Chapter 1

Baby Sister's Homecoming ♥

Chapter One: baby sister's homecoming

Her fairly long black ebony hair, her red luscious lips, and her pair of dark brown mesmerizing eyes could never be replaced. Sure, she wasn't the number one beauty of the world, but she had a look of serenity, a look of innocence, and a look of undying youth that had kept his heart nailed in infatuation of her incomparable beauty. Her gestures suggested a warm lively personality and her laughs held all potential of taking over his world. Although, she may not hold much of an attraction to others, she had become a huge part of his past. She was the girl that had him struck in awe by her uniqueness.

While he was surrounded by numerous young girls that were willing to throw themselves into his arms, she had never even given him a glance. While he was praised and admired for his talents, she had never even spoken a word to him. She never gave him a speck of her attention at all. It was like his presence was non-existent to her. Her behavior toward him caught his attention. Gradually, an interest for her grew in his heart. Bosco Wong became her secret admirer, bearing her his utmost respect.

Shit, why am I thinking about her again? Bosco Wong shook his head, finding it odd. It had been awhile since his last thoughts of her. He thought she disappeared from his mind a long time ago. But apparently, that wasn't true. "What the hell is taking that bastard so long?" Bosco spoke out loud, staring out of the window of his new Nissan Z sports car.

His buddy, Raymond Lam, said that he was in urge to use the restroom on their way to the airport, and told Bosco to pull over so that he could use the public restroom in the park.

In a few moments, a young man of about the age twenty-five could be seen running back. He approached Bosco's Nissan Z sports car and got in it. "Phew. Sorry about that," he said, panting.

"Ew! Did you even wash your hands? Don't contaminate my precious Kelly," said Bosco in disgust. "It's new, okay?"

Raymond laughed, rolling his eyes at Bosco's comment. "Please. Of course I have. And Kelly? Who the hell names their car Kelly?"

"I do," Bosco said with pride, eyes beaming with the love for Kelly. "And you haven't heard of the rest yet... My motorcycle name is Tammy, my yacht Angel, my..."

"I get it, I get it," Raymond interrupted in a dull tone, knowing that his friend was in for a long list of names that he had continuously heard for the past months of his life. "Please, can we just go now? Don't make my sister wait at the airport."

"Well, we would have been there already if it wasn't for you." Bosco pointed out. After a few moments, he asked, "So what's your sister like? Is she hot?"

Raymond thought for a moment, as though he had forgotten how his sister looked like. "Um well, I wouldn't say she's hot, but she is quite cute."

"Just another way to say she's ugly," Bosco said quickly, pretending to understand. "I know your pain, man. Having an ugly duckling as a sister. It's a shame. I know."

Raymond laughed, and shrugged. "Well you know, the last time I saw her, she wasn't that bad. But who knows, as the saying goes, the more you age, the uglier you get."

Raymond had a bizarre relationship with his sister. At the age of five, his father sent his mother overseas while she was pregnant. Raymond was too young to know what was going on, so he didn't protest. His mother had to suffer outside while Raymond lived in abundunce of wealth with his father. Occasionally, he would ask his father where his mother was, but his father would only reply with a grunt and told him to shut up and never speak of her again. He kept asking until he knew that it was useless and stopped. It was only when he reached 18 did his father allow him to fly overseas to visit his mother. It was awkward, but after awhile, they got used to it. He finally met his younger sister, who didn't seem too fond of him at that time.

"Why is she coming here for?" Bosco asked.

"Mom passed away like two months ago," Raymond said. Although, he wasn't close to his mother, he still felt the pain of losing someone he loved. There was a moment of silence before he continued. "I don't know why, but after hearing the news, my dad got depressed about it. A month later, he began to regret, and wanted to take his daughter home. At first, my sister refused, saying that she hated us, but after much persuasion, she finally agreed. I don't know what's gotten into her. Knowing her, she'd fight for what she wants till the end. But whatever. If it makes my old man happy, then I guess it's not that bad that she returns home."

"Seems like she has a hidden agenda," Bosco commented, making a turn. "She hates you and your old man with her life. Doesn't it sound fishy that she's coming back? Even an idiot can see that there's something wrong."

Raymond rolled his eyes, finding the remark offensive. "It's just because you haven't seen my sister. She seems so innocent. She's not that type with something up her sleeves, you know. Although, I may add, she's a bit feisty and bitchy at times."

Bosco shivered at the thought of having a rowdy pet in his house, roaming around and knocking things down--of course, an exaggerated image of Raymond's account of his sister. "Sounds like there will be frequent earthquakes from now on. Thank God, I don't live in your house."

"Well, I'm glad you persuaded me to move," Raymond said as he turned and sent Bosco a grateful look. "What will I do without you, Bosco?" He said with a smile.

"Ew," Bosco said, slapping Raymond's face away. "Sorry, I'm taken."

"Whatever," Raymond said. "A playboy like you can never settle down with a girlfriend, let alone, wife."

Images of Bosco's secret love flashed in his mind. Damn, he thought. Everything about her remained clear as crystal in his head. There was no way he could forget her. Fortunately, he never told Raymond about it. Else, he'd live in his friend's teases.

"So tell me, does it ever cross your mind to settle down?" Raymond asked.

"Why are you asking? Yes or no, I still won't date you," Bosco chuckled.

"Stop joking. I was never interested in men," Raymond rolled his eyes and declared.

"Oh yea? How come you act gay?" Bosco asked, laughing louder.

"Say another word and I'll spit at your precious Kelly," Raymond threatened.

"Okay, okay," Bosco resigned. The thought of Kelly being abused in any sort of way sent him raging. Raymond chuckled at the look on his friend's face, knowing that Kelly was his weakness.

Shortly, they arrived at the airport. Luckily, it wasn't as crowded as they imagined it.

"Why isn't your sister coming out yet?" Bosco asked impatiently after what seemed like half an hour.

"Just wait and stop whining." Raymond was starting to get irritated, both at Bosco and at his sister's late arrival.

"Are you sure we're at the right place? Wasn't the plane off like ten minutes ago? At this rate, we'll be here until we're seventy."

"Just do me a favor and shut up."

Another five minutes ticked by and by now, everyone who took the flight had been cleared of "Terminal X40". Around, families united in small groups and loud chattering insinuated the elated atmosphere.

Raymond and Bosco weren't so elated of course. They weren't the most patient men on earth. Both came from rich backgrounds with cash flowing into their bank accounts like a flowing lava, they were accommodated by everyone and everything all their lives. Amenities begged to be at their service. Women and men alike, begged to serve them. Waiting was simply a foreign word for them.

"Oh, there she is!" Raymond exclaimed.

Bosco watched as Raymond pointed to a short woman who was pushing a cart full of luggage. She was wearing a white oversized t-shirt that covered her curves (if she had any at all) and a pair of black baggy pants that looked horrible on her, if you ask Bosco. Her yellow cap blocked Bosco from viewing her whole face, and he could only see her mouth, plain without a sign of gloss or lipstick. Ugly is right, Bosco thought to himself. She looks like a man! He looked away to ease his eyes from the pain. Now, he even felt more pitiful for his friend. He chuckled.

"Leila," Raymond called to his sister.

She didn't respond. Not only was she ugly, she was rude too. Bosco pretended to shiver.

"My friend, Bosco Wong, and I came here to pick you up," Raymond told the silent figure. "Come."

Leila followed Raymond and Bosco as they led the way to the car. None of them spoke a word. "Pst, she's weird," Bosco whispered to Raymond as they were walking behind her. "She's ugly, rude, and her personality sucks." He tried to hold his laugh, but Raymond's stern look told him to shut up.

"Well, didn't I tell you she does not like me?" Raymond said. "So it's not a surprise how she's acting right now."

"Still, seeing a handsome guy like me, she should at least acknowledge me, but no, she didn't even greet me. Now she acts like we're her servants or something!" Bosco said.

"Why, feeling hurt huh?" Raymond chuckled at his friend's disatisfaction. He knew that Bosco was never used to such treatment, especially from girls.

"No. I just think she acts like a man," Bosco commented. His face suddenly turned pale as he watched Leila trying to break open his car. "Oh god!" He screamed, and ran over to Leila. "No, no! Don't do that. It's locked, so I have to unlock it, okay?" Treating Leila as a retard, he showed her his car key and pressed a button on it, and there was a click. "Now, you can open it."

Leila rolled his eyes. This guy was overreacting just because of a stupid car. She gave it a kick, and Bosco shrieked. She chuckled, finding pleasure in Bosco's twinge.

"Kelly!" Bosco screamed for his precious Nissan Z sports car and turned to glare at Leila. "You--"

However, before he could say another word, Leila opened the car door and sent it slamming into him. "Move," she hissed.

After she shut the door, Raymond stepped up and gave Bosco a pat on the back. "You okay, buddy?" He asked, laughing at Bosco's infuriated face.

Bosco was too angry to answer. He turned and got into the driver's seat. Raymond shrugged and lodged up the luggages in the trunk before taking his seat. It was silent on the ride as nobody was willing to talk. Raymond sighed, knowing that Bosco wasn't too fond of Leila. He couldn't blame Bosco, though. A person in their right mind would not dare to touch Bosco's precious Kelly, let alone, kick it. He'd go mad.

"So," Raymond decided to spark up a conversation, knowing that he couldn't stand if the silence was prolonged. "How was your flight?" He asked Leila.

She didn't answer.

"What a dumb question, Raymond," Bosco spoke up, finally. "Of course. Plane rides suck."

Raymond sent Bosco a look, as if saying "Was I asking you?"

"Where are we going?" Leila's voice echoed.

"Um, of course, your house, retard," said Bosco, not realizing his rudeness. Raymond nudged him, "What?" Bosco said, confused. "Why are you giving me weird looks?"

Raymond sighed. Bosco could be blunt sometimes. "No, Bosco. She's coming with me."

Leila gaped in surprise at Raymond's words. "Me, living with you?" Her harsh tone spoke out every inch of displeasure she had for the idea. She scoffed, and folded her arms in disbelief. "Why is this? Didn't the old man beg me to move in with him? And now all of a sudden, you're telling me I'm going to live with you? What's wrong with you?"

Raymond chuckled, trying to lighten the atmosphere. Leila's anger was reasonable; he had expected it. "Look, something went wrong, and now you're have nowhere else to go but my home."

"Come on, you think Raymond wants to shelter a dog like you?" Bosco couldn't help and added his two cents worth. "Be grateful he's willing to take you in."

That bastard, Leila cursed. Was I talking to him? She turned her head and looked out of the window, refusing to respond. Her sensible side got a hold of her, and she would rather eat a burnt hot dog than waste her energy in arguing with a simple-minded, stupid man. Such man was Bosco. She laughed siliently.

She stopped when she thought of the situation. What would it be like not living with her father, but her brother instead? She didn't expect this to happen. In all honesty, she'd rather choose the former. Thinking about facing Raymond's friends who drop by frequently made Leila shiver, not to mention, stupid Bosco Wong was part of the clique. Bosco Wong! Such name rang an eerie tone in her ears!

"Did you just call me?" Bosco asked amid the silence.

"Me? No," Raymond replied. "You must be hearing things."

Leila quickly covered her mouth and stifled a laugh at Bosco's clueless face.

"I swore I heard my name," Bosco murmured to himself, turning toward a freeway's entrance.

Shortly, Leila and Raymond were heading up the stairs to the apartment while Bosco lagged behind carrying the luggage. He couldn't believe he was doing that! All his life, people served him, not him serving them! But Raymond was giving him a pleading look earlier that he couldn't refuse. What were friends for then? Bosco sighed.

What was even more ridiculous was that Raymond planned a surprise party for Leila. What a stupid idea, Bosco thought. As if she'll appreciates it. But inside, Bosco knew Raymond was just trying to win his little sister over.
