qing shifted around her chair continuously, a worried expression taking over her face. Her mind was filling with dark premonitions about the Dao Ming’s return, and she hoped with all her heart that it was not for an engagement. The fact that she had so easily and casually refused the engagement made her feel that it should have been more complicated. As Hua Ze Lei and Jing sat down with them, Xiao Qing was met with another puzzling discomfort. Hua Ze Lei displayed a sublime indifference to Jing’s presence, while Jing's eyes darted around nervously, searching for words to say. Xiao Qing remembered their conversation on the lawn last week and wondered if there was still tension between them. She also noticed that Jing had opened her mouth a few times but nothing came out at all. Adding to her discomfort, Xiao Qing even felt a hint of jealousy rising within her. Has Jing finally fallen for Hua Ze Lei? Impossible, she thought, Jing does not love him.
“Ah Si was telling us that his mum is back,” Mei Zuo said to the newcomers, “And his dad will be back soon.”
Hua Ze Lei gave Dao Ming Si an assuring smile. Jing looked at Shan Cai worriedly. No one really knew what to say or how to respond.
“Let’s order some food,” Xiao You suggested quickly, “There’s nothing we can do about it right now.”
Suddenly, Xiao Qing bounced up to her feet and pulled her mobile phone out of her pocket. “Hello? How was it? That’s great! Thankyou. Yes, I have. WHAAAAT?!” She quickly finished off the conversation and jammed the phone back into her pocket, her expression a mixture of utter anger and disbelief. Without another word, she grabbed Jing’s hand forcefully and dragged her towards the exit.
“Qing Qing!” Xi Men called after them, “What are you doing?!”
Hua Ze Lei took off immediately and ran out of the cafeteria, chasing them across the lawn. “Stop! Qing Qing, are you crazy?! Let go of Jing!”
Numerous students paused to stare after them, curious about all the drama. Xiao Qing pulled Jing all the way up to the rooftop which was secluded enough for them to have a loud and private conversation. She flung Jing’s hand away and glared up at her indignantly, her face red with anger. Even though Jing was almost a head taller than her, she showed no signs of weakness or intimidation. “MISS TENG TANG!” Xiao Qing yelled fiercely, “YOU CAN’T DO THAT! YOU CAN’T MARRY HIM! WHY ARE YOU MARRYING HIM?! YOU DON’T EVEN LOVE HIM!” Her voice diminished for a few moments as she recovered her breath. “Love is something that comes from the heart. You can’t play around with love like that. Do you know how much you will hurt everyone?” Then she exploded again. “YOU DON’T LOVE HIM! AND YOU KNOW HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU! YOU ARE JUST TOO CRUEL AND HEARTLESS!”
“QING QING!” Hua Ze Lei stepped out from behind the door to the rooftop, his voice equally as fierce. “WHAT NONSENSE ARE YOU SCREAMING ABOUT?! I WON’T TOLERATE YOU BEING SO RUDE TO JING! YOU ARE THE ONE BEING CRUEL AND HEARTLESS! SAY SORRY TO HER! NOW!”
Xiao Qing winced at his sudden aggressiveness and her anger receded, but she made no apology. Instead, she looked at him intensely and her eyes reddened. “Hua Ze Lei,” she said slowly, her voice barely audible, “You will regret those words.” She used her sleeve to wipe the tears which had fallen already, turned her back to them and disappeared.
“Lei, you shouldn’t have shouted at Qing Qing,” Jing rebuked him firmly, “She’s very hurt now.”
“Why are you feeling sympathy for her?” he asked, exasperated. “She went completely crazy at you!”
“She must have had her reasons. Maybe she knows something.”
Hua Ze Lei shook his head. “She doesn’t even know you.”
“Not many people truly know me.”
He gave her a sincere smile and apologised, “Jing, sorry about ignoring you before. I wasn’t in the mood to talk.”
She turned away miserably and looked out at the university campus. She knew it was time. “Lei, let me ask you a question. Do you still really love me?”
Hua Ze Lei frowned. “I don’t know.”
Looking as if she suddenly understood something, she tried another question. “Do you have feelings for Qing Qing?”
His eyes widened in shock. “What are you talking about? Qing Qing is my friend.”
“Don’t you even feel the slightest attraction towards her?”
Hua Ze Lei was silent.
“What about other girls?” Jing continued awkwardly, “Do you still have feelings for Shan Cai?”
“Of course not!” he retorted loudly, “Ever since I found out that she and Ah Si love each other, I gave my blessings to them.”
Jing was silent.
He looked at her and suddenly found himself completely confused. “Jing, what’s on your mind? How can you ask me these questions when you’re the one who has rejected me so many times?”
She ignored his questions and persisted with her own. “Would you love Shan Cai if she wasn’t with Ah Si?”
He hesitated for a few moments, then replied honestly, “Right now, I love Shan Cai as a sister. But I would have asked her to be my girlfriend a year ago if she didn’t fall in love with Ah Si.”
She nodded slowly and her lips curved into a forced smile. “Lei, I want you to look after Shan Cai and ask her to be your girlfriend.”
Hua Ze Lei’s mouth dropped open. “WHY?!”
After a brief period of silence, Jing turned around to face him, her gaze confident and determined. “Because I’m marrying Dao Ming Si.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Shan Cai finished her last lesson of the day and was walking towards her locker when she found Hua Ze Lei waiting for her there. She greeted him with a delightful smile but it quickly faded when she saw the pained expression on his face. “Lei, what’s the matter?” she asked worriedly, “Did Jing upset you? And where’s Qing Qing?”
He took her hand and led her away from the other students. They walked out to the fountain and sat down on a nearby bench. He continued holding her hand firmly, giving her the support he needed himself. “Shan Cai,” he began shakily, “I’ve got bad news.”
She looked at him anxiously and prepared herself for the worst.
“I know what Ah Si’s parents are doing,” he continued weakly, squeezing her hand, “His dad will arrive tomorrow. Ah Si and Jing are getting engaged.”
No words could possibly describe how Shan Cai felt at that shattering moment. Her whole body went cold and numb, and the only sound or movement she made was her heartbeat. She was only too experienced with the dominating power of the Dao Ming family, and the Teng Tang family was very close to being their equal. In an engagement between two such families, no one would care to consider a poor, low-class cake shop worker. She barely had existence in their eyes.
Hua Ze Lei waited a few minutes longer, hoping that Shan Cai would at least say something. Seeing that she made no response, he urged her desperately, “Shan Cai, you need to tell Ah Si about this as soon as possible. If I guess correctly, the engagement is taking place once his dad arrives tomorrow.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Xiao Qing sat on a swing at her local park, gazing at the white patches of clouds as they moved across the pale blue sky. It was a warm and pleasant afternoon in Taipei, yet the day’s events proved the contrary. She admired Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai so much and believed they were ambassadors of true love. How could Jing be so cruel? Has she completely forgotten their friendship? Xiao Qing watched the rays of sunset disappear behind the silhouette of the city, sinking into an expanse of pink and purple across the horizon. Today was coming to an end. No one knew what tomorrow would bring.
*FLASHBACK*
F4, the four girls and Jing were sitting together in the Ying De cafeteria eating lunch. Suddenly, Xiao Qing bounced up to her feet and pulled her mobile phone out of her pocket. “Hello?”
“Qing Qing, it’s me. About my request last week, I’ve told Mr Dao Ming that you’ve refused the engagement.”
“How was it?”
“It took a while to convince him of the reasons and he was quite irritated. He thought it was an excuse to urge him to increase our benefit in the deal. But I kept my word and told him that you refused, not me.”
“That’s great! Thankyou.”
“Qing Qing, just out of interest, have you heard of Teng Tang Jing from the Teng Tang Corporation?”
“Yes, I have.”
“Last week, on the day after your refusal, the Teng Tangs made an offer to Mr Dao Ming and he has accepted it. This lady is getting married to his son.”
“WHAAAAT?!”
*END OF FLASHBACK*
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Dao Ming Si walked into Shan Cai’s bedroom and found her sitting at the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the wall. He sat down beside her and pulled her into a tight hug. “Don’t worry about it, Shan Cai. Even mum is on our side. The three of us will face dad together tomorrow.”
“I don’t understand why Jing would do that,” Shan Cai mumbled, “The Jing I know is so loving, kind and considerate.”
“I’m very disappointed with her,” he said sadly. He brought his hand up and caressed her face gently, looking into the only pair of eyes he ever really saw. “Lei, Xi Men and Mei Zuo will come here tomorrow. Hopefully, we can talk some sense into Jing before the engagement.”
“Dao Ming Si, what is your dad like?”
“Dad’s a...good man,” he replied uneasily. He had not seen his father for three years.
Shan Cai nodded and gave him an assuring smile. “It’s late. Go back to your room and sleep.” She held his face gently placed a butterfly kiss on his cheek. “Good night.”
“Good night.”
After Dao Ming Si left, Shan Cai changed into her pyjamas and walked out onto the veranda, her expression bitter and confused. Why is it just so ironic? As she rested her hands on the cold metal railings, she felt a sharp chill along her spine. Of all women, why must it be Jing? She gazed pensively up at the night sky, seeking comfort from the most beautiful and astonishing elements of creation. There was a distinct a group of eight stars, a small cluster in the middle of the sky, which appeared particularly luminous and beautiful tonight. She smiled. “Four of them are F4,” she said to herself, “And the other four are Xiao You, Xiao Qing, Aisha and myself. We’re eight diamonds in the sky.”
Shan Cai opened the door to Dao Ming Si’s room and found that his lights were off. Without a sound, she closed the door behind her and crept over to his bed. She lifted up the blanket carefully and climbed in beside him, sliding her arms around his lovely, warm body. She needed to be there. She needed to hold him in her arms, to feel his warmth and listen to his heartbeat. It was possibly their last night together.
“Shan Cai,” he muttered softly, “Do you want to sleep here tonight?”
“If you don’t mind,” she replied, her voice barely a whisper. After a few moments of silence, Shan Cai started to cry. “I can’t take it anymore. I’m so scared. I can't breathe.”
Dao Ming Si pulled her on top of his body and wrapped his arms around her as tightly as he could, letting her sob comfortably on his shoulder. Taking a deep breath, he suppressed his own fears and comforted her with his sweet, dimpled smile. He reached a hand behind her neck and gently lifted the meteor necklace. “Shan Cai, don’t you remember? This symbolises the official beginning of our relationship and your promise to complete the nine-tenths of love you owe me.”
Tell me you love me when you leave
Then he took her hand and ran his fingers over the meteor bracelet which adorned her slender wrist so delicately and beautifully. “And this symbolises that you’re mine. I’ve tied you to me. No matter what happens, you belong to me. Always. Even if you’re not with me, I’ve taken your heart.”
You’re more than a shadow, that’s what I believe
She felt the warmth of his body becoming a part of her, his heart beating against her own, and the shape of their bodies fitting so perfectly together. Nothing could separate them. She closed her eyes, and drop by drop, tears continued falling onto his shoulders. “Dao Ming Si, I love you. I honestly love you.”
You take me to places I never thought I’d see
*FLASHBACK*
“It’s like a room in a palace!” Shan Cai exclaimed cheerfully. She quickly made her way in and pranced onto the king-sized bed, bouncing up and down like a child receiving an enormous birthday present.
Minute by minute you're the world to me
*FLASH*
“Shan Cai, I’m sorry. Don’t get upset,” he apologised, his voice gentle and affectionate. Then his mouth curved into a sweet yet teasing smile as he said, “But can’t I spend my unlimited allowance on my favourite person in the world?”
I wish I could frame the look in your eyes
*FLASH*
He looked up at her and met her eyes; they were enchanting. Their hearts began throbbing wildly and their gazes were locked unshakably for several stilled moments. Despite the many people standing around them, in their eyes, they only saw each other.
The way that I feel for you inside
*FLASH*
“I’m looking forward to EVERY year.” He wrapped his arms around her again and gave her a gentle squeeze, locking her into his life.
*END OF FLASHBACKS*
This is my moment
Dao Ming Si ran his fingers through Shan Cai's long, silky hair, savouring every inch of divine softness. He was holding an ethereal being in his arms; one so delicate and beautiful; so warm and angelic, that the thought of losing her touch was like losing his strength to breathe.
This is my perfect moment with you
“Shan Cai, no matter what happens to us tomorrow, whether you’re still by my side or not, there’s one thing that only you will ever have...and that’s my love.”
Shan Cai slid her arms around his neck and kissed him gently on his lips. Only she could lie on top of him all night. Only she could hold him so closely and tightly in her arms. Only she could take his hand and tell the world that she loves him. Only she could hug him and kiss him whenever she wanted.
Only she would ever be loved by Dao Ming Si.
