INTO THE STORY WE GO....(pretending to make sound effects)

Do you ever feel lonely, abandoned or neglected? Have you ever thought of ending your life for it really is a nightmare? Have you ever blamed everything that happened on yourself? He lived in solitude in his very big place he called his sanctuary. He needed no one because he couldn’t trust them. They say he needed help, yet he refused. He saw himself as the night sky with those few tiny stars and a whole lot of darkness. He would laugh at those who think of him as a great person. He had the money, the looks and of course the intelligence, yet because he lacked trust those who came near him only parted further.

How did he become so lonely, abandoned and neglected?
When he turned 18 his father sent him to Europe to study business, when he came back after 6 years his father died. His mother ran off with another man and left him alone. In his father’s will, he received everything. Even though there were many people who liked him, he would ignore them. Now he lives alone with all the money and the business, the way he likes it.

That was who he really was. He may seem like this nice, flirtatious guy on the outside, but none of his girlfriends were capable of neither capturing his heart nor entering his mansion. The people who worked for him praised him of his great work ethics and abilities yet they too have never been to his place. Some even say he lived in the company, seeing how late he works until.

His name attracted the attention of many girls, for with his name came his money. That was one of the reasons why he never truly fell in love, for he was afraid that the love was all for his money and really not for him. He wanted to leave this place and go off, and leave everything behind…He considered death as one of the solution yet he realized there was just too many things out there that he had not yet experienced and the main one was love.

When he was younger his parents were too busy with the business to ever take care of him. He would have a new nanny every few months so he never really got to know them either. His cousins were all stuck up spoiled kids who only cared about their newest toy or gadget and his other relatives…all they wanted was money. No one cared for him, nor loved him.

He wanted to truly love someone yet he had built a wall so high around his heart that it was hard for that someone to get in…

Her life was perfect. She had caring parents, money and a fantastic education. She cherished each moment that she had cause she believed once it’s gone you can never get it back. She would be considered your typical rich and optimistic person who every guy would like to marry and every woman would like to be. Yet she was still single and of course there was always a reason why she is still single.

~Flashback~

Girl: Why are you sitting all alone?

Boy: Cause I want to.
She made a funny face which made him laugh.

Girl: Come let’s take a walk.

Boy: Do I have to?

She grabbed his hand. As they ran off another girl stuck out her foot and tripped her.

Boy: Why did you do that?

Other girl: Cause.

Boy: Why?

Other Girl: Cause you’re mine and not hers.

Boy: Well then we’re through.

Other Girl: So you like her and not me?

The boy ran over to the girl who was now sobbing because she had scraped her knee. He took out a band-aid and gently placed it on her scrape.

Boy: Don’t worry it looks fine.

Girl: But how can I ever where skirts or dresses?

Boy: You can if you want to…and besides your pretty face can cover up any scar. (He smiled at her) Anyways I should be getting back now…tomorrow I’m flying to Europe.

Girl: So does that mean I’ll never see you again?

Boy: I don’t know. (He helped her up, gave her a peck on the cheek and ran off) Bye!

~End of Flashback~

From that moment on she wished to see him, it’s been 8 years now and until this day she still waits for him. They were friends, nothing more, nothing less. She knew nothing about him other than the fact that he didn’t get along with anyone and that many girls liked him. He was probably rich but she wasn’t so sure, cause she barely knew him, yet she fell for him. His smile melted her heart, and the sight of him brightens up her day. She would smile at the thought of him.

Have you ever seen the one you love suffer? Have you seen her smile but that smile-lacked happiness? His sister was an optimist full with spirit; she was smart, intelligent and elegant. Growing up in a wealthy family, Raymond and his sister were very close. He knew who would go after her and of course knew whom she liked. Ever since high school he knew that his sister had fallen for one of his friends. This friend of his was quite an unusual guy, in fact he was so unusual and mysterious that half of the girls who went to that school fell for him. Raymond on the other hand was this extremely flirtatious guy who girls loved as well, but just never took him too seriously. He felt sorry for his sister when the guy she loved had to go to away and from that moment on she never seem to be interested in any other guy.

Raymond was the type of guy you can call your best bud. He’d be there when you need him and put a smile on your face. He’s a great brother and of course with his charm and charisma girls swoon at the sight of him. He liked that, the feeling of being THE ONE. But overall he was the nice guy with money, intelligence and good looks, nothing can go wrong in his life. Nothing…but the fact that he can’t see using his left eye. He wasn’t born with an eye that can’t see but what happened was an accident.

~Flashback~

Raymond: Prof! Do I really need to wear these ugly things?

Professor: Come on, they’ll protect you from the chemicals that might cause harm to your eyes.

Raymond: What’s the point. Like, come on, this probably has never happened to anyone before.

Professor: Come on Mr. Lam, everyone else is wearing them, so should you.

Raymond continued to ignore the instruction and performed his lab as told. But due to an inaccuracy in calculation, he had put too much of that chemical into his test-tube, causing an explosion. He quickly turned around but the chemical went into his eye and from that point on, that eye was basically useless.

~End of flashback~

Now, there was no stubborn Raymond, but a Raymond that cared and was very cautious. Unable to see the true beauty of this world with both eyes, he cherished everything he had. He was the heir to the family business and was responsible for everything that went on in the company.

She closed her eyes and imagined him wrapping his arms around her waist and whispering “Honey, be mine” She had let out a small giggle, which caught the attention of everyone around her. It wasn’t her fault that her boss was so darn good looking, or that he never even gave her a single glance. No, it wasn’t her fault at all. It was his. It was his fault for not paying any attention to her and his fault for picking the other girls instead of her. But still she loved him, she loved his mysterious ways, and that smile that revealed his dimple that he tries to hide away. She loved the tone of his voice that would yell at her for making those tiny little typos. And most importantly she loved his every action.

She didn’t ask for much at all. Actually she only worked for him because her father told her too. Her father told her that she should work her way up like he did. Her father and Ron’s father were the co-founders of company and supposedly she was told that she had an arranged marriage with Ron. “Dream come true”…. as she drifted back into her very lovely place, someone came over to her desk. When she looked up to her amazement it was he. Her eyes shone brightly like a million stars as she looked up to see he was there towering over her.

She only wished that what he would say were more on the lines of “ I love you” rather than, “I pay you to work, not dream”.

She was young, pretty and of course quite smart to be able to be hired by Ron in the first place. She worked as his secretary only cause she wanted to see him every single morning and of course sit beside him during every meeting. Sitting beside him always made her feel like she was also the boss or at least married to the boss. This made a smile creep up on her face unintentionally as he was still standing there watching over her. She looked up at him and smiled but he did not return one to her. From a far someone had called out her name and when she stood up to take a look it was her dad.

Sek Sau: Honey, it’s lunchtime, how about you and Ron go get something to eat.

Ron: That’s no need sir I’m not hungry.

Sek Sau: But my daughter here needs to eat, Ron do me a favor take her out for lunch.

Ron: Sure.

Once again that smile that disappeared because Ron did not smile back reappeared on her face knowing that her dad had set everything up. As she left with Ron her dad gave her a wink and walked off into his office.

*In this chapter I revealed two of the characters...in the next I will reveal the other 2. Don't you worry. All of their lives seems to be a bit more complicated and complexed than you probably thought they were. Maybe because my goal for this fanfic is to create that more serious tone...along with a some comedy.

So I truly hoped that you enjoyed reading the first chapter.
