He looked over at Hongyin. She wasn't buying his false playing, but kept silent. She was wearing a black dress with long, flared sleeves with jewels hanging on golden thread from them. She touched a ruby dangling from her sleeve and stared at it.
A few months ago, Persephone had received weird images in her mind that she described to him vaguely in three words.
Chariot.
Blood.
Darkness.
Hades kept his mouth shut because he knew what those three images meant. He hoped that Persephone would not receive any more images like those. He also hoped that she would not remember those images.
Because they represented a very painful memory.

Persephone knew that Hades was letting her win. She'd seen him ruthlessly defeat many of the other gods in chess. However, she liked winning, even if he was playing false game.
"Persephone." Hades looked at her so lovingly that he looked like a pervert.
Persephone smirked at him.
"Would you like to go somewhere?"

Jay sat down on the grass and watched as Hongyin danced with the happy shades in the Elysian Fields. The Elysian Fields were where people who were judged of great virtue were kept in the Underworld. It was always holiday, and the shades danced happily all day and night. They had the option of being reborn again, but only the bravest accepted that option.
The Chinese song "Wo Sher Zhen De Zhen De Hen Ai Ni" which meant "I Really Really Love You" sung by Jerry Yan (Jay didn't know that) played, and the shades began to waltz with each other. Every shade in the Elysian Fields were paired off so Hongyin was left out. She stood off at the side looking bored and...bored.
The perfect opportunity.
Jay stood up and walked toward Hongyin. He tried to smile sincerely but he looked intoxicated with wine instead. She smirked at him until he asked, "Would you like to dance?"
"You can waltz?" Hongyin asked.
"Yeah."
They began to dance but soon Jay was hopping while holding his foot in pain. "I thought you knew how to waltz," he gasped.
"When did I say I could waltz?"
Jay fell.

Hades and Persephone spent hours practicing the art of waltz. The happy shades helped Hades teach Persephone, giving tips and adjusting where their feet were. After much of Hades' yelping and Persephone's clumsiness, they managed to waltz unsteadily around the Elysian Fields. The happy shades clapped.
Before leaving, Hades gave the shades some chocolate.
"Why'd you do that?" Persephone asked. Such a generous guy. Reminded her of her father Zeus, who was generous in children.
"I don't like to owe anyone."
Never mind, Hongyin thought.
Then she heard a familiar voice calling a strange word...
She turned toward the voice.

Jay was alarmed. "No...NO! He can't be here!" Old memories couldn't come back. They would tear Hongyin and him apart. He thought he had locked away anything to do with the past. He grabbed Hongyin's arm and pulled her away from the Elysian Fields screaming.
