“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you still be in New York? I thought you said you wouldn’t be back until tomorrow night.” Myolie questioned.
“I wasn’t supposed to get back until then, but I missed you so much. So I took the first flight I could the minute the conference was over.”
Myolie threw her arms around Raymond’s neck and hugged him, “I missed you too.” Then she let go, “Why did you call me to pick you up?”
“I wanted to give you a surprise”
Her smile grew even wider, “You’re so silly. You must be really tired.”
Raymond nodded, “Mm-hm, and hungry too.” He rubbed his stomach, “Do you have anything I can eat? They didn’t feed me on the plane”
“Awww…poor thing, well I’m cooking dinner right now. I’ll tell you what, why don’t you go into my room and take a nap right now. And I’ll wake you up when it’s ready.”
Raymond nodded and headed to Myolie’s room. Once he was inside he took of his jacket and placed it over Myolie’s chair. He sat on Myolie’s bed, took off his shoes and got in under the covers. It was soft and comfortable, he could fall asleep that moment.
Raymond closed his eyes and tried to sleep. However, he just didn’t seem tired anymore. He rolled over and placed his head deeper into Myolie’s pillow. It had that special aroma. The scent of Myolie’s hair flowed from the pillow to Raymond’s nose. Raymond got up and exited the room quietly.
Myolie stood at the sink washing some vegetables. Suddenly she felt someone slip their arm around her waist.
Her first instinct was to jab the person in the stomach and grab a knife to defend herself. Luckily she knew better, of course the person was Raymond. She knew it was him just by the secure feeling of being in his arms.
“Why aren’t you sleeping? I thought you said you were tired.”
“I was, but I couldn’t sleep?”
“And why might that be?”
He tightened his arms around her, “I kept thinking about you.”
“Really?” A playful smile appeared on Myolie’s face.
Raymond sniffed Myolie’s hair, “The smell of your pillow woke me up and magically brought me out here,”
“Wow, I never my hair had magical powers…do you think you could tell me what else it does?” Myolie joked.
“I missed you.” Raymond told her.
“I know, you already told me that, and I told you I missed you too.”
“You don’t understand Myo, I felt miserable all last week not being able to see you.”
“Stop exaggerating.”
Raymond turned her around so she was now facing him. He still kept his arms around her waist, “I’m not exaggerating. I just wanted you to know I love you.”
“I know la, now you have to let go so I can finish making dinner or else I don’t know when we’ll get to eat.” She pushed Raymond out of the kitchen. “Go sit on the couch and watch some television.”
“I want to help you…”
“You’ll only get in my way…I promise it’ll be ready soon.”
Raymond nodded sadly, “Okay.”
Myolie walked back into the kitchen. Myolie was still in shock from hearing those three words from Raymond. Sure she had missed him too, but love is such a strong word. Was she at that point yet? Were they going too fast? They had only been together for slightly over a month and a half…

Myolie came out from the kitchen to tell Raymond that dinner was ready, but he was asleep on the couch.
Myolie couldn’t help but smile and shake her head. She went to her room to grab a blanket to cover him.
She liked Raymond a lot, but there was something not quite right, yet. Perhaps Fung still occupied a part of her heart…

It had been a week since Bosco saw Leila and Samuel at the restaurant together. During the past week he couldn’t help but keep thinking about Leila. That wasn’t all he thought about. He mind was constantly replaying scenes of his life. He would remember all the times he spent with Nancy, growing up with Stephy, but during each memory Leila would pop up in his mind…He missed arguing with her, he missed he violent-ness, and he missed her smile.
Bosco walked over and stood on the balcony in his living room. Looking down he saw Leila getting out of Samuel’s car. It was the sixth night in a row he’d observe Samuel driving her home.
Bosco went back inside and sat on his couch. He couldn’t help but wonder, “Are they going out now? Perhaps, I’m too late.”
He had now figured out what he had been feeling each time he saw Leila and Samuel together…
