- Yoochun -
I was really curious as to what she was going to write. Saeri was an interesting girl really. I guess what Mr. Yoon said about this poster was sort of true. We were getting to know each other more, even if I was only really getting familiar with one person. As Saeri hunched over the poster in concentration I walked over to the rest of my group mates who decided to just lay back, leaving Saeri and I with the rest of the poster.
“How’s the poster looking?” an old friend of mine asked, trying to get a glimpse of it from where he was sitting.
“It’s looking great. You guys are going to love it and if you don’t, you are redoing it yourselves,” I said with a chuckle. I was being a bit serious though, we were working really hard on it, expanding it so that it could reach full potential. I looked back at Saeri who was still working on the poster. She sure was taking a while with that one hope she had to put on there. Finally, I saw her put on the cap and I headed back.
“Yoochun, I don’t know if what I wrote made it better or worse,” Saeri mumbled as she turned to face me.
I rolled my eyes at her and then looked at the poster. My eyes widened. “Is this why it took so long? You were adding other stuff too?” She bit her lip and nodded her head shyly. Saeri had added little drawings and outlined words so that they stood out more. I thought there was nothing more to add, but I suppose there was something to make it better.
“I tried a few things, I guess they worked out in the end, but I bet you haven’t even looked at what I really wrote yet,” she said. I snapped my fingers and then looked at the spot where I told her to put her hope. Outlined in thin black marker and written in blue marker was her hope. ‘To fall painlessly for him and get noticed.’
I started to chuckle and then I faced her. Her face was red as she tried looking away from me. I poked her as she started to shuffle away from me. “Do you have someone you like Saeri-sshi? You didn’t tell me that. Come on tell me please,” I asked cutely. She tried to swat me away
“I am talking about in the future. Who is there to like in this class Yoochun-sshi? I don’t see anyone at all,” she said backing into a wall. She finally faced me with worried eyes when she was up against the wall and had nowhere to run.
“Oh come on Saeri-sshi, you can tell me. We have become close now haven’t we? I shouldn’t call you Saeri-sshi anymore; I should call you Saesae actually. And you can call me oppa!” I said excitedly knowing I was scaring her. Her expression was so priceless, that I wanted to burst out laughing.
She pushed off the wall and then headed to the group. “Saesae, don’t be frightened, come give oppa a hug,” I joked. Her eyes widened as she started to back away further and then suddenly bumped into the teacher. I instantly muffled a laugh as she tried to explain why she wasn’t paying attention.
“I… uh… Mr. Yoon… uh… I’m sorry,” she stuttered and then bowed before giving me a glare. I waved over to her and laughed. Ah, life is so great.

Mr. Yoon was pretty happy with the results of all our posters. He said that he saw friendship building all over the classroom which fascinated him somehow. Just as he was about to launch into another talk, the bell rang signalling lunch. All of us got up and went to get our lunches. Once I got mine, I sat with the rest of the guys at a random table in the corner of the room.
“How’d your guys’ poster-making go?” Yunho asked all of us. Junsu and Changmin shrugged and took a bite into their sandwiches.
Jaejoong looked at them in surprise. “You guys didn’t have fun? You both were in my group and I thought it was great!”
Junsu glared at him and clicked his tongue. “The only reason you thought it was fun is because you made everyone else do the work while you flirted with some random girl.”
“You missed my point Junsu-ah. The point of the exercise was to get to know others. That is exactly what I did and I’m very satisfied,” he explained with a smug look on his face.
Junsu shoved Jaejoong a bit as he chuckled. Then Changmin looked at me with curiosity. “Yoochun-hyung, when I looked at your group, it seemed like you and this one girl was the only ones doing something. What was that about?”
I put down my chopsticks and smiled. “Well, we weren’t doing anything in the group so they left us and told us to finish it. Her name is Saeri and she’s pretty nice. I guess I made a new friend today,” I replied. Jaejoong suddenly raised his eyebrows at me and smirked.
“So I guess I wasn’t the only one who was flirting it up today. Set-up was perfect wasn’t it? Getting to work beside each other and put down hopes and dreams? I put you were all over her right?” Jaejoong teased. I shook my head at the thought of what he said.
“No way man. Saeri is just a friend and I did not flirt with her. She’s a nice girl,” I said then looked behind me to point out Saeri to them. She was looking out the window eating her lunch alone. There was some sadness in her eyes but I’m sure it was nothing.
Jaejoong searched and when he saw her he chuckled. “She’s decent Yoochun-ah. Take the chance and do something. It’s high school, nothing to lose really. Isn’t that your motto?” I sighed and rolled my eyes at Jaejoong. It was true that I didn’t really take life too seriously and stuff. But, I didn’t want to take advantage of someone just because my flirting skills were really good. I looked back at Saeri and saw that someone had joined her now and she was speaking animatedly with them. Then I recognized who it was.
“Hey Jaejoong, that guy by Saeri, doesn’t he sit in your pod?” I asked turning back to face Jaejoong and them. He peered above my shoulder and nodded.
He suddenly shivered and took a bit of rice. I gave Jaejoong a look of confusion: why the shiver? Changmin –who was already done his lunch, what a hungry kid- looked at me. “His name is Jin. That guy is really weird. He doesn’t talk at all and he just scribbles in that notebook of his. I tried to peek and it was like all words and a few drawings. I don’t know why, but I get bad vibes from him.”
I looked back for the third time and still they were talking happily with each other. He didn’t look so dangerous to me. Sure he wore all black, wore a baggy sweater and had an odd smirk on his face, that didn’t mean he was scary did it? I turned again and just as I was about to say something to my group, the bell rang and we all stood up.
As I was putting my lunch away in my locker, Jaejoong came up to me and patted me on the back. “Remember what I said. Maybe just have a little fun with her. She can’t get hurt badly if you get interested in her for about a day and then uninterested the next right?” I looked at him disapprovingly and shook my head in amusement. Jaejoong was such a player sometimes, but he was a fun guy. Then I heard him scream to me as he was walking away from me. “Oh by the way, the teacher suddenly changed the seating arrangements and wait until you see who is in your group!”
