*Note: For those of you who are wondering, the Terry who works in Sugar Factory is not the same as the Terry Li who is boss of Grenadine Glasses.

Still Thursday- one day left
Owodog was up to only H in the list of Sugar Factory employees. He had done a thorough background search on each and every employee so far but he had not found anything significant. And that was making him very frustrated. He had spent five hours and he got nowhere.
There had to be something else he could do, but he couldn’t think of anything as he rubbed his temples and then sipped on his coffee.

Friday 0100h
Fabien heard the doorbell ring and sprang out of bed. He peeked through the peep-hole and saw Ashley standing there, looking very sleepy. He quickly opened the door then unlocked the gate.
“Hey Yu.” Ashley said, stifling a yawn. Drops of perspiration lingered on her face. She looked worn out and tired.
“Hurry, come on in.” Fabien said. “What are you doing here so late?” He asked as he bolted the gate and the door.
Ashley said nothing. She dumped her duffel bag on the sofa and headed purposefully to Fabien’s room and switched on the lights. She walked to the window where she stuck her head slightly out and looked at the car park, scanning for any sign of a peach-coloured Suzuki Swift hiding in the darkness of it.
Then Fabien entered the room and turned off the lights. Ashley didn’t turn, but continued looking out the window. He appeared in the shadows and wrapped his arm around her shoulders and nuzzled her face. Then, quietly, he led her away from the window as he pulled the blinds close.

Friday 0300h
Owodog’s silver Honda Civic’s engine was still humming as he spaced out in the driver’s seat. There were stacks of paper filled with words on the passenger seat and the backseat. In other words, his car was a total mess. A direct conveyance of how he was feeling.
His car wasn’t exactly very nice; he knew it couldn’t match up to Fabien’s MX-5, not in a million years. His job wasn’t entirely enticing too; in the first place Ashley already had the same job as he does. But what Owodog hoped was that his partnership throughout the two years with her was enough to override all of Fabien’s credentials added together.
He didn’t know what was it that triggered his love—or lust—for Ashley. And he had wondered if it was just a temporary thing. But right then, what he felt failed to matter because Fabien was a strong contender who had professed his feelings to Ashley probably more than once. Up till then, all the signs that Ashley had shown seemed to be pointing in favour of Fabien.
Owodog twirled the lollipop in his mouth absent-mindedly. There were two priorities in his mind—one was arresting the lollipop killer, the other was to ensnare Ashley’s heart.

Friday 0500h
Heather’s bloodshot eyes stared across at Fabien’s apartment in rage and vengeance. For her last and final kill, she had gone all out to make sure it would be a beautiful one, and a success, no less. She rented an apartment across the car park that allowed her to watch Fabien’s apartment without any obstructions.
She had seen Ashley appear at the window a few hours before and then saw Fabien draw up beside her.
She had no intentions of killing an eighth person; that would totally ruin her plan and thus waste all her efforts. But she had no other choice. She would think up a reason for an eighth killing later.
Heather held the knife in her hand and admired its shiny blade. She slid its edge lightly across her palm and it drew blood immediately. It was sharp; very sharp. Good for her to play with her victim.
Beside her was a pack of Strawberries & Cream lollipops, with a white tag that said ‘For Sugar Factory Staff Only’.

Friday 0700h
Alicia woke with a start. To her surprise she was clutching a penknife very tightly. Shocked, she let go immediately and it fell to the floor with a ting. She saw her cell phone on the bedside table and quickly dialed a number and called. But all she got in response was, ‘You have reached mailbox number 7070. Please leave a message after the tone’.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Friday 0900h
All the neighbours had left for work, and the lift landings and corridors, which were significantly noisier an hour ago, were deserted as they were in the middle of the night.
Fabien left a note for Ashley as he silently left the house to get breakfast. Ashley was still sound asleep.
He went around the apartment to make sure all the windows and doors were locked. Then he walked to Ashley’s side, gazed at her for a moment and stretched out a hand to touch her face. But he drew back his hand at the last moment, then he turned and quickly left the house.

Friday 0930h
Ashley stirred and sat up in bed, forgetting for a second where she was. She bunched the comforter together and held it up. It was snug and warm. And it was full of Fabien’s scent. Ashley sighed and got down the bed. She saw Fabien’s note pressed under the toothpaste as she entered his bathroom and picked it up.
‘Ash, I’ve gone out to buy breakfast. I’ll be back soon. Be safe. –Yu.’
Ashley half-smiled. She liked the idea of having someone by breakfast for her while she slept in. She left the bathroom after five minutes inside, and decided to make the bed. She smoothed out the creases of the comforter, and pleased with her work finally, she went out of the room.
Ashley hummed a tune to herself softly as she entered the kitchen, then backed out slowly. She looked at the knife blade pointed towards her, then at the woman holding it. All that managed to catch Ashley’s eye was the pair of heels the woman was wearing. She should have heard them.
“Who are you?” Ashley demanded, trying not to take her eyes of the knife while attempting to look the woman in the eye. She was still slowly moving backwards as the woman advanced, the tip of the knife not once leaving 15 centimetres from Ashley’s face.
“Me? I’m Heather. Don’t you know me?” The woman said, with a fake saddened expression.
“I don’t know you.” Ashley replied, her voice cold and strangely calm.
“Aww. Now you will.” Heather said, with a malevolent smile creeping onto her face.
“What do you want?” Ashley challenged.
“What do I want… I want you to live a life worse than death… And I want that little boyfriend of yours to go to hell.” She snarled.
“And you intend to do that just with that knife of yours?” Ashley retorted.
Heather looked utterly disgusted and shocked.
Ashley didn’t know whether she should laugh at her ridiculous expression or be very afraid because she just managed to infuriate her more.
“Why, you slut!” Heather said as she flicked the knife across Ashley’s face.
Ashley hadn’t seen that coming and she winced slightly as she felt blood trickling out of the cut.
“I don’t see how a cold-blooded murderer is better than a slut.” Ashley growled.
“I am NOT a cold-blooded murderer! I killed those whores and vile men because they are a disgrace to human beings!”
“Why?”
“I hate loose women and I hate philandering men.” Heather seethed.
“That doesn’t answer my question. Why?”
Heather shot a pitiful look at Ashley. “You poor little vixen, you’re so curious about the world, aren’t you?” Then she threw back her head and laughed. “But it’s okay, since you’ll be living the rest of your life in hell, I shall be nice and answer your questions.”
-----------------------------------------------------------
Friday 0945h
Fabien’s left eyelid throbbed violently for five seconds. That also made him freeze for five whole seconds. When he finally recovered, his first thought immediately was Ashley. He hastily dumped his stuff into his car and sped home.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Friday 0950h
Owodog jerked awake. He glanced at the clock in his car, and realized he had overslept. He rubbed his eyes and tried to focus. He had a strange feeling that he was going to have work soon.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Friday 1000h
“He was a fucking piece of shit,” Heather said, her knife blade pressing lightly on Ashley’s neck as she had Ashley pinned to the wall. “Literally. But he died too early. They all died too early. I wish they hadn’t; so I’d have time to torture them slowly, one by one. Torment them one by one, until they would cry and beg me to forgive them. Especially that disgraceful woman! I feel filthy to be of such parentage. I want revenge. I want them all to live in misery! I want everyone to pay for all the foul deeds they have done…”
