"NO! You turn it off! I did it last time!" replied an annoyed Kristy. Ruby began snoring loudly. "Argg!!!!!! I have to do everything around here!" complained Kristy in her upset tone. Kristy reluctantly got out of bed and turned off the alarm clock. She made her way to Ruby's bed and tried to wake her sister up. "Rubes get up! Christmas break is over! Come on! Don't be so lazy!" nagged Kristy.
Ruby turned to the other direction, "Ummmmm...five more minutes Kristy, please, just 5 minutes! It's too cold! Let me hibernate in peace!" whined Ruby sweetly.
"What are you a bear??? You don't need to hibernate!" stated Kristy in a sleepy voice.
Ruby sat up and put on her cutest, most innocent face and said, "Come on Kris..." she wrapped her warm blanket around her sister and continued, "it's still early, there's no reason to get up now."
Kristy looked at the alarm clock, it was only 6:40. Another 20 minutes wouldn't hurt. She cuddled up under the warmth of the blanket with her sister and slowly closed her eyes.
The sun was up high in the sky, it shone through Ruby's window and hit her in the eye. Ruby slowly opened her eyes and saw her sister sleeping peacefully. She gave a quick glanced at the alarm clock, and said to herself, "its 8:15." Ruby quickly looked at the clock, her eyes weren't fooling her it was truly 8:15. Ruby quickly jumped out of bed, accidentally throwing Kristy off the bed.
"OOowww! What happened??" shrieked Kristy rubbing her back.
"It's 8:15, no wait it's 8:16 now!" replied Ruby throwing on her school uniform.
"WHAT!" Kristy shrieked again.
She quickly got up and ran to use the bathroom, while Ruby changed. Within a minute both switched. Ruby used the bathroom, while Kristy changed.
The girls raced downstairs. "Kristy, Ruby why the rush?" asked Ted Yang, their father who was sitting at the breakfast table chatting with his wife Lizzy Lin.
"Can't talk daddy, we're late!" both girls replied as the kissed both their parents goodbye and raced out the door.

~In the Kitchen~
"Those girls, only 8 years old and already as lazy as their father!" sighed Lizzy.
"LAZY?!!?? Who are you calling lazy??" asked Ted. With a mysterious smirk on his face he said, "I'll show you lazy," as he approached her.
"NO Teddy, not now! I have errands to run and you have work to do!" warned Lizzy.
Ted gave a pout and said, "Fine I'll catch you later!"
Lizzy just laughed childishly and nodded. She walked over to him and gave him a peck on the cheek then headed out the door to start her errands.
Ted looked at his wife lovingly as her figure disappeared through the door.

~At the School~
"Hurry up we're late!" scolded Kristy.
"We're already late what's another 5 minutes," replied Ruby.
The chauffeur soon stopped at a fancy looking school called "Rosebuds' Academy for Tomorrow's Leaders, Elementary School."
Kristy looked relived that they finally got to school. As for Ruby she looked as if she has just gotten all her freedom taken away. "Oh cruel fate why must thee give me a taste of freedom, and then take it away so cruelly after only two weeks. Oh me! Oh my!" announced Ruby.
Kristy looked at Ruby and said, "Rubes you're such a drama queen. Now quit complaining and go inside."
"YES SIR!" saluted Ruby like a solider.
Kristy gave her a deadly stare. Ruby kept quiet.
The two girls approached the school. A sign was hung on the doors it said: On January 5th, school will begin at 9:30 am sharp. An assembly will be held at 11:00 am in the gym.
"WHAT!! NOBODY TOLD ME THAT!!" screamed Ruby, "WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO FOR..." she stopped and stared at her Hello Kitty watch. "Ummm...Kris what does this say? I can't tell time on this watch it has to many hands."
"45 minutes," replied Kristy calmly. She sighed and went to sit down on the bench. As her bum touched the bench she screamed in pain. "Oooooooooowwwwwwwwww!"
"What's wrong??" asked Ruby concerned.
"My butt hurts! Rubes, I think you broke my bum!" moaned Kristy in pain.
Ruby tried but couldn't hold in her giggles. Kristy gave her the evil eye. It kinda scared Ruby, so she immediately stopped giggling. "Sorry," she said.
In about 15 minutes the heard someone yell "HELP!" They both rushed to see who it was. When the arrived at the scene the saw kids they recognized. One of their best friends Gigi (8), with her sister Amy (6) and step-brother Alec (10) who was shorter than Ruby. Alec had his tongue stuck to the lamp-post.
The girls busted out laughing. "Gigi what happened to Alec?" asked Kristy, trying to control her laughs.
"Well, I told him that if he tried licking the lamp-post during the winter his tongue would get stuck, he didn't believe me so, he's stuck. This proves that girls are smarter than boys." she simply replied.
"So Alewec, (she's been calling him that since she was a toddler) you like going around and licking lamp-posts, I never knew that!" chuckled Ruby.
Alec gave her an evil glare.
"I needa go pee pee!" announced Amy.
"Okie, Alec you stay here while we take her to the bathroom," said Kristy.
"HMHMMHM!" Alec tried to say, but before he knew it they were all gone.
In 5 minutes, which seemed like forever Ruby came out with a cup of warm water. She poured it on the lamp-post and Alec's tongue and before he knew it he wasn't stuck anymore.
He was finally free! He started jumping and shouting, "Whoo-hoo! I'm free! A-CHOO!"
"Come on Alewec, you're going to get sick," said Ruby as she grabbed his and pulled him in towards the school.
Alec's heart started beating really fast it felt as if it was trying to jump out. When they entered the school he pulled his hand out of Ruby's grip. "Hump! Next time I'll leave you out there to freeze!" exclaimed Ruby.
By 9:30 they were back in there classes talking about what they did during the Christmas break. The assembly at 11:00 was just the principal going through all the rules and regulations and welcoming all the students back from Christmas break.
During the middle of the assembly the principal received a notice. He called "Ruby and Kristy Yang to report to the principal's office immediately!"
Ruby and Kristy stood up and walked towards the exit. They past Alec, he said aloud, "ooooo Looks like someone's in trouble, and on the first day back!! That's a record Ruby!" Both girls immediately glared at him which shut him up.
Whatever it was that was waiting for them, gave them the chills. They never expected it to be.....
