丫頭 looked up from the bed with her face covered with tears to look at the doctor, then she looked at 鬼鬼.
丫頭: 鬼鬼, Hang in there! I’ll be back ok??
丫頭 stood up and walked along with the doctor.
Meanwhile, 王子 just finished wrapping his leg with plasticine.
王子: Thank you..
Doctor: Don’t move the ankle too much and come back for check up in a week and maybe you can get it unwrapped then but it'd probably be 2 weeks.
王子: Mhm… I will. Thank you once again.
Doctor: Even though this is totally out of what I should know, but how did you sprain your ankle?
王子: Well… I … attempted suicide and when I was about to reach the ground, I fell on this innocent girl. I really didn’t expect that I would hurt someone and because of her, I realised when I jumped, I was to naïve and now, I know suiciding is not the way to fix relationship problems.
Doctor: Relationship Problems? Wow.. now I know its not only girls that can be naïve. Oh well… Take care of your ankle. I suggest you to rest it while it is recovering.
王子: Once again, Thank you.
王子 turned around and walked out of the emergency room with crutches. As he was walking out, he saw 丫頭 following another doctor to an office.
王子’s thought: Wasn’t that the girl who helped me onto the pillow? I bet the doctor’s going to talk about the other girl’s injury. Let’s follow and see…
王子 tried to make the softest noise with his crutches while moving to hear what their conversation was about.
When he reached there:
丫頭: What!? How’s that possible! So do you mean she can’t work anymore? Working is 鬼鬼’s life! If she doesn’t work, she can’t even live for 1 day! And even.. She strapped pillows around her body to keep her safe!
Doctor: Miss, Calm down. Saving someone is our duty, even though the patient is poor, we still would try and save them. The pillows… Luckily she had pillows strapped around her chest, or else there would be worse consequences. Her ribs might even be crushed. This time its just the spine being dislocated and 1 month of recovering time is quite fast for someone who has similar injuries alike her. The fastest we have met is 2 weeks but I doubt that she’d recover that fast.
丫頭: So.. when would she be waking up?
Doctor: Soon…but I suggest someone should take care of her while she’s recovering.
丫頭: … Oh no! I know I can’t… I have to work triple in order to cover her hospital fees and my life! Her parents are at Australia… My parents are in America… There’s no one to take care of her! Oh 鬼鬼…
Doctor: We have to get her spine located right at this minute because it might cause her life at risk.
丫頭: What! Nonono… doctor please let her survive… Please she’s like a sister to me.
Doctor: Yes we’ll be moving her to surgery in a few moments.
丫頭: *Sigh* Thank you soo much.
丫頭 stood up from her seat and walked out of the room. On her way out, she saw 王子 leaning on the window next to the door staring at her. Then she looked down and saw the bandage on his ankle.
丫頭: *Gasp* You’re ankle! Is it better now? Why don’t you sit down. It’s better to heal when you’re relaxing.
王子: No its ok. I’m more worried about the girl I injured than my leg.
丫頭 looked down onto the floor and let out a huge sigh.
丫頭: I bet you heard our conversation just then… Yes, the doctor said that because you were coming down and a fast speed plus your weight has forced her spine to dislocate.
She turned her attention back to him.
丫頭: Why did you fall from the top of the building? Did you get threw down? Who were they? Why didn’t you scream out for help? You know that’s a well known building, if you shouted for help someone could hear you…
王子: Stop! Ok look.. I was being too naïve and decided to suicide. It’s about some relationship problems ok and I’m very sorry that you have to worry about your friend.
丫頭 shot a glare at him.
丫頭: You shouldn’t be saying sorry to me. You silly person! It’s just a relationship problem! If you can’t wait for her then god is giving you a clue that you should move on! Now I demand you to say sorry to my friend.
By the end of that sentence, 丫頭’s tears came falling uncontrollably. She lead 王子 to 鬼鬼’s hospital room and found that 鬼鬼 have woken up.
鬼鬼: 丫頭, 丫頭!
鬼鬼 started to cry.
鬼鬼: 丫頭! My backaches! Ahh!!!!!!!!!
丫頭 immediately ran next to her bed.
丫頭: 鬼鬼, 鬼鬼! I’m here! Don’t cry!
丫頭 couldn’t help herself but continued to cry. Then the doctor came in.
Doctor: Excuse me, we have to take her to the surgery room.
丫頭 moved away from the bed as she watched 鬼鬼 being wheeled away by the doctors and nurses. 王子 and 丫頭 followed them outside the surgery room. They took a seat and waited for 14 hours. Because 丫頭 was to tired, she leaned on 王子’s shoulder and slept through the last 3 hours. 王子’s phone suddenly rang.
王子: Hello? This is 王子 speaking.
王子:… 亞綸??
亞綸: Wah… Haven’t seen you in a few months and you forgot me ehh?
王子: No… Why would I? How are you my best friend? How was America? Any Hot Girls?? Haha
亞綸: mm Hot Girls ehh? Well these days I reunited with my sister and we’re in Taiwan now. She’s a hottie! Well to me at least but I’ll only love her a sister.
王子: Wow.. You really should introduce me to her 1 day. Wait… What did you say?? YOU’RE IN TAIWAN?
王子’s shout woke 丫頭 up by accident.
王子:*Whispers* Sorry
亞綸: What sorry… I’m still here you know… ok fine Yes! That’s right!! Whatcha doing now? Wanna catch up? I can introduce you to my hot hot sister.
王子: Nahh I got into some troubles and I think I can get it done in 2 week. Meet you up in 2 weeks yeh?
亞綸: What troubles? Whatever it is, I’ll send you a text on where to go after 2 weeks. Wait…Dude if its money you can just say it and I’ll help you! Honestly this is what friends are for ok?
王子: No its.. like some private.. matters…
亞綸: I’m guessing.. your ex is back?
王子: Well not exactly though it is about her.
亞綸: It funny how you never tell me what your ex’s names are. How can I even become a good friend? Wait. Scratch that, How can I even become a good best friend??
王子: Look its hard to explain over the phone ok. I’ll explain after two weeks. Oh Got to go now. Bye!
王子 leaned back onto the wall as a curious 丫頭 stared at him. Then a text came buzzing in. He opened the text he received then smiled and closed the phone. He leaned back onto the wall again and closed his eyes. Soon enough he fell asleep! He lost grip of his phone which slipped out of his hands onto the seat. 1 hour later, 王子 stood up along with 丫頭 as the doctors wheeled sleeping 鬼鬼 out of the surgery room.
丫頭: 鬼!
丫頭 ran next to 鬼鬼’s bed and held her hands as the nurses wheeled鬼鬼 back to the normal room.
王子: Is she ok?
Doctor: We’ve located her spine and she’s passed the dangerous period. All she has to do now is rest, rest and more rest.
王子: Thank You.
The doctor nodded and grinned at 王子 before taking his leave. 王子 slowly hopped back to 鬼鬼’s hospital room and saw 鬼鬼 smiling. He felt much better, at least she still can smile.
鬼鬼: 丫頭… He is…
丫頭: He was the one who fell on you. Well the whole process was complicated but he didn’t do it on purpose.
鬼鬼: Oh… Hi! Don’t worry too much about me. I just can’t move my neck around.. but I can still talk fine. *Grins*
王子: That’s good. The doctor said that you have to rest for a month. So do you want anything? I can ask my secretary to get it for you.
鬼鬼’s smile disappeared from her face like she just met a ghost. She turned to 丫頭 who was biting her lips nervously facing the floor.
鬼鬼: 丫頭… can you explain what he said??
丫頭 turned to face 鬼鬼.
丫頭: 鬼鬼…
鬼鬼: Didn’t you say it was just 1 week?!
丫頭: 鬼鬼..
鬼鬼 covered her face with her hands and a few seconds later, tears were leaking from her palms and down onto the elbow before soaking into the blanket. 丫頭 couldn’t stand watching her cry so she stood up and pulled 王子 out of the room. 王子 who just figured the situation felt even guiltier.
王子: Um.. I really didn’t know you would lie. Oh gosh I’m actually making this worse. Look I’ll go in and work it out.
王子 walked back in and sat next to 鬼鬼. He rested his hand on her shoulder and patted her on the back.
王子: Look… I’m really sorry that I caused you into all this trouble. If I can, please let me repay you.
鬼鬼 slowly looked up from her hands. 王子 can see her eyes all red and teary. Then 鬼鬼 smiled.
鬼鬼: Ok.. repay me? Well… I need you to give me 5 wishes. Umm.. I haven’t though of what wishes they are… BUT I’ll make sure its something that you can do and finish.
王子: Deal. As long as you can smile, I wont feel guilty anymore.
鬼鬼 wiped the tears off her face and grinned at 王子.
王子: You should understand why your friend lied to you right?
鬼鬼 looked away and let out a huge sigh.
鬼鬼: Yes… but I didn’t expect it to turn out like this. I’m the kind of person who needs to work full time even on the weekends in order to live. People like me would always wish to get married to someone who doesn’t need to work hard at all and would earn a lot. Honestly, that’s equivalent to Cinderella and Princess Diana which is highly impossible. 1 month is a long time… I can’t let 丫頭 pay for all these… She even struggles to live herself. Did you see how thin she is? Sometimes, I even feel sorry for her. And soon, I’ll be attending University which is what my mum always wanted me to do.
王子: Well, I don’t have an aim to make you feel guilty, but she’s outside crying. I’ll help you pay for your hospital fee without using up the wishes but under 1 condition. Forgive your friend, that’s all I ask for.
鬼鬼: Ok.. and thank you.. Oh how am I going to contact you and ask for the wishes?
王子: I’ll visit often but I want to see smiles whenever I come in. Look I have to go home now. See you later.
鬼鬼: Hehe ok. Byee~ Oh when you’re outside, call 丫頭 in. Thanks!
王子 nodded and walked out of the door. A few seconds later 丫頭 walked in and sat on the bed next to 鬼鬼.
丫頭: 鬼~ I’m really sorry.. I have no intention of lying to you..
鬼鬼: Its ok.. You don’t have to feel guilty. I’m fine! But all you have to do is to take more care of yourself. The nurses would keep me company.
丫頭: Are you sure? I still can come time to time! It would be sad to not see your best friend.
鬼鬼: Really, Don’t worry about me ok? Now go back home and arrange your room but all I can say is.. sorry about the pillows..
丫頭 let out a soft giggle and smiled.
丫頭: Alrites! I’ll take my leave. I’ll visit you if I have time ok? Bye!
鬼鬼: Bye!
丫頭 walked out of the room yawning since she haven’t been sleeping for 1 whole day. Not long after she left, a nurse came in.
Nurse: We found this outside the surgery room that you have just went out of. I believe someone dropped it while waiting for you.
The nurse handed 鬼鬼 a Sony Ericson phone and then left.
鬼鬼: This isn’t丫頭’s…丫頭’s is a Nokia… This phone looks like mine.. But mine’s pink… I wonder who’s…
鬼鬼 flipped opened the phone and saw a picture of a couple on a beach. She recognised the guy. Then she went into the Mailbox and randomly opened a text.
王子~
Meet at 5 pm on today of next month at KQ Restaurant.
I’ll be waiting with my awesome sis!
