She then looked up from the card with tears in her eyes. Ji Yong then emerged from the darkness holding a bouquet of purple tulips. “Happy anniversary,” Ji Yong stated as Michelle burst into tears as Ji Yong handed her the flowers. “Why are you crying?” He asked as he wiped the tears away.
“Because I really thought that you forgot about our anniversary, and now I feel bad for even thinking that.”
“Don’t cry because of that. It’s our special day. We’re supposed to be happy.” He began to wipe away her tears as he leaned in slowly and kissed her softly. In that mere moment she felt as though his kiss erased all her sorrow. He pulled away slowly and whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” She responded with a smile on her face as she pulled him into a warm embrace.
“So would my lovely girlfriend like to join me for a special dinner, just for her?”
“Yes, she would love that.” He then pulled out the chair for her and pushed her in. They enjoyed their dinner together, and as the night continued on, tears of joy replaced tears of sorrow. Once they were finished with dinner, Ji Yong got up and grabbed dessert. Ji Yong walked back with a lid covered plate. “So what’s inside of it?” Michelle asked.
“I don’t know, maybe chocolate mousse or maybe not.”
“You made me chocolate mousse?” He shrugged his shoulders and she quickly lifted up the lid. To her surprise it was not chocolate mousse. It was a set of rings. “You got us a set of couple’s ring? This must have been expensive!”
“No price is too much for you.”
“You’re so cheesy.” Ji Yong laughed at Michelle’s comment.
“And besides, this way now everyone will know that you’re my girlfriend and I’m your boyfriend.” He placed one of the rings on her finger and she the same for him.
“I love you.” Michelle stated as she hugged him tightly.
“I love you too.”
“What do you want to do now?”
“Nothing, I just want to hold you.”
“Oh before I forget, this is for you.” She picked up the fit bag off the floor and handed it to him.
“What’s this?”
“Your gift silly.” He then opened the gift bag and discovered that she had made him a scrap book.
“This is awesome! It has almost every picture we ever took with each other. Thank you.” He then hugged her tightly.
“That’s not all of it.”
“There’s more?”
“Yes, close your eyes.” Once she was certain his eyes were closed she placed the watch on his wrist. Ji Yong then opened his eyes the moment she finished clipping his watch on.
“This is the watch I’ve been wanting!” He exclaimed out of shock. “Thank you so much.” He leaned in and started to kiss her. He then pulled her closer towards him and continued to kiss her as he hugged her tightly, as though he never wanted to let her go. Then suddenly Michelle’s phone began to ring. She pulled away quickly an answered her phone. Ji Yong had a look of disappointment plastered all over his face, while Michelle gave him an apologetic look. “Hello?” She answered the phone.
“Michelle? Where are you?” Her mother asked.
“I’m out with Ji Yong.”
“Well, come home soon because it’s getting late.”
“Okay, bye mom.”
“Bye.” She hung up the phone and hugged her boyfriend.
“I have to go home.”
“Really?’
“Yeah, my mom wants me home because it’s getting late.”
“Alright, I’ll walk you out.” He then grabbed her hand and walked her to her car.
“Thank you for a lovely night.”
“You’re welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.
“Well, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow. Drive safe okay?”
“Love you.”
“Love you too.” Ji Yong then hugged her and kissed her goodnight. Michelle got into the car and drove away.
