Wait
“What am I going to do?” She asked herself as she could barely stand up. She decided to drag him into the house, because she could no longer support the both of them up. She used all her strength to drag Ji Yong into the living and she placed him on the couch. “Ji Yong.” Michelle continued to call his name as she lightly tapped his face. After a couple of minutes Ji Yong woke up. “Michelle? Where am I?” Ji Yong asked.
“You’re inside my house.”
“Why?”
“Because you fainted.”
“What? I-” Before Ji Yong could finish his statement Michelle shushed him. She then quickly ran towards the window to see who if she was hearing things. As she opened the curtains she saw her dad’s car pull up in the drive way. “Oh crap.” Michelle exclaimed as she quickly ran back towards Ji Yong. “Get up.” She demanded.
“What? Why?”
“Just get up and follow me now!” She exclaimed. Ji Yong then got up and followed Michelle.
“Where are we going?”
“To my room.”
“Why?” He shouted.
“Shush! Can you please be quiet I will tell you when it’s safe.”
“Safe?”
“Shush.” Ji Yong then followed behind Michelle quietly. After a couple of minutes they reached Michelle’s room. “Hurry up and get in.” She was basically pushing Ji Yong into the room.
“So are you going to tell me why we’re here?”
“My dad’s home, and he will kill you and me if he saw us downstairs.”
“Why?”
“Hello, I am a girl. It’s like 3 in the morning and I have a boy over when no one is home.”
“Oh I see your point.” Ji Yong then began to sneeze furiously. Michelle immediately placed her hand on top of his head.
“You have a fever.”
“Do I really?”
“Yeah. Here let me try to find something you can wear.”
“You don’t have to, I am fine.”
“No you are not.” Michelle then walked over to her dresser and began to dig through her clothes in hopes to find something that would fit him.
“This might sound weird but why are you being so nice to me?”
“Can’t I be nice to you?” Michelle asked as she handed him some clothes.
“Hey theses are mine.” Ji Yong stated. “You kept them?”
“I didn’t even know I had them.” Michelle replied a little embarrassed.
“Well, where can I change into these?”
“In my bathroom.” Michelle turned the lights on in her bathroom and Ji Yong walked in.
“Michelle? Why are you still awake?” Michelle’s father stated as he knocked on her door. She began to panic. ‘Oh my goodness what am I going to do? If he finds out that Ji Yong is in my room I’ll be dead.’ She thought to herself as she replied.
“Oh just doing some homework.”
“Well go to bed, it’s late you. You can finish your homework tomorrow.”
“Yes dad.”
“Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” Michelle let out a breath of relief. At that very moment Ji Yong opened the door to the bathroom. Michelle ran up to him and quickly covered his mouth. Ji Yong tried to talk but all that could be heard was mumbles.
“Shush. My dad is home, so you have to be quiet okay?” Michelle said as Ji Yong nodded his head. She then pulled her hand away. “I’m going to go check if my dad is in his room okay?”
“Okay.” Ji Yong whispered back. Michelle then walked out of the room. A couple of minutes later she came back.
“He’s sleeping.”
“Okay then, I guess I should leave now.” Ji Yong said as he headed towards the door.
“Wait.” Michelle immediately said as she turned around, not facing him. She was looking at her bed as Ji Yong turned around from the door.
“Yes?”
“Don’t leave.” Michelle muttered.
“What?”
“Don’t leave.” Michelle said a little louder.
“Why, are you not sure if your dad is sleeping?”
“No.”
“Then why not?”
“Because, I don’t want you too.”
“Huh?”
“What I mean is that, I want you to tell me what happened that day.”
“Why now? Why not before?”
“Well, I don’t know.”
“I finally have the courage to leave you and now you’re pulling me back in. Why are you doing this to me?” Ji Yong said.
“I don’t know how to answer that, but if you don’t want to talk then you can leave. Sorry for putting you in this situation.” Michelle said and neither of them would turn around and face each other. Everything fell silent. No one said a word to the other. ‘Why am I doing this? Shouldn’t I be happy that he is leaving?’ Michelle thought to herself. “You can-” Michelle started to say but Ji Yong began to talk as well. “That night-” Ji Yong said and they both stopped.
“Yes?” Michelle said.
“On that night when you saw me supposedly kissing another girl, I wasn’t. She kissed me, I know that sounds stupid but she was. It really wasn’t what it seemed, she was telling me that she liked me and she wanted to be with me. I told her I had a girlfriend but she said she didn’t care, all she wanted was a chance to be with me and as I was walking away she kissed me and that’s what you saw. But you left and didn’t see what happened afterwards. I pushed her away and if you don’t believe me its okay but you can ask Dae Sung. When he came and found me I was pushing her off of me. I really wished you would have just allowed me to explain myself to you then we might not be in this situation.” After Ji Yong’s statement he looked into Michelle’s eyes.
“I don’t know what to say.”
“It’s okay. You don’t have to say anything. Well, I am going to go back to Korea in a couple of days so you don’t have to worry about seeing me again. Have a nice life and I am glad I got to spend a part of my life with you.” On that note Ji Yong left her room and her house. Michelle didn’t know what she wanted. She just stood in her room with mix feelings. She didn’t want him to leave yet she didn’t know if she could fully forgive him.
