Chapter Forty-Four ‘Shawn Wants Gillian Back’
‘Gillian,’ he called out. She stopped at her track. He had camped outside her house door waiting for his chance to talk to her. He didn’t like the fact that she was talking to Charlene and not him. It has been two weeks and he was getting impatient. She tried to get back inside the house but he grabbed hold of her wrist. ‘Don’t,’ he pleaded. He let go of her wrist not wanting to force her to stay.
‘Shawn,’ she barely whispered. She was lost in his eyes. She could see the pain in his eyes. ‘What are you doing here?’
‘To see you and sort out our problem,’ he replied dryly.
‘There’s nothing to sort out,’ she protested.
‘But there is. Why are you avoiding me? Why won’t you answer my calls? What’s wrong?’
She closed her eyes tightly then opened them. ‘You wouldn’t understand.’
‘Try me,’ he offered.
‘Please, don’t do this,’ she begged, tears were forming in her eyes.
‘Why? What’s so wrong about me? Can there be nothing between us?’
She stared at him. ‘Do you want there to be something between us?’ she searched his eyes wanting so badly for him to say yes.
‘If you will have me,’ he answered.
She laughed. Yes! This is what she wanted! She wanted to shout out but she just hugged him. ‘I thought you only wanted to be friends.’
‘I did,’ he responded. ‘I said I wanted to sort my family problem first. It sorted now. I have a sister and now I was hoping to get a girlfriend.’
‘Urm… I don’t know about that,’ she joked.
‘Right,’ he said. ‘I still owe you dinner.’
She laughed. ‘Maybe you do,’ she teased loving the idea. ‘Daniels’ at 8?
‘I’ll pick you up,’ he kissed her fully on the lips and then left leaving a dreamy Gillian.
‘I think I’m in love,’ she whispered to herself. She then sighed and went back in forgetting where she was going to go.
He thought he was the happiest man alive. She made him happy. He held the red roses on one hand and knocked the door with the other. The flowers covered his face. The door opened and he held his breath.
‘Omg! Are those for me?’ he heard the teasing on the voice. The voice was definitely not Gillian. He stilled thinking how embarrassing he looked right now.
He slowly peered through the flowers and saw Joey standing there with a huge grin on her face. ‘Eh, is Gillian in?’ he struggled to say. His face was red.
‘What do I get?’ she asked.
‘Three roses?’ he offered. She nodded with satisfaction then left him there, taking the three roses without saying anything about Gillian. He sighed and stepped inside. He closed the door behind and stood there examining the place.
‘Hey, you’re early,’ he turned around to the stairs. His heart stopped for a second. ‘What’s wrong?’ she asked in concern.
He realized that he held his breath and breathed out. ‘You…you look… beautiful,’ he stuttered. She wore a white strapless dress. The dress flowed above her knees. She wore transparent sandals. It looked like Cinderella all over again but with everything else different but this moment. She put extension on her hair and tied it up in a bun with some small crystals on it.
‘Thank you,’ she smiled at him. They didn’t move just stared at each other.
‘Hey, guys don’t you have somewhere to go?’ they pulled themselves together and stared at Joey who came in the room still holding the three roses. ‘Shall I put those in a vase?’ Joey came and stood in front of him. He snapped out of his daze and nodded. She took the flowers and disappeared though the doors that led to the kitchen.
‘Were those for me?’ Gillian asked.
‘Yes,’ he breathed out.
‘We should go now,’ she whispered. She walked to him and linked her arm around his. They set off in his limo. ‘You look handsome in tux,’ she commented when they reached Daniels’. A host came and guided them to their table. They settled on their chair and ordered.
‘It looks beautiful tonight,’ she examined the place. The light was dimmed. Flowers were all around. And people were talking quietly and laughing. It looked like a couple’s night.
‘So, have you thought about it?’
She looked at him with blank expression. ‘Thought about what?’
‘About being my girlfriend,’ he asked.
‘Urm, ask me again when we’re out of this place,’ she replied. She was having fun playing with him. He grunted.
‘So, have you thought of it now?’ he asked while they were now walking around the beach. They finished their dinner and had headed for the beach.
‘Yes,’ she nodded.
‘Yes, what? Yes you thought of it or yes you will be my girlfriend?’ he teased.
‘Yes to both,’ she looked down shyly.
He chuckled at her cute shyness. He then grabbed her and hugged her twirling her around. She screamed and laughed at the same time. He then kissed her, putting her down on her feet.
‘I love you,’ he said all of a sudden.
She stilled. Did she hear correctly? Did he say he loves me? She stared at him. ‘What did you say?’ she choked out.
‘I know that it’s too fast but I just wanted to tell you now than later,’ he explained. ‘I love you.’
She hugged him tightly. ‘I love you, too,’ she whispered in his ear.

Comments plz! So is there any SG fan here who were waiting for a chap bout them? now u probably wondering why i havent posted on thurs or fri? thats coz i havent been having that much comment! for the last chap i had at least 5.
