“So where’s the money?” Jae Eun asked impatiently
“Please….. I don’t have the money yet, please give me another week” the poor old man pleaded
“Don’t give me excuses old man……. Give me the money now or something will happen to you and your family” Jae Eun smirked
“Thi….this is the only money we have” the old man trembled
“This is not enough, but should do for now, I’ll give you 3 more days, if don’t see the money, you should know what would happen” she went closer to him and held him by the collar
Before she walked out, her subordinates pushed over their table making glasses scattered everywhere, Jae Eun looked back at them and felt really bad, but she had no choice, she took the money and walked off
“Miss… where are we going now?” one of her subordinates asked
“Do you know what…..? Just take the money and go back to my dad….. Tell him that I wouldn’t be home till late, got my own business to handle” she said and chucked the money to her subordinate
“But we got more to do” he said
“Go do it then....... just leave me alone aite” she glared at him
Before she gets angry, they ran off and followed her instructions, Jae Eun wondered around in the streets, she walked to her old house and stopped, looking inside, she reminisced the old times, where her parents were still alive, she always thought that her parents died in an accident, but little does she know that the one who killed her parents was her adopted father, her parents showed up at the wrong time and the wrong place, finding out something that they shouldn’t have found out,
[Flash back:]
“Daddy…. Daddy” little Jae Eun cried out running after her father
“Oh my Jae Eunnie” he scraped her up from the floor and carried her to the swings
“Mummy…. Hurry up” she cried out
“Coming honey” her mum smiled warmly at her
[End of flash back]
Jae Eun carried on standing there and stared inside the gates, tears rolled down her eyes as she reminisce her past, someone came out of the house, and approached her,
“Excuse me miss, do you want something?” an old women asked
“Sorry…. Nothing” she smiled and walked off leaving the women feeling confused
As she quickened her pace, she came to a halt when she saw a little girl holding a lollypop, crying, so she walked over and crouched down in front of her
“What’s wrong little girl?” she asked
“I want mummy” she sobbed
“Are you lost?” she asked
“I lost mummy” she sobbed again
“Shall I take you to your mummy?” she asked again
“Mummy” the little girl carried on crying,
Just when she was about to walk off with the girl to help her find her mummy, a middle aged women came running towards them looking worried, once she spotted Jae Eun and the little girl, she stopped and breathed out in relief
“Oh god…. I told you to follow mummy….. Thank you so much” the women thanked Jae Eun,
“It’s ok” she smiled and walked off,
This was the first time that she heard someone say thank you to her, it made her feel good, because of her life, she had never heard someone say thank you, or even be nice to her, she never loved anyone either, after all she is a killer, no boys would go near her, she sighed to herself and carried on tracing her path, looking at people that has a better life than her, she never had friends either, she never went to school either, she was born a killer so she’ll always be a killer,
“YAH Jae Eun….. Thought I find you here” a deep voice cried out
“Seung hyun….. What you doing here?” she asked
“Your father asked me to come find you, we have another mission” he answered
“Another one ok let’s go” she sighed
She turned back the way she came and followed Seung hyun back to her house, Seung hyun is like a brother to her, he was the only one that she can truly trust, they would always do things together, whenever they get in trouble with the police, Seung hyun would always take the blame for her, even though it was her fault, he had always been there for her whenever she needs someone there, he too started killing people at a young age just like Jae Eun, he knows that she hates her life, he was the only one that understands her, and as each day pass, he realized that he had fallen in love with her but sadly she only treats him like a brother,
“Appa I’m back” Jae Eun greeted
“Good…. Come here” her father gestured her to come closer
“What…..” she asked
“I want you to kill this guy for me, he found out something that he shouldn’t off known, so kill him and I want it done by tonight” her father ordered
Jae Eun got no choice, so she nodded, if she ever disobey his orders, she will die, even though she’s his adopted daughter, whoever disobey will die, Jae Eun grabbed the photo, and headed out with Seung hyun,
“If you don’t want to do it, let me do it” Seung hyun offered
“You think I’m scared…… Seung hyun, all my life I’ve been killing people, you think I’ll just chicken out now, after all these years, my hands are full of humans blood Seung hyun, so I won’t back out” Jae Eun glared at him
“No that’s not what I meant, never mind, shall I come with?” he asked
“It’s too early now, wait until its dark” Jae Eun sighed
“Ok…. want to go grab something to eat” Seung hyun suggested
“I want to go for a walk, just pick me up later, when I call you” with that she walked off
Making her way out of her house, she turned left, she don’t know where she was heading, she’s just going to where her feet takes her, while wondering around the deserted streets, she heard some noise in an alleyway, so she decided to go check it out, peaking inside, she could see a bunch of guy picking on a guy wearing a black suit
“Give me your money” one of the guys ordered
“I don’t have any on me” the guy answered
One of them lifted his fist and punched the guy in the stomach, making him fall to the floor, Jae Eun smirked, and walked through the alleyway, standing there all the guys turned to her, and started to approach her with a devilish smile on their faces
“What is a pretty girl like you doing in a deserted alleyway like this?” one of the guy smirked
“Pssh…. don’t act cocky with me” she smirked back
“Oh let’s have some fun then” the guy came a little closer, and touched her face
“Touch me one more time, and you’re dead” she threatened
“What can a girl like you do?” with that said Jae Eun punched the cocky guy
“You bitch…..” he got back up and was about to slap her but she kicked his stomach and he fell back down, the other guys tried to grab her, but she punched and kicked all of them,
“Don’t ever let me see your faces again, don’t ever come back here again” Jae Eun told them, and they ran off
Walking over to the guy, she kneeled down in front of him, and helped him up,
“Are you ok?” she asked
“Yeah I’m fine…. Wow you’re tough” he smiled
“How come you’re here?” she asked
“my car broke down, and I tried calling someone but there’s no signal, then I just walked and walked, and ended up here, then those guys came and wanted money, but it’s all in the car” he responded
“Oh…. You shouldn’t come here alone…. You don’t know what it’s like around here” she smiled
“I’m Lee Seung RI….. Thanks for helping me” he introduced himself
“I’m Kim Jae Eun…. Don’t ever come down here…. People are mad around here” she told him
“How come you’re here?” he asked
“I live…… I mean I took a walk, and my feet took me here” she told him
“Oh well a girl shouldn’t be around here either” he smiled sincerely
“I’m use to it….. Don’t really bother me that much” she smiled back
“Eh…. Do you know how I could get back to the city?” he asked
“Yeah, I’m going there too, just follow me” she nodded
Jae Eun started to walk alongside Seung RI, at first there was an awkward silence, but then Seung RI started to speak up
“So what do you do for a living?” he asked
“Eh….. I work at a bar” she lied
“Oh cool….. What bar?” he asked
“Eish why do you have so many questions?” she thought to herself
“Eh…. Blue moon bar” she lied again
“Oh maybe I should come visit there” he smiled
“…….” She didn’t say anything but just smiled at him
[Jae Eun P.O.V:]
What have I got myself into……… I can’t tell him, my occupation is a killer, what would he think about that…… probably think I’m mental or something, hang on why do I care about how he thinks about me?
“So what do you do?” I asked
“Oh I don’t really do much, I sit at home or go out with my friends” he responded
“You serious……”
“Yeah….. My appa won’t let me work, he keeps saying I have to take up his business, but I don’t even want to do what he does, it’s boring, sitting there watching films, it’s annoying” he responded
“What does your appa do then?” I asked. Why am I even curious?
“He’s the president of a movie entertainment business” he responded
Without even realizing, we’ve already reached the city, I stopped and looked at him, what is this feeling inside me? Why do I feel like there’s butterflies in my stomach? Why do I feel like I want to know more about him? What is this feeling? All these questions popped in my head
“Well this is the city…. I need to go do my business now” I smiled and was about to walk away
“Wait... thanks again” he bowed to me
“No problem” I bowed back, and walked off
[End of P.O.V]
Seung RI carried on staring at Jae Eun from a far distance, there was something about Jae Eun that attracts Seung RI to her, he always liked mysterious girls, and Jae Eun was just perfect for his type,
Later that night~
As the sky grew darker, it was time for Jae Eun to start her mission, Seung hyun pulled up at the man’s driveway, Jae Eun put on her gloves, hats, and scarf, grabbing her gun, and she walked out and slowly crept to his door, climbing over the fence, she slide the door open at the back and entered silently, as she stepped foot inside, she searched for the man in the photo,
“AHHH who are you?” a women cried out
“……” she didn’t answer her; she carried on searching for the man
“Who are you?” the women screamed again
“BE QUIET OR YOU’LL DIE” she pointed the gun at the women
“…..” with that the woman shuts up, Jae Eun walked up the stairs, and spotted the man, she walked closer, and raised her gun at him
“Please don’t kill me” the man begged for his life
“You know something that you shouldn’t have known” Jae Eun told him
Just when she was about to pull the trigger, a little girl came running towards him, and held onto him, Jae Eun looked carefully and it was the little girl from earlier, and the women was the women that thanked her, suddenly she couldn’t shoot, she started to feel bad, she was the same age as the little girl when she lost her parents,
“Please don’t kill my daddy” the little girl begged
“Why does it have to be you? Why does it have to be the little girl’s dad?” Jae Eun questioned and lowered her trigger
“……” they all stared at her with frightened eyes
