"Then we don't finish it." Edison simply replied. "What's the use of finishing it then? Mei's gone and she's never going to return."
Nicholas, frustrated and angered, walked out of the room and slammed the door. Not watching where he was going as he walked to his room to help Charlene pack up, he bumped into someone and both fell onto the floor.
"Watch where you're going."
Nicholas got up, looked at the woman and felt his mouth fall to the floor. "Hebe! I'm so sorry!"
"It's no problem." Hebe said. "How's Ed?"
"You mean Mr. Sulking-Around-In-Sorrow?" asked Nicholas. "He's in his room. And don't mention our lost actress."
"Thanks." Hebe walked off.

Edison held Gillian's diary in one hand and held his picture in the other. Slowly, he put the torn pictures together, then pulled them away from each other. Letting out a deep sigh, he turned to the inner pages.
"Dear Diary,
Today I met a very nice person. Nicholas Tse introduced him to me, saying that he likes movies and wants to be a director one day. I'm deciding to start taking acting lessons so that I can be his star actress one of these days."
He continued reading every single passage until he came to the very last page.
"Dear Diary,
I've realized that Edison is that guy I met and loved three years ago. It was all fate, wasn't it? It's sad that he didn't believe me. Edison didn't believe that I was Mei. But anyways, I already made plans to leave tomorrow and I won't tell you where. And Edison, if you're reading this right now, I wish you the best in life. Please don't stop directing because you're really great at it! I love you, Ed, and I always will. Signing off!"
Edison was disturbed by the opening of his bedroom door. In stepped Hebe full of concern. He closed the book and turned to Hebe. Hebe could feel his unhappiness and is willing to give him back that happiness he was always searching for.
"Ed, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Edison replied. "What are you doing here?"
"I want to tell you the truth." Hebe answered. "I've liked you for a long time, just as much as you've liked me. When Jun Jie asked for my hand in marriage, I didn't know what to say."
"Well, I wish both of you the best of luck in marriage." said Edison. "Why isn't he with you?"
"I cancelled the marriage." Hebe said. "When I heard that Gillian left with all your happiness the second time, I wanted to help give it back."
Edison turned to the window where the sun shined into the bay. "You've wasted your time coming to me."
"What do you mean, Edison?" Hebe questioned.
Edison smiled. "I realized that I was always in love with the Mei of my past. Now that I've met her again in this lifetime, the only happiness she gave me is the memories we shared together. The memories I, for a long time, yearned to remember. That way..that way Mei will forever exist in my heart."

[...Two years later...]
"You're listening to Hong Kong Radio. We have a new release and a new dedication today. This song is dedicated to Mei Chung by Hong Kong's newest leading singer, Edison Chen."
There was a short pause on the radio and finally the song slowly started getting louder.

Honk! Crash! Boom! Two cars crashed and one went up in flames. The people in one car survived, but the woman in the other car died.
