After a few minutes she tore out of her bed and went into the kitchen, pouring herself a glass of milk and sitting down at the dining table. She pouted her lips as she stared at the milk and took a few sips. In her huff she didn’t even notice Yunho enter and sit down beside her. “Something bothering you?” he asked after watching her for a minute.
She jumped from surprise. “I just don’t like it,” she replied when she had regained her composure.
“There’s really nothing we can do,” Yunho said, taking her hand to comfort her. “We just have to wait it out.”
“What if LSM breaks us up when he finds out?” she asked, tears forming in her eyes.
“You guys are legit now, right?” Yunho asked, his voice calm and comforting. She nodded with a sniffle. “Then I don’t think he would break you up.”
“What makes you so sure?” She asked as her tears streamed down her face.
He shifted a little, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out his wallet. He opened it and flipped through the little insert that held pictures. He stopped and showed her a picture of a beautiful young woman with raven black hair and a big smile. “Do you know who she is?” he asked, smiling as he looked at the picture.
“Yeah,” she said, recalling the only recent Korean recording artist that her mother had listened to, Boa. “Her name is Boa, she a recording artist. Didn’t she just debut in the US too?”
“Yep,” he replied with a proud smile. “She’s also the girl who’s had my heart for about five years now. You think LSM doesn’t know about us? He doesn’t really have a problem with it. You’re situation is a little different, with all the publicity you’ve had, but I think he’d still be okay with it. He can be cruel and heartless but he understands what we feel sometimes. I think going to this extent to out Park will put you in his good graces too.”
She laid her head down on the table and cried silently. After a few minutes she felt his hand on her head. He stroked her hair softly as she sobbed. She was so afraid of losing Changmin. She couldn’t even remember what it was like without him, even though it had only been a few months. She was a different person, and she was happy about that. If she had to go on without him she worried that she would turn back into the person she used to be. And she didn’t want that. That thought scared her.
“Thanks,” she said lifting her head and wiped a tear. But Yunho was gone and Changmin had taken her place.
“If something was bothering you, why didn’t you wake me?” he asked, using his thumb to wipe a few tears away.
“You were so peaceful,” she giggled through her tears. “I didn’t want to bother you.”
“It wouldn’t bother me,” he said, taking her face into his hands. He got out of his chair and kneeled beside her, “It bothers me that you didn’t wake me and I had to wake up on my own and come out here to find you being comforted by Yunho.”
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled, not looking him in the eye.
“I’m here for you,” he said, moving her face so that her eyes met his. The way the light hit his eyes was just enough for her to melt.
She leaned down and kissed him, forcing every bit of her apology into it. She wrapped her arms around his neck. They kissed in that awkward position for a few minutes, her tears rubbing onto his face and drying on both of their faces. His legs becoming a little shaky from the kneeling position, Changmin stood up and Chun Hei wrapped her legs around his waist. He held her there with all of his might, their faces never parting. He carried her back into the bedroom, fumbling with the door. He sat her down on the bed, neither of them letting go of the kiss they were sharing.
He climbed on top of her and she laid back in the bed, again wrapping her arms around his neck. She let them fall down his bare shoulder blades and to his chest, feeling every little muscle. He finally broke their kiss, letting his lips move down her neck as she caught her breath, holding onto him for dear life. He stopped and looked at her as they both gasped for air. He ran his fingers down her arms, sending a chill up her spine. Her eyes darted all over his face, taking it all in despite the darkness in the room.
“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” he asked, leaning on one arm and cupping her face with the other. “I don’t want you to be afraid. I don’t want you to think that I’m like the others. I’ll wait as long as you need to.”
“How can I be afraid when I’m with you?” she replied, pulling his face close to her. “You’re the only one I’ve ever felt completely safe with, the only one I’ve ever trusted with all of my being. You’re nothing like the others. You’re my hiding place.”
