Moses: Flora, say what you have to say to her…
Flora: Huh?
Moses: Don’t worry, I’ll settle the rest for you!
Flora: Moses, you…
Moses: (looks at her) Don’t worry, no matter what happens, I’ll always be on your side!
Flora: (shakes her head unbelievably) Moses, what are you doing? I’m not getting it!
Moses: I won’t do anything to hurt her, but let’s just keep her here, let’s just let her…
Flora: This is already illegal imprisonment!
Moses: Flora, don’t you get it? I’m trying to help you!
Flora: Help me what? By keeping her here you’re harming me instead of helping! What were you thinking, Moses?
Moses: I…
Flora: Moses, you got the wrong idea! (pauses) Even you believe what Gallen is saying?
Moses: No, Flora! I believe you are not in the wrong! You were right to do so! You were right to hate him!
Flora: I did not!
Moses: (pulls her hand) Come on Flora, let’s go!
Flora: No, Moses! Listen to me!
Moses: (upset) Why won’t you let me help you? I’m the only one standing by you right now! Even Ada is not helping you!
Flora: Okay Moses, let me get a drink first!
She pretended to walk to the kitchen but stealthily picked up the wooden shelf and knocked the guy out…
Kenix: (taken aback) What are you doing?
Flora: (unties her) Let’s get out of here before he wakes up!
With that, Flora and Kenix made their way out of the apartment and straight into the lift. Then they jumped into Flora’s car as she drove off to the hospital.
Kenix: Where are we going?
Flora: To the hospital, we’re going to look for Gallen!
Kenix: For what?
Flora: To sort everything out! I’m tired of all these!

[Hospital – Gallen’s ward]
Flora drags Kenix with her into the ward and Gallen got a fright.
Gallen: Ada!
Ada: (behind them) Kenix!
Gallen: Kenix, are you okay?
Flora: Now I’m returning her to you, stop saying I abduct her or whatever!
Flora then stormed out of the room sobbing. She felt so hurt that none of her close ones trust her. At the hallway, she ran into a white figure.
Louis: Ouch, watch it!
Flora: Louis!
Louis: What happened, Flora?
Flora: (sobbing) Was it a fault for me not to reveal our relationship to them? I truly felt it wasn’t a problem, but I just don't know why things turned out like this…
Louis: (supporting her) Let me explain it to him! To them!
Flora: I need to be alone! (walked away)
Louis: (shouts after her) Be careful!
Louis then makes his way to Gallen’s ward.
Ada: How did you end up with Flora, Kenix? What did she do to you?
Gallen: She was the one who kept you in, right? I’m sorry, it’s my fault!
Kenix: Actually…
Louis: (comes in looks at the others) I guess I need a talk with you guys!
Gallen: I want a change of doctor!
Louis: Why?
Gallen: I don’t trust you!
Louis: (seriously) I told you, you’re sick, you need treatment, get it?
Gallen: You’re the sick one!
Louis: (takes a deep breath) I finally understand Flora’s feeling now! (takes a pause) Okay, let me just say this once and for all…
Louis took a breath and started telling them about Flora’s childhood story…
Since her parents’ divorce, Flora had been staying with her cousin and her father in a public flat. Her father used to be a good husband and a good father but since the day he got addicted to gambling, it spelt no good ending for the family. He lost his job as a manager due to creditors looking up at his workplace and later got engaged in illegal dealings to pay for his addiction. Soon, he even used their house as an illegal den.
Flora’s mother could not stand her husband’s behaviours and therefore decided to leave him for good, leaving the daughter with him. The 7-year-old Flora then moved to her Auntie’s place with her father, where they stayed with her cousin, Louis. Her Auntie soon passed away due to illness. Her father became more upset after the loss of his wife, and often took his anger on the kids. He did not repent and his misbehaviors even got more severe.
Once, he tried to sell off Flora to a smuggler for a sum of money but the girl managed to escape off the boat with the help of her cousin. She loathed her father more. She did not understand how a simple and blissful family could turn out like this. If only her father had not indulged in his gambling business, nothing of these would have happened, and she could still maintain the small family they had. However, time is irreversible, and therefore Flora could only hope that she could grow up faster and get a life of her own.
Days gone by, but her father showed no signs of repent. Nonetheless, Flora was determined to get out of the life she was in. She studied hard and got scholarships to see herself through University. That day, she received the letter of admission from the University and showed it excitedly to Louis. Unexpectedly, the latter broke the news to her. Her father, his uncle was arrested by the police for illegal possession of firearms and trickery. Later, he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.
Flora was confused; she did not know whether she should feel happy or sad, that is her father after all. After his father’s arrest, Flora never stayed there anymore, as she does not want to be reminded of the days they were there. Like Louis, she moved into the school’s hostel and spent the rest of her education days there. The second year, Louis got a scholarship to further his studies in England. However, they still keep in touch closely until today.
Louis: Only until recently did we got to know that you were the one who arrested her father, but sincerely we have nothing against you. It’s all in your imagination.
Suddenly, Gallen got up and ran out of the room…
