Chapter Thirteen ‘Stag Night’
Charlene’s P.O.V
It was stag night for the guys. They decided to have it at Edison’s mansion. Charlene and Gillian were stuck at the Reeves mansion. Surprisingly for Charlene her uncles and aunts were talking to her. Her stepmother isn’t though. Charlene sighed it away. She really wanted her stepmother to treat her like a family. Or better yet like her.
Gillian’s P.O.V
Gillian was laughing and chatting in the library with Charlene’s aunts. But they soon had to leave to do last minute check-ups. She had a smug look on her face and looked at Charlene who was in deep thoughts. They were seated at the same couch but at each end.
‘You know,’ Gillian started. ‘I keep seeing you glance at Edison every time.’ That got Charlene’s attention. She suppressed a smile. She talked like in a matter-of-fact and I’m-not-bothered tone. Gillian carried on when she saw that Charlene wasn’t saying anything. ‘Its not my like is my business or anything; I’m just saying what I have seen. It’s like you fancy him or something.’
Charlene froze. Gillian saw this. She nearly screamed out loud but clamped her mouth with her hand. Charlene slowly looked up with an it’s-not-my-fault expression.
‘Omg! Omg!’ she chanted the words. She was indeed shocked since she had been actually joking with Charlene. ‘Why?’
‘Why?’ Charlene repeated. ‘I don’t know!’
‘But his not…’ she stopped there thinking its not her saying.
‘His not what?’ Charlene came a little closer to her. She got a little scared. Scared she might get in trouble.
‘His…’ Charlene came a closer. She gulped. ‘His not…’ Charlene came closer. She couldn’t take it any longer that she blurted it all out. ‘His not romantic at all!’
She squeezed her eyes shut. Oddly she found the room quiet. She opened one eye to look at Charlene. Charlene was staring at her blankly. She couldn’t tell her expression how Charlene was feeling. When she thought it was safe she opened her other eye. Not for long did Charlene begin to shake. She got scared.
Omg! What’s going on? Gillian thought. Hold on. She’s not shaking. She’s laughing. She’s laughing?
She looked closely at Charlene. ‘Are you okay?’ she asked.
Charlene who was holding her stomach kept on laughing. ‘You…’ she started but she was laughing still. Gillian got angry. Why was she laughing! Seeing this Charlene stopped. Well she tried. She was trying really hard to stop. ‘You should have seen your face! Omg! You were scared.’ This made Charlene start up again.
‘You always get angry if I say anything about the guys you like,’ Gillian said innocently.
‘Sorry,’ Charlene said with a straight face. She stopped laughing. ‘That was the old me.’
Charlene’s P.O.V
They were chatting about the past guys Charlene dated. Charlene tried getting Gillian’s high school crush into this but she would always dodge them and bring it back to her. She was going to confront Gillian when she was interrupted by a bunch of girls laughing that entered the library. The girls stopped abruptly when they saw them. Charlene saw that they were wearing short revealing clothes. She felt disgusted.
‘Leave at once!’ one of the three girls rudely said.
Charlene saw that Gillian was going to tell the girls off. She signalled Gillian not to. She had a plan.
‘Go along with me,’ she said in Chinese. ‘I think you all are ugly! You’re making me sick! Put some clothes on!’
‘What did you say?’ said the second girl.
‘What did she say?’ Gillian said in Chinese. She loved it.
‘Speak English!’ the third one shouted.
Charlene shrugged her shoulders. ‘Me no speak,’ she pretended to struggle the words out.
‘I don’t care! Just get lost!’ the first one yelled.
Charlene gave them a blank look. So did Gillian following Charlene’s act. They were having a laugh with these girls.
‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, tart!’ Charlene shouted.
‘Put some clothes on, pro!’ Gillian said.
They ignored the three girls and chatted still in Chinese to themselves.
‘Who do they think they are?’ Gillian snickered.
‘They give white girls bad name!’
‘Hey don’t ignore us!’ the first girl angrily said.
‘What are you going to do about it?’ Gillian clamped her mouth with both her hand. She had spoken in English. ‘Oops!’
The only thing Charlene could manage was ‘run’. And that’s what they did. They ran out of the library, out in the hallway and into one of the rooms. It was the kitchen.
It was deserted. They both hid behind one of the counters. They both covered their mouths and giggled.
‘Ssshhhh,’ Charlene said but was giggling.
‘You sssshhhh,’ Gillian said with a childish tone.
‘They’re going to hear us!’ she said but she also was giggling.
‘Hey you wanna go to Edison’s mansion and see what they’re up t?’
‘Yes!’ she shouted out. They heard footsteps outside the kitchen door. ‘Oops!’ this made them roar with laughter. ‘Lets go!’ she lead Gillian and herself outside the back of the mansion. They looked like drunken girls as they staggered to the front of the mansion while they were laughing in each other’s arms.
It was dark outside. She got her mobile phone out of her purse and called her driver to pick them up. When he came with the limo they went straight in before he could get out of the limo to open the door for them.
They were still giggling. They put the music on. Shania Twain ‘I'm Gonna Getcha Good!’ came on the radio. Gillian basted the music high. They sang along with the song. Charlene thought of Edison and that she was singing it to him.

By the time the song finished they were around the corner to Edison’s mansion. They got out of the limo at the corner and crept slowly to the front of the mansion.. They were messing about.
Edison’s P.O.V
He had took a break from the guys and went outside to have a fresh air. His mind kept wondering off to Charlene. He decided to confront her and say that he likes her. But then it will be a waste of time. There could never be anything between them at all. He didn’t know what to do.
He saw two figures lurking behind his bushes. He got alarmed. He was going to go inside and call the others but something stopped. He squinted his eyes as if that will help him see in the dark. He then recognised who the two figures were. It was no other than Charlene and Gillian. He smiled at the two figures. They couldn’t see him. he saw them acting like they were soldiers rolling on the ground, looking behind them to see if anyone caught them. They pretended that the were holding a gun and walked back to back. He shook his head chuckling. He couldn’t take it no longer. This was hilarious. He stepped in the open for them to be able to see him.
‘Hi, girls!’ he waved one hand. The two of them froze. He smiled. They quickly stood right, fixed themselves and walked up to him coolly.
‘Hi!’ They chorused in a cool tone and bopped their head. He noticed that Charlene was avoiding to meet is eyes.
‘Urm… I’ll be inside…ok,’ Gillian said but Edison just ignored her. Charlene didn’t stop Gillian. ‘Well okay!’ She sighed and disappeared through the door.
Charlene bit her bottom lips. He wanted to kiss those lips. He wanted to taste them. He brushed the back of his hand on her left cheek. This got Charlene to look at him. he leaned close and touched her lips. He pulled back to see her face. Her eyes were closed. He kissed her once, twice and was going to kiss hr again but she had pulled him by his collar and kissed him properly. The were kissing passionately.
They broke apart after what looked like a year to him. he wanted more. She touched her forehead with his.
‘I think we should go inside now,’ she whispered.
He agreed with her but his heart and body didn’t. He wanted them to kiss like that forever. They went inside. Charlene went before. The guys were at living room. He could hear their laughter.
Charlene whispered to him that she was tired and that she’s going to bed. But before she went she ran up to him and kissed him on the lips. She smiled when they broke apart.
‘Good night,’ she whispered. ‘I like you!’ She then shyly ran up the stairs.
‘I like you too,’ he whispered back. He knew she couldn’t hear him.

Comment please! I think that was a long chapter, don’t you think Starluvr? 5 pages in the MSW! Anyway i'm so happy! Guess what! I got Edison’s ‘Hits or Misses’ and ‘Peace and Love’ Yeeepeeee! I also got some movies as well: ‘Dummy mummy with out a baby’ (Edison looked gorgeous!)‘Nine girls and a ghost’ (Edison looked sexy!) ‘The spy dad’ (Edison looked handsome!) ‘2002’ (Stephen looked ooohhhh with Nicholas. Mmmm) ‘My schoolmate, the barbarian’ and ‘My wife is 18’ (Charlene was a laugh and Ekin look gorgeous) loved the movies is all I can say thanks to YesAsia.
