Chapter 1

Arriving

Yong Chun Hei arrived in Seoul, Korea three days after her high school graduation. She was worried and excited at the same time. Her Korean was only so-so. She had lived in America most of her life, and while her parents had made sure that she and her two brothers continued to speak and learn Korean, it was English that they spoke a majority of the time. Chun Hei was sure that she had a thick English accent in her Korean. However, simply the fact that she was away from home was enough to make any struggle worth it. Her boring life back in Boise, Idaho was a thing of the past. And here in the capital city of South Korea, she was going to make something of herself. She was going to make amazing things happen.

She had always been the pretty one in her class. Freshman year, Chun Hei was asked by three different senior boys to homecoming, winter formal, and prom. She never let her chocolate brown hair be any shorter than half way down her back, and that was about where it was when she landed in Korea. Her family was wealthy. Her father was a pilot and flew just about everywhere in the world at some point. Although he mostly flew inside the US, and when he flew outside it was to London and Paris. That was why she had chosen South Korea as her destination; her father would never fly there. Also aiding in her decision of where to run off to, was the fact that her uncle still lived in Seoul. He owned a little café right in the heart of the city and it was a very successful little café as well. She was positive that he would give her a job and help her get on her feet as she began her new life.

While she was walking down an insanely crowded street toward the little café that her uncle owned, Chun Hei was greeted by a crowd of nearly one hundred screaming fan girls and boys. There was only about a block left until she reached the café and she was not happy about the road block that she had just discovered. She pulled her luggage close to her, wishing that she had packed a little less just so that this one task of navigating the crowd could be easier, straightened out the short shorts and pink graphic tee that she had on, and started to push her way through. She was shoved from side to side, tumbling over fans that seemed aware of her presence only when she was blocking the line of sight between their camera and whoever it was they were there to see. She was surprised at how easy it was to get to the front of the crowd. By the time she was only a few feet away from the end of the crowd she only had a few minor scratches on her legs. That was when things got a little more difficult.

She should have known that the more diehard fans were the ones closest to the front. They were never going to let her through to the opening that would allow her to escape. She was stuck. She decided to stop fighting the mass of fans that lie in front of and around her, and to wait and see who exactly all these crazy girls were waiting for. She was there for a few minutes before anything happened. They were waiting outside a very nice looking restaurant. She knew the instant the celebrity the group was waiting for had made his or her exit, because excessive amounts of screaming ensued. Chun Hei was surprised to find that it wasn’t just one person the group had been waiting for, but five.

Five tall, slender, gorgeous men exited that restaurant and made their way to the curb where a van was waiting to pick them up. While there was none among them that had looks to be scoffed at, it was the tallest that caught Chun Hei’s attention. While he was wearing glasses to cover his eyes from the bright afternoon sun, she could still make out the features of his face. He was extremely tall and built, Chun Hei’s very definition of masculine. His slightly baggy baby blue t-shirt didn’t cover his well toned muscles. She could see the thick muscles on his arms, and she instantly wanted him to wrap them around her. His nicely fit jeans made his long legs look even longer. Despite the masculine nature of his body, this man had a baby face. Every curve of it was soft and perfect. And while on any other man this might seem unnatural, on him it just added to his perfection. Suddenly Chun Hei knew why all these fans were waiting and screaming. She didn’t even know who they were and she instinctively wanted to join in.

When the five men had gathered into the car, and it began to drive away, most of the crowd followed. Chun Hei stood in shock where the crowd had been. It took her a moment to regain her composure and walk the remaining distance to her uncle’s café.
