They got to the reception that took half an hour then went to Daniel’s restaurant for the after party. It was only opened for the wedding party. Daniel had cooked the dish that the bride and groom chose. They sat at the center so everyone can see them. One by one guests came to congratulate them. Everyone admired them. Some envied and some were jealous. But the entire guests were happy that they know the bride and groom. It was somehow an honor for them.
‘So, baby now we’re married does that mean if I flirt with you, you have to flirt with me?’ Edison asked.
‘Maybe,’ she said.
‘She doesn’t know how to flirt,’ Nicholas said. He and Joey came up to their table. ‘Remember she’s a Virgin Mary.’
‘She won’t be after tonight,’ Edison winked. Charlene hit him on his stomach with her elbow. ‘Oof!’ He turned to her. She was blushing furiously.
Nicholas was laughing. Joey glared at him. ‘Leave them alone,’ she warned him. ‘It’s their wedding day.’ He stopped laughing abruptly.
‘Well, congrats both of you. Have happy marriage lives!’ he said it as if he was reading from a line.
‘Thanks,’ they both said in unison.
Nicholas and Joey left their side. It was time for the speeches. Shawn gave a brotherly speech. Her father gave a speech. Nicholas gave a speech and Gillian gave a speech too. There was going to be more speeches but Edison stood up before anyone could make one.
He looked down at Charlene when he got everyone’s attention. ‘I made a quick speech. I hope its not going to bore you all,’ he smiled. ‘Because I Love You The more I am with you, the more I feel our love grow. But when I am away from you, I grow to love you even more. I smile whenever I recall the special moments we have had; walking always hand in hand through the good times and the bad. Sometimes, I think it is a dream -- the love you give me could not be; but then when you are in my arms there's no mistake in its purity. How lucky can a person be; I've found the likes of you, my love, with whom to share eternity! I am stronger because of you, blessed to be with you, and lost without you. You are my every dream come true.’
Charlene’s mouth was hanging when he finished. She stood up and hugged him. ‘I wasn’t bored at all,’ she whispered. ‘And you don’t call that quick.’ He chuckled. She pulled apart. ‘My turn.’ She pushed him gently to sit down and towered over him. She held his hand and spoke softly.

He stood and kissed her. Taking her mouth roughly. He couldn’t believe she would come up with something that good making him proud of what he had. There was cheering and whistling around the restaurant.
The party went on. Charlene felt nervous. She kept looking around. Edison noticed but didn’t confide in her. He felt insecure that she was regretting they got married. Was she? He thought. Daniel signaled her to come.
‘I have to go to the bathroom,’ she said.
‘Should I come with you?’ he asked fearing she would do a runner.
‘No,’ she quickly responded, horrified. It only made him feel more insecure. She left his side. His gaze followed her back. She kept looking back on him, checking if he was looking at her.
Edison’s vision was blurred when someone came on the way. ‘Hey, man,’ Shawn greeted. ‘How you doing?’
Edison looked up. ‘I’m okay,’ he lied. He wasn’t okay! He wanted to shout out. I think my wife is regretting marrying me!
‘Glad to hear, man. I wouldn’t want to have to be violent with you.’
‘I love your sister and I’d do anything for her,’ he declared his love.
‘Ladies and Gentlemen can I have your attention.’ Edison and Shawn turned around. The lights went off in the restaurant. Everything was dark. Then the stage lit up showing Daniel holding a microphone. ‘I would proudly represent the entertainer tonight. She will be singing From This Moment.’
The stage light went off. There was darkness all around.
‘I do swear that I’ll always be there. I’d give
Anything and everything and I will always care.
Through the weakness and strength, happiness
And sorrow, for better, for worse, I will love

As the instrument played Edison kept thinking it couldn’t be. It couldn’t be Charlene. The stage light lit to show Charlene on the stage. He gasped out loud. He wasn’t the only one. Everyone else did the same. She held the microphone on her hand and her eyes were closed. On the queue with the music she began singing again.
‘From this moment life has begun

Edison slowly made it to the stage, enchanted and mesmerized by her voice. The guests were all thinking what else this couple would surprise them with as they clapped and cheered yet again. Everything they do and say is amazing. Not one day would go by with them surprising each other.
She took his stretched hands in hers. She had put the microphone on the stand next to her. ‘I thought you don’t like singing in front of anyone. And we’re definitely not in the shower,’ he grinned from ear to ear.
‘No we’re not in the shower,’ she admitted. ‘As I sang I’d do anything for you.’
‘I swear I thought you regretted marrying me,’ he confronted her.
Her eyes widened. ‘I would never leave you! You, my man, are forever mines. There’s no escape for you.’
‘Ditto,’ he said. He kissed her. ‘Ditto,’ he repeated. He had been scared that she would leave him. Now he got his answer. She’ll never leave even if they have an argument. And that goes with him. He won’t ever let her go the way he let her go before. Never in his life is he going to go through the misery again. She meant the world to him.
Charlene was going to make sure he doesn’t leave her like he did before. He thought she was going to run away! Who does he think she is? Julia Robert? He meant the world to her and if they were apart she’ll break just like last time.
‘I love you,’ she whispered.
‘I love you too,’ he said.
