friends frantically, as she kept fidgeting in the recliner
chair of her livingroom. Vanessa was holding the note,
thinking as she sat on the couch with HyoSoo, ChanChan,
ChaeMi, and SongYee. "It's obvious he is the guy in
your dream! Hellloo. The gift bag?" Vanessa pointed
out. Isa sighed. "Here unni." Maichan said as she
handed her a hot mug of milo. She smiled. "Thanks
dongseng." She said, blowing on it, then taking a sip.
"Vanessa's right unni. This isn't just some coincidence."
SongYee added. And HyoSoo and ChaeMi nodded as well.
"I have marshmallows!" Amy called as she came into
the livingroom as well, dropping a few into
Isa's mug, who thanked her. Then she sat down on the
couch with the other girls. "Dongseng." ChanChan called
to Isa, who was looking down into her mug, as if
the answer would appear. She looked up. "Yeh unni?"
She said. "You know what you have to do." ChanChan
told her. "What do I say? What am I supposed to do,
exactly? You all have done so much for me, but I just
don't know if I can sum up the courage to do what I
need to do." She admitted. The girls nodded, but
ChanChan spoke up again, speaking words of wisdom.
"You do have the courage, dongseng. Listen to your
heart. It's there. If you're going to let him walk away
because of a silly thing like fear, then all the
training that the people who care about you have done,
will have gone to waste." She told her. Isa nodded.
"I know unni. Thanks. I better get changed." She
said, getting up from the chair. "You're going now?"
ChaeMi asked. "The sooner the better right?" She
told them. They nodded wishing her luck. She thanked
them and went into her room, changing into jeans and
a white t-shirt and gray jacket. Then she called up
Marc, asking to meet up with him at the beach. She
went out of her room, where all the girls were smiling,
and wished her luck again. She smiled back, nodding and
drove over to the beach.

The drive over gave her some time to think and to
panic a little. She drummed her fingers on the steering
wheel, as she waited at a red light. She took a few
deep breaths, steadying herself. She remembered the
last time her friends were pushing her to confess.
It would be different this time. It had to be.
She shook her head. "No matter what happens, the important
thing is that I finally get this off my chest." She
reminded herself, nodding. She pulled into the
parking lot of the beach, and stopped the car, pulling
the key out of the ignition. Her hands started to clam
up, as she realized now was the time to tell. She
wiped the palms of her hands on her jeans a few times,
then got out of her car, steadying herself once more. She
walked down to the beach, and saw Marc sitting on one
of the large rock boulders, camera in hand, as usual.
She smiled up at him, gesturing for him to come down.
He went down to the sand, and walked beside her.
"Hey, you wanted to talk?" He asked. She nodded.
"Yeah. Uh, this is a little random but, do you ever
feel like somehow two people can be connected? But I've
never been one to believe in fate or destiny." She
told him. He glanced at her. "It's possible. You can
spend most of your life not believing in something, and
then one day, your views change completely." He said
and she nodded. "Well then, I have to say something. And
I will try to give my whole heart, to say the whole
truth, no matter the outcome. Because I just might
regret it, if I don't for the rest of my life." She
admitted. He looked surprised now, but nodded.
"Then I'll do my best, to listen with my whole being, if
you have something to say." He said. She felt more at
ease now, after he had said this. "Well, I guess I could
start off by saying that, this is really hard for me
to say this, because I've been through something similar
before, and it didn't go very well. But I will try
again anyway. I guess you could say, I'm really glad
that I bumped into you that one day." She said with light
laugh, and he smiled. She went on. "And I'm glad to have
met your little brother, and your mom, glad that I
can count on you to cheer me up when all those blind
dates go wrong. You're a really good friend to me, and
I really don't know if I should be saying this or not,
but I like you." She finally admitted. He looked at
her with an expression of confusion and surprise.
Then she was taken aback, when he smiled warmly, and
took her hand. "I like you too." He said, and she was
shocked. "Really? But the note..you said..huh?" She
said. He laughed lightly and explained. "It really did
say 'I do too' but then I thought it was a bit tacky
to say that in a card, so I added the 'as a friend' part
because I didn't want to try and find white out, plus
I didn't know if you did or not." He explained.
She smiled, shaking her head. "What?" He said, confused.
"You're such a dork. Oh well, I guess I'll just go home
now." She joked, letting go of his hand, and stretching
like it was too early. He looked distraught after she
had said this, and she laughed. "I was joking." She said,
feeling a little bad, and hugged him lightly. He frowned
at this. "Hey don't frown. Be happy." She said, pulling
the sides of his face up into a smile. He gently removed
her hands from his face, and she rested them on his
shoulders instead, smiling. He smiled back, leaning forward
slowly, as she closed her eyes. And as his lips met her
own, she realized that she was happy. Past events may
go awry, but that should not stop you from taking second
chances, especially when it comes to love.
