“Mummy! Mummy!” a little 6 year old boy yells out to his mother who was just walking towards the school's entrance gates.
“Akira-kun! Don't run away! Stay and wait for your mother here!” his sensei (teacher) calls out to the excited running little boy.
“Mummy! Mummy!” Akira continues to yell out as he runs towards the school gates where his mother had just walked through.
“Akira!” his mother puts her hands out as her son runs up to her for a hug. “Akira, why did you run away from your sensei?” She asks her son as they were walking back towards Akira's sensei.
“Because I miss mummy!” Akira gives a big irresistible smile to his mother.
“Akira-kun, I told you to wait for your mother here like the rest of the children!” the sensei kindly scolded Akira, who hid behind his mother. “I'm sorry Ms Horikita-san, Akira-kun just ran off when he saw you coming towards the school,” the sensei sighed and looked at the hiding little boy.
“That's quite alright Sensei, I'll be sure to tell him to listen to you next time. How was his first day of school?” Ms Horikita asked sensei.
“You have a quite a very curious boy here, he doesn't hesitate to ask questions entering his mind even if they are irrelevant to the class topic,” sensei comments on Akira's behaviour on his first day of starting school.
“Oh, I hope he isn't too much trouble for you then?"
“Oh no, your boy may grow up to be a genius! I must say though, you looked quite young to be a mother for a six year old child. I was shocked when I heard him calling out for you and saw that you were the one who gave him a hug. I honestly thought the lady behind you was Akira-kun's mother,”
Ms Horikita gave out a slight laugh, “Oh yeah, I get that a lot,”
“If you don't mind me asking, how old were you when you gave birth to Akira-kun?” the sensei just had to ask.
“Hmm, no I don't mind at all. I was 17 years old when I gave birth to my Akira, now before you go judging I have to say that my Akira is the best thing that has ever happened in to me,” Ms Horikita answered.
“Oh no, I was just plainly curious. I'm sorry I asked,” Sensei replied
“That's alright, I'll see you tomorrow then. Akira honey let's go home?” Ms Horikita held Akira's hand in hers, “What do you say to your teacher?”
Akira thought for awhile and then replied with a slight shrug. “I don't know mummy,” he replies honestly.
“Arigatou sensei,” his mother says crouching down to look at Akira at eye level.
“Oh, hai mummy! Sensei?” Akira calls for his teacher's attention.
“Yes, what is it Akira-kun?”
“Arigatou sensei!” he repeats his mothers words and once again shows his irresistible smile.
“Ne, that's okay Akira-kun. I'll see you tomorrow,” the sensei smiles back.
Ms Horikita and Akira walk out of the school and head towards the school car parking lot. Ms Horikita opens the front passenger door and Akira hops in and puts his seatbelt on like a good little boy. Ms Horikita closes Akira's door and makes her way to the drivers seat and puts her seatbelt on. Suddenly her mobile phone vibrates from her jacket pocket. She reaches down inside her pocket and answers the call.
“Moshi moshi?”
“MAKI!!!!!” the voice on the other end screeches out. Maki slightly pulls her phone away from her ears.
“Doo shimashita ka? (What's wrong?)”
“Meet me at the cafe in 20 minutes! We HAVE to talk! Ja!” The person on the other end hung up before Maki could reply. Maki sighs, closes her phone and places it back inside her pocket.
“Mummy, was that Aunty Mao?” Akira looks at his mother
“Hai, how did you know?” Maki asks her son
“I heard her screaming your name out on the phone,” he laughed
“Oh, Aunty Mao sure is loud ne?” Maki laughed along with her son.
Maki starts the car engine and drives towards the cafe they always meet at, whenever one would need to talk or just need a break from things in daily life.
“Are we going to the cafe mummy?” Akira looks out the window and sees the familiar road towards the cafe.
“Hai, you remember the road already?” Maki looks at her son thinking that she brings him here to often and might not be good for his own good. Akira nods and continues to stare out the window.
Maki wonders if he got this from his father's side as she was certain she really wasn't the silent, remember and thinking type. However, Akira's loud and bubbly side she was sure that was from her. She can't recall exactly what his father looked like, she had only seen him twice throughout her whole life. He had to be good looking though, otherwise Maki wouldn't have been with him in the first place. Maki was a girl with some taste, at least that's what she believes in. Akira didn't look a thing like Maki, besides his big brown alluring and glowing eyes.
“We're here Akira,” Maki turns off the car engine and gets out of the car. She opens the door for Akira and he gets out of the car. They both enter the familiar scenery and atmosphere of the cafe where they saw Mao waving frantically at them where she was seated at their favourite spot right next to the window.
“Maki! Akira! Over here!”
“We know where you are Aunty Mao, we saw you when we came in,” Akira points out
“Besides, we always sit here,” Maki adds
“Hmph, smart mouths,” Mao crosses her arms in front of her chest but suddenly slams them onto the table startling Akira, Maki and Meisa he waitress who was taking down their order. “Maki! Guess what?”
“The usual please Meisa,” Maki continues to order. “What is it Mao?”
“Our college batch reunion party is coming up! I've got the invitations right here,” Mao takes out 2 fancy envelopes with one addressed to Horikita Maki and the other to Inoue Mao. Maki immediately opens the envelope and skims through the invitation.
“Do you think I would be able to bring my Akira?” Maki looks up from the invitation and looks at her son who was busily eating the hamburger he had ordered.
“Maki, they WANT you to bring Akira. Remember they all knew you were pregnant, I mean it was hard to hide a huge bulging stomach,” Mao laughs as she recalls the days when Maki was still pregnant and at school.
“Oh great Mao, don't remind me,” Maki shakes those horrifying and painful memories of the days she was waddling around school.
“So are you coming or are you coming?
“Do I have a choice?”
“Not really, I'll even drag you and Akira there if I have to,” Mao threatens them
“Fine, I'll go. It would be nice to catch up with our old party friends,” Maki gives in to Mao's threat
“Great!” Mao looks at Akira -who had just stuffed the renaming portion of his burger into his mouth- in disgust.
“What?” Akira tries to speak with his mouth full.

AN: I live in Australia (but I'm asian XD), which would explain why I spell “mummy” like this. Just thought I should clear this up. It does look kinda messed up, but then again, that's English for you right? XD
I hope it doesn't seem too scriptive?
Comments? Nyahaha. ^^
