Chapter 33

Funny Dates

After their one year anniversary, the couples were doing very well, and perhaps it’s as they say, time flies when you are having fun. With a blink on an eye, half the year had passed already.

Bosco and Leila were holding hands walking through the crowded mall on this Friday night. They were just doing some window shopping at the moment. Then Leila pulled Bosco towards the pet store.

“Look at those fishes!” Leila exclaimed, “They’re so cute.”

Bosco nodded, “I like the blue-ish one.”

“I like the purple-ish one.” Leila said as she pointed to the swimming fish.

“Let’s buy one.” Bosco said.

“Only one?” Leila pouted, “I think they’re a couple, I don’t want to break them up.”

“We can get them both if you’d like. Anything that makes you happy makes me happy.”

“But where should we keep them? Your place or mine?” Leila asked.

“I don’t think it would matter so much, if we kept it at my place it would only give you an excuse to come see me more and vice versa.”

“Ha, who ever said I want to see you more.”

Bosco went and stood on the opposite side of the fish tank. He squat down so that he was looking through the glass tank and could see Leila on the other side. And in a high pitched child’s like voice he said, “Leila Mommy, Bosco Daddy thinks you should buy us home.”

Leila played along with him, “I’m sorry little fishies, as cute as you guys are, I’m not your mommy.”

“Awww…but will you buy us anyways” Bosco continued.

“Nope, I don’t think I can. Maybe you could ask your Bosco Daddy over there and see if he’ll buy you guys.”

“Bosco daddy says that he’ll only buy us if you agree to move in with him to help take care of us.”

Leila stood there speechless. Bosco walked back over to her side. He took her hands into his, “What do you say? Will you move in with me?”

Leila thought quickly, “Wai, trying to use the fishies as excuse to make me move in with you ah?”

“Well will you? Come on, do it for the fishies, you don’t want them to be lonely and not taken care of do you?”

Leila thought about it for a while, “Okay, but I’m only doing it for the fishies, you know how careless you can be, what if you for get to feed them. I don’t want my babies to starve to death.”

Bosco grinned widely and hugged Leila.

Raymond and Myolie arrived back at Myolie’s apartment after groceries shopping. They decided they were going to cook together and stay in for the night. They set the bags down on the dining room table.

“Hmmm…where did this pineapple come from?” Myolie asked as she noticed a pineapple on the table.

Raymond picked up the note under the pineapple, “To Myo and Ray, Leila and I went shopping and decided to get you guys a pineapple. Hope you guys enjoy it. Love Bosco and Leila.”

Myolie chuckled, “How random is that, they just decided to get us a pineapple?”

“Hai, you know those two, they were probably thinking of something crazy or got some dirty thoughts about pineapple and figured it’d be funny to give it to us.”

“I don’t know what kind of dirty thoughts you can get with pineapples, but I’m going to go cook dinner.”

“What about the pineapple then?” Raymond asked.

“I guess we could cut it up after dinner.”

Myolie finished cooking dinner and brought the plates out.

“Mmm…it smells so good.” Raymond complimented as he put a piece of food in his mouth, “and it taste just as good.” Then picking up another pick with his chopstick he held it to Myolie’s mouth, “open up.”

Myolie shook her head and smiled, “I’m not a kid, I don’t need to be fed.”

“Of course you do la.” Raymond began moving his chopsticks around pretending it was an airplane, “Come on, come on.”

Myolie couldn’t help but give in and open up. Raymond put the food in her mouth, “Now that’s a good girl.”

Myolie followed Raymond’s lead and also picked up a pick of food and fed him. Soon they were feeding each other just the same way they had on the night of the magic show. It sure brought back good memories.

Myolie finished washing the dishes and Raymond carried the pineapple into the kitchen, “So should we tackle the pineapple now?”

“I guess so.” Myolie said so Raymond handed it to her, “Wai, I thought you were going to cut it up.”

“I don’t know how to.”

“Well don’t look at me, I don’t know how to either. I usually buy canned pineapples or my mommy cuts it for me.”

They sat the pineapple on the counter and stared at it, “You do it la,” Myolie said.

“Why me?”

“Well I cooked dinner, so I think you should do it.”

“Hey, I helped cook too.”

“Well you’re a neurologist.”

“What’s that got to do with anything?”

“Well that means you do surgery all the time and you should be good with a knife. Just think of this as a surgery. The pineapple is your patient and its life is depending on you.”

“Well you do surgeries too.”

“It’s not the same, I work with eyes, which are much smaller, they’re this big.” Myolie held her thumb and index finger together forming a circle to indicate the small size.

Raymond finally gave in, “Okay la, I’ll do it.”

“Yay! I’ll be your assistant, doctor.”

Raymond and Myolie had a fun time cutting the pineapple up. It was quite a laugh for the both of them.

Leila and Bosco came home and saw Myolie sitting on the couch watching TV.

“Hey, you guys home already?” Myolie asked.

“Yeah, where’s Raymond?” Bosco asked as he took a seat on the couch across from Myolie.

“He just left.”

“Myo, I have some bad news for you.” Bosco said very seriously.

“What is it? Is it my heart?” Myolie asked worriedly.

Bosco shook his head, “No, I have to take something away from you.”

“Like what?” She asked suspiciously.

“I’m taking Leila away.” Bosco said and Myolie gave him a confused look, “Leila’s agreed to move in with me.” He smiled

Myolie shook her finger at them, “You two…planning to be naughty huh?”

Leila blushed, “I’m going to my room now.”

Myolie giggled, “Yup, you better hurry Leila. You need to start packing and moving over.”

“Myolie!” Leila whined and went into her room.

“Are you mad at me?” Bosco asked Myolie.

“Why should I be?”

“I’m taking away your roommate.”

“Of course I’m not mad, I’m happy for you guys.”

“You sure you won’t be lonely? I know that’s why you got a roommate in the first place.”

“That was before I had Raymond.”

“Ah, I see la. Do you want me to ask him to move in with you to keep you company?” Bosco joked.

“No, I’ll be fine alone.” Myolie reassured him.

“You positive?”

“Yes, and listen, I’m glad you’ve moved on. I know you love Leila a lot.”

Bosco nodded, but he gave her an unsure smile.

As Bosco’s best friend, Myolie knew something was wrong with him, but she also knew she shouldn’t push into it. She was sure he knew what he was doing. He loved Leila, if he didn’t he wouldn’t have asked her to move in with him. Myolie knew he was serious with relationships.

So Bosco and Leila are taking their relationship to another level...will this be a good thing? Probably not seeing how I’m planning to start their twists and turns in the next few chapters.
