This morning I received a call from Bosco. I felt quite surprised, more like angry at first…
**Flashback**
Ring Ring. Leila heard her cell phone go off. She groaned angrily, “Who is calling at this time!” She tried to ignore it, but it continued to ring. She rolled herself out of bed, and walked over to grab her phone off her desk. She flipped it open and answered, “Hello, this is Leila speaking.”
“Hey Leila,.it’s Bosco.”
Leila completely woke up, “Oh hey, what’s up?”
“Uh, do you have sometime right now? Could you come over to my apartment.”
“Yeah, sure. Give me 10 minutes and I’ll be there.”
Leila jumped to the bathroom and got changed. She walked over to Bosco’s apartment, before she could ring the doorbell, the door had already opened.
“Hey, come in, I have something to give you.”
She looked at Bosco excitedly, “You have something for me?” she asked.
Bosco handed her a movie box. She gave him a confused look. Bosco quickly explained, “I’m thinking it’s time to give Myolie and Raymond a chance to spend some time alone. I’m hoping this will make them closer.”
“Oh, I see…are you sure it’s going to work?” Leila asked
“I know Myo, she’ll be sitting on top of Raymond if she watches this movie. All we have to do is make sure Raymond goes over.” Bosco said surely.
Leila thought for a bit, “Don’t worry I’ve got that covered. I already have a plan…” She pulled out her cell phone, “Hey Ray, this is Leila, I think there’s something wrong with one of the faucet over at my apartment. Do you think you could come over and take a look at it sometime today?”
“Sure, I’ll come take a look at it for you, but I can’t do it right now. It’ll have to be sometime after 6.”
“That’s perfect.”
“Huh, what did you just say, I couldn’t really hear you.”
“I said 6 is fine.” Leila finished and hung up. She gave Bosco a wink signaling it was a success.
They continued discussing their plan and Leila snuck back over to her apartment and placed the disk into the DVD player. Around 5:45, Leila instructed Myolie to watch the movie because in her opinion it was great. Myolie agreed and Leila was out the door. She went back over to Bosco to wait for Raymond to arrive.
They took turns looking through the peep hole, “Let me take a look.” Leila pulled on Bosco’s arm. He moved out of the way and made way for Leila, but minutes later Bosco stood behind Leila, pushed her head down, and leaned forward to look, “My turn now.”
“Hey!” Leila protested. She pushed her way back up almost hitting Bosco’s chin.
Promptly after 6, Raymond arrived, “He’s here!” Leila shrieked. They watched making sure Raymond had gone in.
“Looks like our plan is working” Bosco gave Leila a high five.
After 15 to 20 minutes had passed, Raymond didn’t come out, so they were sure Myolie had asked Raymond to stay and watch the movie.
Leila’s stomach grumbled. “Do you want to go have dinner?” Bosco asked. Leila nodded eagerly. They headed downstairs, and as they were getting in Bosco’s car, he asked, “Where do you want to go eat?”
Leila started thinking of the possible places, but her thoughts were interrupted by Bosco. “I know a great place we can eat at,” he exclaimed, “unless there’s a place you wanted to go.”
“No, I don’t really care, just as long as we hurry. I’m starving.”

“Hi, how many?”
“Just the two of us.” Bosco answered.
“Okay, right this way.” Leila and Bosco got seated and the hostess handed each of them a menu, “Your waitress will be with you shortly.
“I guess I should have asked earlier, I hope you like Italian…”
“I’ll eat pretty much anything, and Italian happens to be one of my favorite.”
“Mine too, but Myo doesn’t like it so much, so I don’t come here often. It’s no fun eating alone.” Leila nodded in agreement.
“Hi, my name is Fiona, I’ll be your server tonight. Can I get you guys something to drink?”
“Do you want some wine?” Bosco asked.
“Sure, it seems right for the atmosphere, I don’t see why not.”
“and do you need some more time to look over the menu or do you know what you want.”
“What are your specials tonight?” Bosco asked.
Fiona listed the special as well as telling what they were. Bosco and Leila ordered what they wanted. “Also, tonight we’re having a cutest couple contest. Would you two like to enter?”
“Is there a prize?” Leila asked.
“Yes, the grand prize is this dinner will be free as well as a cash prize of $10, 000 HK.”
“Are there any rule or regulations? Do we need to do anything?” Bosco asked.
“Nope, all I have to do is take your picture together. The picture will be judged by the owner and our top chef. So would you like to enter?”
“Sure, sign us up.” Bosco said with a smile.
“But…” Leila began.
“Okay, if you could move in closer so I can take your picture…okay now lean in some more. Perfect.” She pressed the button of the Polaroid camera and the picture came out. “The winner will be announced at 8:30”
They thanked the waitress and she left.
“Why did you…”
“There’s no harm. If we’re lucky we might win and get this meal for free.”
“You are so cheap.”
“Fine, say what you want, but don’t expect me to share that cash award with you if we win.”
“You wish.”
They continued to joke and talk. As they we’re finishing up their dessert, all the lights went out above all the other tables except theirs.”
“Congratulations” they heard Fiona say. “You’ve won the cutest couple award.” Fiona presented them with the picture they took earlier in a heart shape picture frame, with the words cutest couple on the top.
“It was really hard to choose the cutest couple, we had many here tonight, but that couple deserved to win. I noticed the two of them with the most chemistry, no other couple in here had it. The way she would hit him playfully, the way the laughed, the way they looked at each other. They’re not just cute, but loving too.” The owner declared.

“I can’t believe we actually won.” Leila said as she bounced up and down.
“Hey, easy on my car here. I don’t think it can support your weight as is.”
“Hey are you saying that I’m heavy?”
“Wah, by the amount you ate at dinner…good thing the meal was free.”
“Thanks to me.”
“You?”
“Of course, it was my cuteness that won.”
“Yeah right, the credit goes to me.”
“Stop the car!” Leila shouted. “Hump!”
“Okay, I’m sorry.” Bosco apologized.
Leila ignored him.
“I already said I was sorry. What more do you want?”
“Fine, I’ll let you make it up. I want red bean soup right now.”
“But we just ate.”
Leila glared at him, “Well are you going to get it or not.”
“Fine, fine, I’ll get the red bean soup. I guess I could get some for Myo and Ray too. They should be done with the movie when we get back.”
**End of Flashback**
I had a really good time tonight. Leila stopped writing and walked over to her bag. She pulled out the picture frame. She smiled looking at it. She set it on her desk.
“Cutest couple…” she repeated to herself before turning out the light and going to sleep.
